    as a contractor and watching this video i thought it was pretty good install instructions for the homeowner.. However, after watching this video and how the unit installs i will stay with the current brand i have been installing. I feel the current brand i install interlocks with no need for adhesive. and much less complicated install.. The unit i install has interlocks which make the finished unit very solid and leak proof.. I do use Delta faucets almost all of my projects...

      @@orryrogers5348 I use Sterling Ensemble line of bath and showers. They have a couple different looks. My preference is the Curve. The back and sides have protrusions that fit into indents in the base. We always install the base in Mortar being careful to level it and fasten to the studs with brackets and screws. The back and sides also interlock with each other and are fasten with screws to the studs across the top and down the outer edges under the drywall. I just finished an install Friday and start a new remodel Monday with another Sterling Enselble. Division of Kohler

    I purchased one of these and was very disappointed when I opened it. The channel between the back panel and the side panel do not even overlap at the bottom. Why would it be designed this way? It completely relies on caulk which is known to fail. I am hoping I can return this unit.

  • @ericbrown6454
    @ericbrown6454 Před 2 lety +11

    I don't like this at all. First, why Delta would make a shower wall system that doesn't interlock in the corners and requires sealant that will eventually fail? Then the sealant he ran on top of the floor pan before installing the wall doesn't even touch the wall. In fact, it doesn't even appear to be necessary as water won't be able to run down the wall and then under the bottom of the wall and up and over the flange on the floor pan. I was looking at this model of shower and watched this video to see how it's built as the website didn't show much detail. I have seen enough to decide against this model.

      @deltafaucet  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello Customer. Thank you for your question and we are happy to help. For sealant, adhesives, and caulk, we recommend DAP 3.0, or Loctite PL Heavy Duty Sealant. If these can't be found, use latex/acrylic high-performance sealants and caulks that are designed for plastic/polystyrene, and do NOT use water cleanup. Other types have the potential for poor adhesion, shrink, and cracking over time.
      For adhesives, any construction adhesive that is safe for plastics can be used, please follow the manufactures instructions for application and cure times.
      With any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
