Trying to drive my Freightliner school bus through a snow bank. I didn't want to go to fast or go all at once because of the close proximity to the buildings. If the tires spun and the rear of the bus slid, I could have hit the house.

A Quick tour of my school bus that I purchased for $1300. This is a 2002 Thomas Freightliner FS65 that has a 5.9l cummins and an allison 2000 series transmission. I am in the process of doing a conversion to make it ready for a cross country trip. By the time it is finished, it wil be a skoolie/adventure bus.

Rugged Liner Bedliner Installation and Overview

Just a quick video showing the Rugged Liner Bedliner on my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummins. This bedliner is very good and appears durable but only time will tell. The only thing I noticed was the little bit of overhang on the passenger side rail which isn't even that noticeable. This could be avoided with an under the rail bedliner with rail caps on the top. Can you drive this on a car licence? I’m British. You need a special licence here.
My freightliner p1200 with a moderate load is 28.5 ish. Doors weren’t shut, but I was manually shifting otherwise I would never have hit it due to the horrendous shifting program.

Amazing work. I have a 97 4x4 with a manual. One cab mount has a hole the rest are rusty on the inside but still solid. Looked for cab mounts but seems only the front ones are made. Glad too see someone fabricated the other ones. If it comes down to it that’s what I’ll do too.

Damn you almost beat my 83' Ford Ranger 4x4. I've got the 2.3L with a 4 speed stick and I clocked my truck's 0-60 at 23.9 seconds while the quarter mile was 22.7 seconds.
FINALLY, A 5.9 WITH A 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION! It’s extremely crazy how these people thought that only a 3 speed Allison would work on the engine. But Thomas proved all of them wrong.
It’s actually a 4 speed Allison that used to be used in every bus.

@@ag6371 IT IS AN MT643, NOT AN AT545. THE AT545 REVS AT A VERY HIGH RPM AT A CONSTANT RATE. While the MT643 Operates similarly to the Allison 3000

My district bought a crap load of these but they were newer models compared to the one shown in Chase's video. The didn't have manual load doors. It was the last bus I ever rode. I particular didn't care too much for them as I preferred the conventional gassers (either the Ford, GM, or International) with the older Allison automatics that "sang". The FS65 were kinda of boring but the one diesel chassis I loved was the conventional T444E/AT-545.
Needs more fuel and a low stall converter.
