- In this video I am building a new canopy over the front French doors, then I remove the old tired French doors and replace with new graphite grey ones. The has completely changed the look of the house. #joinery #frenchdoors

Beautiful job as always and once you painted the arch in white it made the door pop 👍
Smart job Chris 👍👍
Lovely Job Chris as always.
Fab job, really like the frontage now👍
Very nice Chris. Interesting, the lead and tiling work. Pretty decent editing too.
Looks lovely
Looks very nice and neat!
Nice job Chris. 😎
Beautiful job
Canopy perfect👍 French doors Looks good but not practical for me, to get in you need open 2 doors🤷♂️ and after another one door🤣
Looks great pal
Thanks 👍
Nice little job that I wouldn't use the plastic membrane as a underlay but I suppose as it's all out in the open it wouldn't be a issue 👍
Nice job but I would have at least primed the backs of all the timbers to help stop them rotting from behind where they abut the brickwork.
Yes we did that
Hi Chris. Did you need to toe and heel the glass or were the doors narrow enough that that wouldn’t be necessary for this one? Great job
Yes toe and healed then bro
Did you make the timber frame/trusses or can you buy a kit? Looks great btw
I usually make them, however with the arch I didn't have time so I bought this one!
where did you buy it from mate?
@@mrwalklate84 Shropshire canopies
You missed out the part showing fitting the lead into the long top groove you cut
DPC is not breathable it will cause the timber to sweat and rot. Sorry Chris just a observation.
I think on such a small job and with it being open plan it will be ok, I wouldn't however use it on a larger enclosed roof its better to use the breathable understaters membrane as we do on extensions etc.
Hi Chris. Nice interesting upload. I love the narration too. When the line in the brickwork was cut out, it looked wonky - was this a visual thing because of the brick archwork? I couldn't work it out. Thanks in advance 🙂
Not entirely sure what you mean, the arch will make it look strange but also when grinding the grove you can’t always get it pertly strait, but when its leaded in and filled with mortar or in my job lead mate, then it fills in and looks straight
@@foundationgood123 that's exactly what I thought it was. I'd figured grinding it might have caused it but like you said, once finished it's not visible. Not a criticism, just wondered. 🙂
Hi mate nice job is that a pre formed canopy ...ie bought of shelf ....or have you made it ...👍
@@karl212 pre made Karl.
Hi Chris, just wondered what areas of the country you cover. cheers
Staffordshire and Cheshire
Can i come to learn with you please
Since the door has a curved brick line, why didn't you make a curved canopy?
well that's a good point but the client wanted this style as they had seen the one we did at her daughters house!
Isn’t using lead dangerous?
Nice job but that window frame above the doors needs to be atleast painted the same as the doors
Yes, I did mention at the start the client was gonna have all the windows sprayed to match the French Doors!
Hi
Do you cover Stockport? If so how do I make contact please?
Should have replaced arch section I’m anthracite on white to match the door.
They’re going to be sprayed along with all the windows matey!
No roof tile nails were harmed making this video.
Прошу прощения, чем вас обидел заказчик что вы ему такую безвкусицу сделали? ))
Hello Chris nice video....just wondering I know it will sound silly but where the letterbox?
They have an outside letter box on the wall, the client didn’t want one in the door.!

Thank you Chris for the clarification...
Code 3 lead!!
Give you a tenner for the old doors
😆😆😆
What was wrong with the old doors?
Knackered
Soakers go on top of the tile not the batten so you know for next time 🙄
You haven’t picked up on no tile lap then…?
@@justycrusty 😮😮 only just seen it 😂
your soakers are not fitted correctly look in leadwork book for correct detail
Nice tidy job boys 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
Thanks Steve, trust you’re keeping in the shade😆😆😆
