Using wood is a great idea. Machines have used wood components for as long as machines have been made. The South Facing Chariot was made with a wooden differential back in the days old and windmills were almost all wood. Metal has been luxury for just a few generations.

Yes, laser cut, there is a previous video showing more of the making of them. They are 3mm.

What type of wood are you using?

It's 3 mm thick birch plywood.
