  • According to a 2021 Pew Research Center survey, the top reasons why Americans quit their jobs in 2021 were low pay, a lack of opportunities for advancement, and feeling disrespected at work. However, a PayScale study found that less than half of workers who feel they're being underpaid actually are earning less than peers in similar roles

I was raised by conservatives, and I’m a bit conservative myself. They were brought up to believe you should work as hard as possible and do everything you can do within your power to please your employer.
That mentality may have paid off way back in the day, but now going the extra mile is just plain slave behavior. Ever notice how the laziest (and often the fattest) staff end up in management? Being productive and proactive keeps you at the bottom.

@@MillennialSteamthere’s plenty of conservative people who recognize that the liberal policies just reinforce and perpetuate poverty. I used to vote straight blue in my younger years but I abandoned the Dem party and identify as an independent now. When I used to work at an urgent care office. The owner was an Indian and from his head office he would for the fun of it watch all clinics he had. He has about 12 clinics around the state and he would sit there and watch everyone. One time a guy was pissed got up yelled why is it taking 1 hour. You can see him on the camera jumping up and down yelling at my face. I told the guy to sit down and he's next. They have to do a procedure in the back that takes some time. I get the call from the owner again asking why was that guy jumping up and down like that. I told him why and he goes why didn't you take him to the back and triage him? I was like we only have 8 exam rooms and they're all full at the moment and I am in the middle of doing an x-ray with a patient. I had to go to the front because the receptionist needed to talk to that crazy man. We were micromanaged. We would get calls all day long about why we did this and are not doing that. I didn't get written up but they always told me you keep doing this you will not have a job. Told me to shape up.

You really don't need to do all that. I started 2 businesses and got a degree in accounting and finance. What you need is to invest in stocks and bonds to have buffer money. Companies used to do this but they instead decide to just give that money to executives. They tell you that you have to treat your employees like crap. It's to cover up the actual greed. They're too greedy and no one wants to do anything about it. In business school they teach you this invisible expense called opportunity costs. What it means... if you found a quarter on the ground you just got an opportunity to take it. A kid comes by and reaches for it. Business school teaches us to step on that kids hand and tell him to drop that quarter or else you're breaking their hand. They drop it and you take that quarter and now you're called a business man. You can look it up. They teach us this concept in business school. It's part of marketing and they make you think if you have opportunities to make 1 million dollars more then you need to train your brain to think you just lost that 1 million dollar... like that's an expense if you don't capitalize on that opportunity which means training your brain to always be greedy and always find ways to exploit people and exploit businesses. .

Debt. Work minimum wage, get stressed, stress eat, get into debt to be even able to afford that coping mechanism, hope you'll die from a heart attack and spiral downwards, as you get more stressed and do more stress eating as a cope, thus getting even more into debt.
Which is also why I never understood making fun of fat people - more than 90% of the time it's either because of underlying health conditions or unfavorable living conditions and the result of an unhealthy coping mechanism that cannot be fixed without fixing the underlying cause.
And considering the content of @MillenialStreams videos puts out, aside from all the other BS you guys do in America with your food (seriously, you don't need more than 50g of sugar a day - certain American "meals" may have that much in 100g tbqh), so it's no wonder your nation has an obesity problem. And the most disgusting part of it all is that it's not even the peoples fault - it's the fault of the corporations who have engaged in their fucking brainwashing for decades. Think tobacco lobby, sugar lobby, oil and fat lobby, "food" lobby...
Oh, and not getting enough sleep also makes you vulnerable to getting prediabetis symptoms / diabetes even if you eat healthy. And makes you gain weight even if your diet stays the same.

Then been at different jobs in the last 10 years, and every job said "We love to promote from within" or "There are plenty of opportunities" then you find out they don't follow up with their false promises. The minute you submit your 2 weeks notice for another chance to move they promise everything and again never deliver and get salty when you actually leave. I saw my useless Director who just left this week. A year ago was talking smack about me, while forgetting the false promises. Then the next sentence in his chat to the CTO was "Oh yea 20%, I am worth it." and he got it. While they are fighting me on 2% and wonder why I am leaving.

As a New Yorker, let me tell you, the reason we can’t have nice things because it is understood that we will have to give away said nice things to people not from our area or in the country illegally. This is why we need to couple any sort of liberal reforms with stricter immigration. There’s some school districts around with her absolutely crumbling and people are going to be bankrupt with the tax hikes to pay for people who shouldn’t even be in this country. I’ve noticed liberals don’t take this seriously and just wanna clap back with a sassy response like, property taxes shouldn’t pay for school. OK well some other tax is going to pay for them so why does it matter?
The fact that even saying this out loud pisses off leftists is why I will never have nice things in the country and it makes me sad.
Meanwhile we live in it every day, even the far leftists here
If we gave out free health insurance here, a small group of politicians would approve for it to be given out to illegal immigrants and then we have 3 million people flying up to New York to get free stuff.
