    I'm just reinforcing the already positive comments by saying, your diagrams are sooo helpful. It's one thing to know your craft but to be able to explain it and SHOW it for an average Joe like myself, makes a world of a difference. The visualizations paired with your narration, were splendid. One more quick tip, if your vent goes straight up through the plate line, it's a good idea to offset the vanity vent so there is no conflict with the electrician's light box.

    • @vanhattfield8292
      @vanhattfield8292 Před 2 lety +3

      Typically the entire drain, including the vent, is going to be offset a few inches from the centerline of the sink to allow the required p-trap to be installed under the sink during the finish. If the centerline of the sink is used as the location where the waste line is accessed, it leaves very little room to install the trap and is going to make for a messy looking finish.

    Well done video, I noticed that there was no mention of grade/ slope, on the 3 " horizontal run . Keep up the great job.

    You would be such a great instructor, everything is up to code here.
    Perhaps down-sizes water lines next ?

      Not in Australia! all the underfloor pipes are 4” and the sink drains to a floor waste trap in the middle of the bathroom.

    Thanks for making these awesome videos and providing great content for everyone! This is great for the motivated DIY who wants to do things right.
    I'm doing a bathroom remodel in the near future and the new layout will be identical to bathroom #3. The only problem is that it's on a concrete slab and I can't figure out where to put the cleanout. Can I extend the 3" pipe backwards (against the flow of water) to the nearest stud bay and have a cleanout inside the wall behind an access panel? I want to do this right with a permit, and screwing up the cleanout will probably fail my inspection.

      As a plumber apprentice, his videos help me a lot too! I don't have the best teachers so I have to figure a lot out on my own.

    How to vent identical bathrooms that are stacked on top of each other? Does each fixture have a vent that goes up to roof or should there only be one vent through roof? I just started working as a drafter I'd appreciate any help
