Remember, Sidious had the ability to selectively cloud the vision of whomever he pleased. Yoda was supposed to be one of his biggest fears. So when everyone hates on Yoda and says he was ignorant, keep in mind he was the main target of a large ammount of Dark energy specifically used to block his foresight. The fact yoda had to accept that his entire Jedi order was corrupted by the dark side and needed to be eliminated to bring balance to the force deeply pains me
Um it did not show nor say the Jedi were corrupt in the dark side. If anything Anakin had stints. The whole point was the Jedi restricted the force by limiting those who trained to use. The Sith largely are small in numbers and not wildly wielding the other extreme use of the force. He did not have to accept the vision. Yoda is often weak in that way he goes its the will of the force. Half of the clone wars was the force trying to get Yoda to change the Jedi order to be more like grey Jedi in training. Qui Gon was able to handle both sides of the force equally. The fault of the Jedi order was restricting the force.
People wonder why Yoda never heed these cave visions? But, what did exactly did Yoda see? Jedi Knights like Kenobi or Windu attacking some clones, the cloaked figure of Sidious and the feeling that the Order will end. Plus, Qui-Gon did tell him that there is always hope thus the Jedi can prevail. Yoda still believed that it was an "us vs them", when in reality, the evil resided within their own Jedi Order, Anakin/Vader.
The Jedi weren’t meant to fight in the clone wars, since they were peace keepers. They have signed their death warrant in the minute that they joined the clones.
Although I love the Clone Wars and it'S a great tv show, best thing that ever came out of the Star Wars Franchise since the Original Trilogy, I feel one of the problems of the Clone Wars for was that for some reason they tried several times to show us the events of the prequels by allowing the characters to either see or experience what ultimately will happen to them but not yet, only for them to either forget what they saw or dismiss it as just a vision or just a potential future. I don't understand why Yoda never acted or even thought about telling all this to someone
This was really the only time that they tried to give a glimpse of what would happen during Revenge of the Sith. This vision really didn't tell Yoda anything new as by this point they had learned that the Clones were created by the sith and that Sidious was out there. This vision didn't tell him when, where, or how this would come about and so he was powerless to stop the sith's machinations as they had already grown too far to be stopped. This is why at the end of this arc he tells Obi-Wan and Mace that they have already lost but must focus on finding victory not in the Clone Wars but for all time.
Everyone talks about how obvious Palpatine and Order 66 should have been, but we have the benefit of knowing all the details at all times, and knowing how it all turns out. Yeah, Dooku told Obi-Wan about Palpatine on Geonosis, and then he proceeded to massacre most of the Jedi, nearly kill Obi-Wan, cut off Anakin's arm, and flee to take command of the Separatists fighting a war against the Republic. It's pretty understandable that the Jedi wouldn't trust a word that their greatest enemy said. As for Palpatine, as far as the Jedi could tell, he was a cunning and greedy politician who was trying to hold on to power as long as he could. They didn't trust him, and they were starting to figure it out (hence having Anakin spy on him), but it was too late. Palpatine was a master of the dark side and was able to stay hidden long enough for the damage to be done. Like other people have said, this vision only shows Yoda WHAT happens, not how or when it happens. All the Jedi can do is focus on ending the war, and stay alert. Unfortunately for them, this comes from the least expected source (Anakin and their own soldiers). So yeah, Order 66 and Palpatine seem really obvious when you know the whole story and have all the facts, but the characters in the story don't, so I think it's pretty understandable they were so surprised by it.
I'm still loving the fact that Qui-Gon Jinn ends up being Master Yoda's Master, Qui-Gon always did what the Force told him and refused a seat on the council, in that he uncovered knowledge far greater than Yoda ever could, message: You can be wise, but somebody will always know more than you do
Johnny Ortega If Solo didn’t do so poorly we’d have at least 4 spin offs about individual characters from Star Wars. Like I said: They WISH they could do what Marvels doing right now.
He has the vision of the jedi massacre, he heard the Jedi master Qui-Con confirmed it, and yet he didn't do anything to stop it from happening. And they say that Yoda is the wisest from all the Jedi.
Except he did try and stop it, he hoped that they could end the war before Sidious' plans came to fruition, and Revenge of the Sith showed us that the Jedi kept trying to look for Sidious after these visions. They simply failed to stop it because this vision didn't show him any new information that he could act upon.
I think everyone agrees there. But LucasFilms wanted to make a reasonable story line. To be honest, however, it really wasn't. Along with that, Anakin should've noticed he was being swayed back Palpatine.
What the EU and shows like clone wars, rebels and now the mandalorian have taught us is: that movies are a poor medium for SW to develop, it needs time and exposure to be as efective. The movies aren't bad or anything they just can be so much more without the time constraints.
I agree in the main. Some of the films are great, but given time with a proper series, the stories and lore can grow. However I liked the scene in The Last Jedi where Yoda reappears to help Luke burn down the old shrine, as imo, that is the final ending to what we see here in the prophecy. The old order shall die, and darkness will come, but there is always hope.
@@shugaroony that yoda scene weas pretty awesome. But it conflicts greatly with the cannon both in a good and bad way. The good: people who become force ghost are actually *"more powerful than we could ever imagine"* The bad: *"if so powerful they were, why not help during the worst crisis?"* But i digress, what's done is done.
@@virtueofsunlight1342 Yes, its not perfect, and if we want to nit-pick I suppose we could look at plot holes etc; but there is a lot of complexity in the SW universe now if we look deep enough, and thats what I like as an old fan of the saga.
Well, Star Wars movie are born as fables (even the sequel, bad-written fables but always fables). Vader is the Dark Knight/Black Knight, Palpy the Evil Wizard/Sorcer/Warlock, Luke the young farmer that become a knight, Yoda a fairy/pixie ally of the hero, Obi Wan a wizard/fairy Godfather figure.
I wish they used what Yoda stated to Luke. Luke: "Is the dark side stronger?" Yoda: "No, no." "Easier and more seductive." The dark side is not strogner, it is just easier to use and more seductive.
The reason yoda didn’t stop it is because qui gon told yoda to not tell anyone and he also didn’t know why it happens and he also realized that it might have to Happen and also, he probably thought it was a possible future because the future is always in motion.
it was too late they were pretty screwed, too much power given to palpatine. They didn't even know he was the master mind at the time as well only suspicions.
Well one he didn't know Palpatine was Sidious and he didn't see Anakins face just a blue lightsaber stabbing Shaak Ti it could've been Anakin or Grievous
Everyone forgets that order 66 and the fall of the republic was going to happen no matter what from that point forward. No matter what Yoda does no one can change prophecy, the only thing that can change are the actions that lead up to the prophecy being fulfilled. Yoda knew this and he knew nothing could change the future.
I always wondered why at the end of the season, Yoda told the others he didn't discover anything significant. I could only come up with this explanation: When he saw all this, this was a vision of a possible future. He cautioned Anakin about sensing the future, yet it seems the Jedi policy towards these visions is to take no action because doing so might cause the vision to occur. That's what happened to Anakin in ROTS, so in a way the policy was sound. At the same time, though, considering the vision he saw, he could have done something. Taken some action. But I think he was finally beginning to acknowledge that Qui-Gon and Dooku had been right about the Republic and the Jedi Order all along. He admitted at the end of this arc that he was no longer certain the way the Jedi were doing things would lead to victory. Yoda had been shown a glimpse of a different course they could have taken. Something that would have allowed the Jedi to win the war and avoid Order 66. But he needed time. Time to fully understand what the Priestesses were showing him. Time for him to learn from Qui-Gon. Unfortunately, Palpatine had begun his endgame, and the Jedi were force to play the roles Palpatine had set up for them to play. Maybe Yoda still thought he could continue traveling down the path he had traveled all his life and defeat Palpatine. But when he faced Palpatine, as it said in the novel, he realized the terrible truth that he never had what was needed to defeat Palpatine. He and the other Jedi were more than capable of defeating the Sith as they were a thousand years ago. But the Sith had changed and become something new, while the Jedi remained the same. It was only at the end, when the Jedi were defeated and "seemingly relieved" of their obligations and duties to the Republic and the galaxy that Yoda, and eventually Obi-Wan, were able to learn the lessons and be in a position to guide Luke to victory.
Let me explain, the Jedi never knew that Palpatine was the Emperor. They were caught off guard when the clones attacked like you saw in the Jedi purge in Revenge of the Sith also since the attack was led by Anakin it made it worse for them because Anakin is the strongest Jedi there ever was. Being caught off guard in different places like The Jedi Temple, and other places (Don't know how to spell them) so just chill
Plus the Outer Rim sieges made the jedi few and far between, and Palpatine had such a good reputation and character in the Republic that all that time the Jedi suspected Mas Amedda or some other of his advisors of being Darth Sidious
@@shugaroony anakin was. However what anakin had in power he lacked in wisdom, battle tactics and brains. He was young and stupid. Ultimately that costed him his 3 remaining limbs and 3rd degree burns to his body and damage to his lungs.
@@trollzynisaacjohan1793 Anakin could have went on to become the strongest Jedi - I'm not denying that - if he was balanced. Which he never was, and hence his fall to the dark side. Obi-Wan could never match him in force ability, but he was a masterful swordsman, and a true perfect Jedi in that he was reasoned, judged situations accordingly, even when he was beaten, never once was tempted by the dark side and stuck to the path of the light. Thats what made Obi-Wan stronger, for me, at that time. I don't need to go into Yoda's insight, and abilities though I'm sure.
well, they were clouded by their own arrogance and by the dark side that Palpatine represented. They could never expect that a Sith Lord was right under their noses, and also the Council was already doomed to fall since they got involucrated in the wars.
The animators got Eeth Koth and Agen Kolar mixed up. They're both Zabrak Jedi Masters but Agen has darker skin and a blur lightsaber. He was the one killed during Palatine's arrest. They showed Eeth Koth getting killed in Yoda's vision instead since they already had a mode for him from the Grevious Intrigue episode
So to all the people judging Yoda for not doing enough, what exactly could he have done to save the order? They where fucked either way and the only thing he could do was become part of the force after death, therefore solidifying the victory of the light side.
Obvious plot hole is why didn't Yoda warn all the other Jedi of their impending doom? He probably did. The crucial detail left out in his vision of course was that it was Palpatine and the clones that were responsible for it. The Jedi likely knew that trouble was ahead and did all they could to prepare for it, but ultimately didn't expect it to come from behind them.
The Jedi already knew that they were in a precarious situation after learning that the clones were created by the sith. They kept trying to find Sidious and end the clone wars as quickly as possible in order to stop Sidious but ultimately failed. Nothing in Yoda's vision could've prevented that.
Yoda literally knew what was gonna happen since the start of the clone wars, yet he let it happen, enabled it even. And when it happened, went to chill with the wookies
So Yoda had a warning about the fall of the Jedi a warning which was clear and not cryptic and yet the Jedi were still wipe out? So yeah the Jedi are bloody idiots.
Actually this explanation shows that yoda wasn't told when it would happen but that it had to happen due to the jedi forgeting their purpose as peace keepers and needing to balance the force out
@@jhonkrone3446 for all yoda knows the jedi are mowing down troops as aggressors, not defending. Those Jedi were kicking Clone ass, not being shot from behind. So when everyone hates on Yoda and says he was ignorant, keep in mind he was the main target of a large ammount of Dark energy specifically used to block his foresight. This arc actually made me respect and feel for him a lot more.
1:10 When you overdose on ketamine
Lol hate the fact that I can relate.
Oof
When the people who liked this comment are probably 16-18 and jobless
Is it just me who loves the scene where the four amigos confront palps so much more in this version…
Palpatine is considered the most evil character in Star Wars
What else is he
@@briginshaw1 Sheev Palpatine, Darth Sidious, the One True Dark Lord of the Sith, The Ultimate Evil, Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, Galactic Emperor, Ruler of the First and Final Orders, the Sith Emperor, the Sith'ari, All the Sith, Creator of countless monsters including his Sith apprentices, the Most Powerful Sith Lord and non-entity Force-user of all time, the mastermind behind pretty much everything in Star Wars, and, of course: The Senate.
Need any more examples? XD
Of course for he is the embodiment of 1,000 years of sith knowledge if we take the video games in account though emperor Vitiate might be even more dreadful
@@alexeiharp7676 I'd say that Emperor Palpatine is still the supreme Sith, even over Vitiate/Valkorion. Darth Sidious is certainly the more powerful and manipulative of the two.
@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain I agree vitiate was controling milions of sith but this was wrong and it lead to sith empire's destruction while sidious always becomed careful and he always destroyed every threat to hım even his own followers
I like how the same effect happens when Yoda talks to Ezra for the first time.
That scene of the Jedi vs the clones was epic af. Thats how order 66 should've played out in theatres. The jedis final stand 😭
"I sense a plot to destroy the jedi"
0:27 oh so that deleted scene of Anakin killing Shaak at the temple is canon afterall... nice
0:17 Oh hi Eeth Koth, was Agen Kolar not available to die today?
0:30 gives me the chills
Same here !
There has been so many times in the Clone Wars when characters tell them what will happen and no one listens. They had the time to fix things
The Jedi weren’t meant to fight in the clone wars, since they were peace keepers. They have signed their death warrant in the minute that they joined the clones.
Not the younglings though have a heart.
Indeed, the hubris of Mace Windu in aligning the Jedi with the Clones, was the final deathknell of the old Order.
*"Join me. There is no other **_waaaaaaaaaaayyyy_** ."* 😈
It was very hard to see what was going on beyond Jedi getting killed by a hooded figure, and Yoda was told there was hope, so I really don’t blame him
Although I love the Clone Wars and it'S a great tv show, best thing that ever came out of the Star Wars Franchise since the Original Trilogy, I feel one of the problems of the Clone Wars for was that for some reason they tried several times to show us the events of the prequels by allowing the characters to either see or experience what ultimately will happen to them but not yet, only for them to either forget what they saw or dismiss it as just a vision or just a potential future.
I'm still loving the fact that Qui-Gon Jinn ends up being Master Yoda's Master, Qui-Gon always did what the Force told him and refused a seat on the council, in that he uncovered knowledge far greater than Yoda ever could, message: You can be wise, but somebody will always know more than you do
So yoda has feared the end of the republic and the RISE of the empire before it happened its like Tony’s visions with thanos
Torin G how is it marvel garbage?
Torin G I like Star Wars more but marvel is not garbage
Johnny Ortega much isn’t garbage
Johnny Ortega the MCU did/is doing what Star Wars wish it could do, if we’re being honest.
Johnny Ortega If Solo didn’t do so poorly we’d have at least 4 spin offs about individual characters from Star Wars. Like I said: They WISH they could do what Marvels doing right now.
Liam Neeson back as Qui Gon Jinn😎❤️💯
He has the vision of the jedi massacre, he heard the Jedi master Qui-Con confirmed it, and yet he didn't do anything to stop it from happening.
And they say that Yoda is the wisest from all the Jedi.
Except he did try and stop it, he hoped that they could end the war before Sidious' plans came to fruition, and Revenge of the Sith showed us that the Jedi kept trying to look for Sidious after these visions. They simply failed to stop it because this vision didn't show him any new information that he could act upon.
The Jedi were idiots to not see that the Chansiler was the Sith Lord
I mean it was pretty fucking obvious
Dylan Decent I mean a man wearing a robe. yeah that is pure unadulterated evil!!!
The good: people who become force ghost are actually *"more powerful than we could ever imagine"*
The bad: *"if so powerful they were, why not help during the worst crisis?"*
But i digress, what's done is done.
@@virtueofsunlight1342 Yes, its not perfect, and if we want to nit-pick I suppose we could look at plot holes etc; but there is a lot of complexity in the SW universe now if we look deep enough, and thats what I like as an old fan of the saga.
@@shugaroony well i can oly hope they learn from the missteps and deliver some good content soon.
Luke: "Is the dark side stronger?"
Yoda: "No, no." "Easier and more seductive."
The dark side is not strogner, it is just easier to use and more seductive.
The reason yoda didn’t stop it is because qui gon told yoda to not tell anyone and he also didn’t know why it happens and he also realized that it might have to Happen and also, he probably thought it was a possible future because the future is always in motion.
"Dread it, run from it, Destiny arrives all the same. And now its here, or should I say
*Order 66 is given season 7 episode 11*
*I AM*
I’m so glad Liam Neeson came back to do qui gon,s voice
A really underrated point to note in this video is that Yoda can understand R2 perfectly
Yoda got a mini starfighter how cute
I wish we saw him in space combat for the heck of it.
yoda pretty much killed everyone for not saying anything
it was too late they were pretty screwed, too much power given to palpatine. They didn't even know he was the master mind at the time as well only suspicions.
There is A lot of evedidence given to Yoda that Anakin would turn specifically when the Jedi are cutting down the clones Anakin isn't among them
Nobody talking about sidious doing the spinning roar 💀💀💀 that shit is so loud
I like how the force still manages to hide Sidious’s face because it’s a destiny that is supposed to occur. It cannot be changed or stopped.
0:11 notice how anakin is not with them? Makes me wonder if yoda knew anakin would fall to the darkside
Yoda: Luke, remember your failure at the cave
Every Jedi slain: yeh thanx for the heads up about order 66
Yoda: sees what happens
Anakin: his dream comes true
Yoda ignore it I will
Fast forward the clone wars is now in revenge of the sith territory.
so this confirms that Shaak ti being killed by anakin is canon?
Yes
So yoda saw
The clones killing jedi
Palpatine vs mace and the other 3 jedi
Anakin killing shaak ti
Mace being electricuted
Well one he didn't know Palpatine was Sidious and he didn't see Anakins face just a blue lightsaber stabbing Shaak Ti it could've been Anakin or Grievous
Arasn't but to yoda it could’ve been either.
@Arasn't Yoda has view fragments of the future, not all the future. We know that is the order 66, he doesn't. The future is not stable.
Qui Gon Jin:"Yoda, the sith lord you are looking for...is Palpatine"
*Rolls credits
Palpatine is a monster
I'm here after the finale episode Yoda so sorry man.
I love Yoda’s theme.
Everyone forgets that order 66 and the fall of the republic was going to happen no matter what from that point forward. No matter what Yoda does no one can change prophecy, the only thing that can change are the actions that lead up to the prophecy being fulfilled. Yoda knew this and he knew nothing could change the future.
not gonna lie, that was scary, especially the Palpatine vs Windu fight
I always wondered why at the end of the season, Yoda told the others he didn't discover anything significant. I could only come up with this explanation:
When he saw all this, this was a vision of a possible future.
Here after today’s recent episode.
interesting how when The Son showed Anakin the future he tried to resist
Yoda be all "oh whats that? and that? hmmm and that too, yes i see"
A great indicator of how Anakin always had that fear inside him, but Yoda had overcome it.
Luminara! Only if she survived! 😭
She did...but not for long
Let me explain, the Jedi never knew that Palpatine was the Emperor.
Yoda and even Obi-Wan, were stronger Jedi than Anakin was - at that time.
Saltire no he was stronger then obi wan the reason that he lost was because he was too cocky
Yoda didn’t feel inclined to even inform the council he saw this. The Jedi could have stopped sidious literally a million times
well, they were clouded by their own arrogance and by the dark side that Palpatine represented. They could never expect that a Sith Lord was right under their noses, and also the Council was already doomed to fall since they got involucrated in the wars.
The moment Sidious was appointed as Supreme chancellor the Jedi had already lost
You cannot stop the future only prepare for it. The prophecy of Anakin would be fulfilled one way or another.
How?
Yoda logic “High on crack I am, Illusion this is.” Yoda could had rlly prevent this shit but u know, Yoda do love crack.
Luminara looked like a little baddie flipping and slicing.
So to all the people judging Yoda for not doing enough, what exactly could he have done to save the order? They where fucked either way and the only thing he could do was become part of the force after death, therefore solidifying the victory of the light side.
How about order 65? Do you think that could have changed things?
Obvious plot hole is why didn't Yoda warn all the other Jedi of their impending doom? He probably did. The crucial detail left out in his vision of course was that it was Palpatine and the clones that were responsible for it. The Jedi likely knew that trouble was ahead and did all they could to prepare for it, but ultimately didn't expect it to come from behind them.
He likely just wanted to let the prophecy of the chosen one to happen,if you change something you might make a worse future after all.
Imagine being yoda seeing all those red light sabers, thinking the sith were destroyed.
The engagement with the Sith lord could also be interpreted as a focused attack, again by the Jedi.
Bloody for them, yes, but Yoda can see all of this as being proactive.
Not to mention later he sees himself and Anakin escorted by Clones against Sidious and Dooku...the picture is nowhere near accurate, and probably intentionally so in universe.
Your the idiot here.
