This is worse than that. Vintage players get a maximum of 1 commander, which they must always pay 3 extra for and can only play once. These fine gentlemen got 3.
@@Frommerman It's also why the heavy mulligans aren't as punishing here. Your starting hand size is 10 is you have partners and lutri.
Canadian higlander (is the name of what you are refering to) is way more fun cause it has a point sistem

I love the no ban list games, but I wish someone would use the opportunity to build a unrestrained stax list to keep the turbo lists in check.
I agree but sadly Stax is just to slow. With so many ways to cheat out powerful cards and combos in such a short time span, the chance of the Stax player having anything set up in time is super low

Turbo is so much more lucrative with the Moxen.
@@nebDDa it really just isnât as good as it seems in cedh. it was banned for being unfun, not necessarily for its power. in cedh the plethora of 0 and 1 drops means it will set your opponent behind a teeny bit, but it wont really destroy a game.
I agree with everyone in the thread. Turbo is the more practical list, given moxen and other broken cards, but it makes the decks' diversity more homogenous.
CEDH shows how important turn order is in deciding who wins.
Countering that Summoners Pact was such a bad move it hurts me, if he had just countered the incoming Flash he would have effectively taken him out of the game
I love it with games like these that prove why these cars were banned in the first place, just a bit too much for the format.

There were two time vault wins. One with Zack and Griselbrand and one with Chad and Golos
You can remove the "in this format" part of your sentence and it will still be true.

Very powerful stuff! I think I'd like to see what CEDH would look like with, not necessarily NO banlist, just exploring some cards on the banlist that people don't have a good idea how they'd function in a CEDH environment. Golos + Karakas was a more interesting take than reanimator turbo. In the outro, it's mentioned that "many of us are so far removed that we don't realize just how powerful these cards really are in practice". Every once and a while, yeah, we'll see someone say Griselbrand should be unbanned, but I don't think many people at ALL would argue that mox+black lotus should be unbanned. This episode, while an entertaining showcase of banned cards in its own right, is certainly no rebuttal to those who say cards like primeval titan or coalition victory should be unbanned. I'd like to see what CEDH looks like when allowed to stay in-between legacy and vintage, rather than just full-blown vintage.

I think people are mostly contesting whether cards like biorhythm or coalition relic should be banned - not moxes and time vaults.
Would love to see some banned commanders like Griselbrand or Emrakul, maybe even in a regular vid with the special rule being any commanders?

Might be a bit of a controversial opinion but I feel like No Ban List should also play with the original companion rules
Personally I think this is better. Thereâs a lot of old rules in Magic that you could choose to go back to. Keeping it strictly about whatâs on the ban list is simple as well as interesting.

Tbh this just shows the power of Thassa's Orcale Consultation combo. That even at the peak with no banlist its stil by far objectively the best wincon in commander
Flash hulk is stronger - it can win turn 0 instant speed. This is a very small sample size of games.

@@voluntarism335 Why is it the strongest combo in the game? It requires two pieces to be resolved at sorcery speed, and 4 mana total to activate. In comparison, Flash combo is 2 mana at instant speed and can be cast t0 using Gemstone Caverns + Spirit Guide before any opponents have even played a land or in response to an opponent's attempt to go off. Also, Flash is blue which means redundant copies can be pitched for Force of Will and Hulk can be tutored for 0 with Summoner's Pact.
@@wchenful you need 4 cards in hand to be able to pull off that turn 0 win, and someone can just force of will/force of negation/their own gemstone caverns + dark Ritual + opposition agent in response
@@voluntarism335 That's fine, even without the t0 win, its a 2 card combo at instant speed vs. time vault + key which is a 4 mana sorcery speed combo, where neither piece pitches to force. It's straight up weaker.

I would just use Emrakrull, The Aeons Torn as my commander and equip her with Eldrazi Conscription, Grafted Exoskeleton, and Swiftfoot Boots. Then cast time walk to kill everyone immediately. By using Black Lotus into 3 Dark Rituals, an Eye of Ugin, and forsaken momument with wastes I could bring her out as early as turn 3.
Also Thassa's Oracle combo. T0 win.
