Quick 0-60 test of the 2002 freightliner fs-65 with a 5.9 cummins after installing a fass ddrp fuel pump. I know the recording isn't the best but it will have to do for now. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

Damn you almost beat my 83' Ford Ranger 4x4. I've got the 2.3L with a 4 speed stick and I clocked my truck's 0-60 at 23.9 seconds while the quarter mile was 22.7 seconds.

Prius Prime can do 0-60 in 6.6 seconds, it's not even though it's that bad in general. Remember the days when anything under 10.0 was decently fast, and now we have 6.6 on an efficiency-oriented hatchback?

This bus I like. You don't see Thomas buses like these anymore. This model is one of the last Thomas Conventional buses they built. Now if you want to do a national tour, you want to leave at least either a seat behind the stairwell or have a table where you can mount your camera on for forward view shots.
When your engine is good and you install new fuel filters, it is when they are the stronger and faster

This is a 5 to 60. Either way it's a school bus, not a Honda Civic.
My freightliner p1200 with a moderate load is 28.5 ish. Doors weren’t shut, but I was manually shifting otherwise I would never have hit it due to the horrendous shifting program.

I assume you had your foot to the floor. That isn’t too bad but I had a bus similar to that up to 60 in about half that time.
foot to the floor like every school bus driver, because they are limited at speed and the acceleration on the old ones are slow. The new buses are decently fast, i saw a 2012 bluebird passing me at 75mph.

Hey bro! I’m getting ready to buy a school bus this week but I’m still figuring out how to insure it and get a title, do you think you could give me some pointers?
In every state it is different. I live in mass and all I did was go to the rmv title division and give a notarized statement saying I installed a permanently attached toilet and sink. Then I was able to get the title changed to motorhome. I took the new title to the insurance agency and got a motorhome liability policy.

FINALLY, A 5.9 WITH A 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION! It’s extremely crazy how these people thought that only a 3 speed Allison would work on the engine. But Thomas proved all of them wrong.
It’s actually a 4 speed Allison that used to be used in every bus.

I really wonder why they downgrade the power for large vehicles like this. How can the engine not run up to 3000 RPM and why does it rise so slowly?
What do you mean? Its a diesel.
@@ItsJosh ya obviously... but lots of newer diesel engines can run almost up to 4000 RPM without any trouble. Even the larger engines. They also seem to rev higher in heavy duty truck models vs larger vehicles. I guess it's just the way the gearing is.

I drive a tractor trailer. The maximum RPM on this particular engine while accelerating is 1800-1900. You’ll blow these big engines up before you reach 4000 RPM
folksforkshoax you dumb shit. Where do you do your research. I own a peterbilt and it maxes out at 2100 rpm and gets max power at 1800 rpm. Also own a dodge Cummins pickup with slightly larger engine than this bus it doesn’t rev over 3. Go back to school son. 4K rpm lmao. Plus 5.9 Cummins is a small engine and they don’t put big engines in buses. So that’s about the max. So yeah the rpms climb slow. You think that’s a good idea putting a big high horsepower high torque motor like a big 15l Cummins like a semi where it needs to haul 100tons. Yeah real safe

@@thermidorlevrai65 some of the newest ones take 20 seconds. Keep in mind they are buses which are meant to haul heavy loads like trucks they are not sports cars or racing vehicles.
