A great channel. Whilst I've seen plenty of one-off Meccano parts which people have made from wood over the years, this is certainly the closest I have seen to a proper 'Meccano Set' made of wood - great job.
Loving the diversity mate, growing up my first introduction to constructions set was the Danish Bilofix, made in wood. Nothing as good as this mind you, its still sitting in a cupboard in my mother’s house, and is so crude when comparing it to what can be created now with modern milling machines and CAD. So just out of interest what’s next, carbon fibre, man made diamonds, a device to brew tea? And thank you, because this made me smile and chuckle.
Glad you liked it! Think I'll give the laser cut stuff a rest for a while now, but I'm always trying to think of something a bit different. Your aeroplane constructor set is ace. Pleased to see the videos have done well for you as well.
Thanks, I was pleased with how it turned out. I'm getting a load more cut, of both the wood and acrylic pieces. I intend to have the equivalent of a 1970s Set 9 in both of them, which will hopefully allow me to make some pretty cool looking models down the line.
Maybe eventually, although not in the first phase. I've got the set 9 wooden pieces cut out (as much as possible - can only really do flat stuff). There are programs available for free that will do the drawings for gears, so I know it is at least semi-possible. I quite like the aesthetic of having a bit of brass and metal mixed in with the wood anyway, not sure I want it totally wooden coloured.
Of course. I'll see if I can figure out how to put a link in the description, but you can pm me on facebook with your email address if you want and I'll send it over to you. I made it using a program called RDWorks, and the file type is .rld - don't know if you'll be able to open it without that software.

Thanks Neil, very kind of you.

I've just got into building wooden models, and been thinking of getting some Meccano again, not had any since I was a kid. This would be perfect.
You can have a lot of fun with normal Meccano, well worth getting some. Glad you liked my special wooden set!
LOVE IT :-D GREAT IDEA 🙂
Thank you! Cheers!
This is groovy. Another very original idea!

@@BaldyMakesStuff Dude. Excellent project. Will we potentially see some wooden gear?

@@BaldyMakesStuff Looking forward to future videos of this 👍
@@BaldyMakesStuff Yes, the aesthetic wood be quite nice. Do you accept PayPal? I would still like to get some gears from you if you can spare.
A wood-derfull idea Baldy.
Lol, I see what you did there! Thanks Chris.
Nice and biodegradable too!
Thanks Richard, I've been watching some of your videos recently. You're a clever chap!
@@BaldyMakesStuff you're too kind, it's mostly manual stuff but I do like the odd challenge!
Would you share the file? :-)

@@BaldyMakesStuff WhoopsyDoopsy, never heard of it, ha ha, but you can always sent it and i'll see what i can do 🙂 THX
@@Clinge1963 If you have AutoCad or something similar I think you will be ok.
The world is waiting for new inventions and you are playing with toys
LOL.
@@BaldyMakesStuff It was a joke
@@Lechoslowianin Yes I know, it made me laugh. Thanks :)
