That spell to counter his own spell, what a chad
I see Mairsil, I click! Btw, Underworld Breach is a very fun and balanced card, wow
It's a interesting brother of Yawgmoth's will, and any card that is has ability to cast something again and again is gonna be good.
Have you seen the breach combos in modern? Kinda janky but really cool when they go off and cast bolt over and over
That Underworld Breach line was brilliant. This was a really fun game to watch!
No spoilers, but i really thought the guy who just had that huge turn would win right there and then.
Really cool game though! Loved the value the red deck had. Bit sad that Edric never found any green mana.
This is the type of magic I like to see! Competitive but weird and awesome! Some cEDH is just way to fast and broken. I feel like this is how magic should be!
cEDH without the 0-mana fast mana and things like Mana Drain is just such a different pace than usual and I love it
Mono read in cedh is usually the most expensive color especially when going the burn route
Mono white is maybe even more expensive
I find budget red cedh to be pretty affordable actually, it only gets expensive when fully optimized. The thing about red is that much, much of the deck tends to be synergistic with the commander as opposed to the number of staples in blue, multicolor, etc.
Mono red is really fun I own cedh decks personally and usually red isn't the route I go because the price but trying to go on a budget is hard especially when you start finding good cards that go with other cards
Im so happy that there was a marsil deck!!! I have one thats way more budgeted but i found a combo between nevs disk and a wall from dominaria that gives itself industructible
The budget definitely makes for exciting games
It does bring some diversity
Bravo! Great game. Loved seeing the breach player deep in the think tank trying to work through the lines of play. Nicely done
Wooo! It's good to see y'all have another video. Always stoked
Loving these Budget cEDH series! Probably the only channel that does this consistently.
That was really cool game! And that play Underworld Breach combo was epic!
That victory was S P I C Y !!!
Man that was awesome!! What a hell of a game. I loved this
Thanks for including where the budget issues were very nice touch
Damn, that win came out of freaking nowhere!
I get the slight impression that you're not used to keeping hands without the standard cEDH ramp and dual lands, that you had to cut from the decks to meet the budget requirements...
Yeah perhaps they need more lands in these decks to make up for needing to actually curve into ramp.
Yea, the hand that Bill kept only had 1 land and a 2cmc talisman ....
These budget games are so much better than seeing thassas oracle/consultation win every match
Jordan rockin' the commander with the best type line!
That was pretty cool when you lead you team to that awesome victory on thursdaynight football this week. Keep up the awesome content Baker !!!
I love your short easily watchable videos!
So excited that the mairail deck worked, I was worried he would do nothing this game. I like the necrotic ooze backup plan
I'm loving these budget series
Another great video. Well done!
Didn’t see that coming I like this budget stuff get to see different interactions then usual
More of this content! I love watching these games
Jordan should have taken damage from Nate’s Mentor for the purphoros activation at 11 minutes. Love the vids yall!
I enjoyed watching Jordan's deck going off as mono-red the way it did. I also super enjoyed Bill's big turn.. so much heart of the cards.
That edric deck idea is so neat I've had a nexus of fate collecting dust finally have a use for it now thanks
That game was awesome. The win was interesting, and well earned!
Bill's playmat is so adorable!
Love these shows.
That was a wild ride
What a nutty game, the come back!!!!
Edit: omg thanks for the likes, cant believe you guys respect me this much!!!
Wow I never saw that coming for an ending of this game. Even under budget this was an awesome game guys.
Looked fun. That Neheb seemed really cool to me.
Eventually I'd like to put together a Mairsil deck but I've just never figured out exactly how I want to do it.
That whole turn from Bill was fucking nuts.
damn, that episode was really good. usually i like them a lot but this was really interesting. havent seen this before on the channel
Wow. As an Edric player, this was incredibly frustrating. What the heck
Oh my... that win!!!
The Mairsil deck looks like the list on MTG Muddstah.
that was nuts
Does anybody know where I can get the corgi playmat? 👀
"The screw really didn't help this game" is what I thought almost until the end.
I still feel that way, as I would have liked to see what every deck can do when working properly, but it might have been worth it for the ending.
As an Edric Player - never keep hand without 3 mana to cast Edric and at least one Flying Man. Even if You have to mulligan down to five
Yep, and the decklist has 25 basic lands thats wrong, a huge mistake
And lacks dorks and mox amber effects
Mairsil and Neheb lists linked in description seem to be missing a card :)
Much longer and more interesting game somehow than high level cEDH, although a distinct lack of stack interaction to be fair, which I do enjoy, definitely fun seeing a slightly longer combo win the necrotic ooze being pretty neat.
Definitely would have been nice to see edric do anything, but hey I guess you can't have it all every time 😜
Also I was just thinking about some cool merch that you guys could do and it'll be awesome if you manage to make some 100% cotton joggers with the near mint and casually competitive logos on them.... I'd buy a pair of two of those
Rethinking my Mairsil deck a little now lol
i was waiting for Lab Maniac in the Marisal big turn
I REALLY need to start playing Breach. Every single time I get puzzled by how many cards are exiled and coudl STILL be exiled.
So what's your opinion about budget cedh after coming from the no holds barred style you guys are used to?
this could've been my pod lol we have a Mairsil player, and a Najeela player which is kind of similar to Edric. then i have a Neheb deck which is also budget but looks to turbo out Neheb on T3 and do extra combats on T4 to generate enough mana to burn everyone out
That was such a fun game ahahahah
I've been trying to find a use for my underworld breach, and my mairsil. Me likey.
What do they consider budget
a question for the Mairsil player. Why didnt you put turnabout and dramatic reversal in your deck? If i remember right, those cards are pretty budget and it helps you generate more mana than just casting lotus petal. Just wondering
my guess would be that both reversal and turnabout require some amount of setup while petal is just, you know, free
@@joaogime i guess, but appernlty even with your whole deck in your graveyard you cant get enough mana to storm off and mill everyone.
Where can I buy Casually Competitive Playmats?
The Neheb deck only has 99 cards. Any idea which card is missing?
That was fun
Love mairsil.. It's so powerful.. Good videos..
Joe when you say Nate L it sounds in my head like you're saying natal haha
Nice game, to bad Edric didn't get to really show off how powerful that deck can be.
I think you should do cedh but with not typically seen commanders.
This channel always reminds me that I am a garbage deck builder
What wsa the budget for each deck
Floating around 300
It kind of breaks my heart to se a Neheb list without aggravated assault. But that is a pet card of mine I still hope will get truly cEDH one day (donøt really think it would).
I would really like to see powerful commanders that can get out of hand no matter the cost like Urza, Jhoira or Korvold
Should Jordan should have taken 2 damage from Nate's Harsh Mentor for activating the +1/+0 ability from Purphuros?
Try the other Neheb! It’s way more fun with Alhammaret’s Archive and Aggravated Assault out!
Yeah my boy mairsil getting some love
I would like to know what is the lowest budget to make a cedh deck.
Probably Marwyn
Do y'all think krenko mob boss could be cedh?
Love my neheb deck
I think Bill didn't discard for plaguecrafter at 11:15.
*Sees a 16 minute edh game*
"Whelp, this ends on turn 2"
And then it didn't 😁
@@jlbrooks74 correct.... unfortunately
Looked shaky in the early game but the combo at the end surprised me
i'm still with my jaw dropped
I see the wrong Neheb in the thumbnail, PepeHands
Omg mairsil, for me one of the most broken commanders if you build correctly. Gimme 100 mairsil
The thing is, he didn't even cast Mairsil. Underworld Breach and Necrotic Ooze were the MVPs in this game.
@@Urd-Vidan yeah i know, but i used to play him, and at some point of the game, you cant interact with notying, u cant play permanents, etc.
Wow, where can I get a box of Nate's sleeves? I love them
I don't know if they're still available, but you'd find them on Amazon or onn inked gaming's website. Corgi sleeves.
Hey I thought Edric is banned in commander so is it still banned? If not then there may be some options for making a elf tribal draw edh deck and if Edric is banned I guess you can ask your play group to see if you can play your Edric deck
You’re think of Leovold.
@@SkaalKesh ok thnx I got confused on which commander that was banned in commander
@@Alex_Simpson711 You’re very welcome.
Moral of the story: Keep a 1 land hand and good things will happen
😅
Thada Adel, acquisitioner?🤔
Edric needs another go
There's always a budget card for wheel of fortune which that is magus of the wheel which is a creature version of wheel of fortune and that's a budget card if you dont want to hurt your wallet
Nearly five minutes just to start the game.
Really!? And despite the piss poor start of Mairsil, he wins.
Haha budget yeah right
Its proved, edric hates green, my edric never gives me green mana too
Seeing Jordan lose this game when he had a stranglehold on the table is sad. How are you producing an extra 18 mana a turn and you still can't close out the game? It is definitely nice to see someone else win on this channel besides Joseph and Jordan.
Because he had not cards in hand
@@FernandoRojas-py6fn This is why I think the new Neheb is just better, you see waaayyyy more of your deck in any given game.
Spoilers:
Maybe this was just me, but this one felt quite underwhelming. The only player who did anything was Neheb for most of the game and then Mairsil had their big turn and basically won. I feel like the game would have been basically the same if Grenzo and Edric were absent from the table.
Edric list should have taken this game easily. Sad mana screw reared it’s ugly head
Lol budget, $200, I was expecting like 60-100
Eh, cEDH can be crazy expensive. My Yarok list is 650$ and yet it's fairly cheap.
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/yaroks-budget-grindfest/
A 60 dollar deck could never even pretend to be competitive, just a food chain alone is 60 bucks. Id argue that the decks showcased here are not competitive. These are just well tuned home brews. I think the "cedh" label makes some people think of certain combos, like consultation oracle, and that brewing a commander with a valuable ability and an obvious combo synergy (like Kalamax, Chulane, Godo) would be more powerful than trying to make a "cedh" deck that feels clunky because the replacement effects for tier 1 cards are so mana intensive or the drawbacks make them anti synergistic
lmao budget cedh decks cant even be considered as competitive, more like high powered, if you want true cedh experience you better start proxying or paying 2000-14000 bucks for your decks
@@udinamursona1064 I fail to see the difference between a t1 Ad Naus with Pact vs t1 Ad Naus with Pact and a dual land lol, budget cEDH decks exists and they play out pretty much the same as any other cEDH deck.
@@enricus2479 there are deminishing returns when it comes to spending more for the deck, but what you didn't account for is the consistency, and not core strategy, budget cedh will always retain the strategy as the full powered version, but lacks the powerful cards under 4 cmc in order to get them off more consistently, I for one am actually an edric player with a full powered edric deck with gaea's cradle, tropical island and everything, and I can assure you I can get my mana bases down significantly more consistently than that budget edric could, also my win cons happen much faster than the budget edric because I got the more expensive extra turn spells and I can also control the board better with my force of Will and mana drain, if you never played full power cedh, you will never be able to feel that leap in power between cedh and budget cedh.
Its very stupid to play edric with 25 basic lands, thats why he lost. Should play max. 16
Not really a fun game to watch when two people are getting mana screwed.
$200 is not budget, that's competitive. Usually, budget means $25! You should call this Optimized decks!!!
In cEDH actually $500 still counts as budget... for EDH is a different story
@@mariochavero5390 In cEDH you play with proxies, it's basically $10. You only need some sleeves.
Haha that can be true, we personally use mainly proxies for videos cause it's easier to test out cards for one time plays with decks and it's easier than swapping cards between our existing decks.
But I would agree that even 500$ can be considered budget if you're playing serious cedh and using all real cards
Um.. first?
See this is the reason why you have to focus fire on most vulnerable. The only reason the Mairsil player won was that the Neheb player kept spreading his combat damage. He could've taken out the Mairsil in one or two turns but played quite "friendly." Neheb would've still triggered and gave him all the mana even if he targeted one person.
