I agree with your assessment. I'm an ultra-endurance cyclist. I don't drink LMNT everyday or even every long ride. But if it's hot or I know the route I'm taking is going to be hard, I do use one packet at the start and on a really long or hard ride, a second later in the day if I've been sweating a lot. I've been prone to cramping and muscle spasms and have tried tablets (salt and products like enduralytes) and they don't work for me. You can feel a cramp starting to build and LMNT is the only product I've tried that stops the cramping within 5 to 10 minutes. Chug a bottle and cramping goes away. It's pretty amazing. I'm not sponsored BTW, I just like the product. A word of warning though... if it's not hot or you haven't been sweating a lot, too much LMNT too fast will cause GI issues, at least for me. So I tend to just use one packet unless I feel a cramp coming on.

I’m disabled and have dreadful spasms, especially during sleep. I had a pack and used it for 27 days.
I ran out and due to the cost… tried some other cheaper versions. They did not work.
After three days of not having any Lmnt, my cramps were so bad…
Did an emergency purchase and I’m finally up and moving
    It’s fantastic 😊

My spouse and I really like LMNT. We found that for someone with Crohn's or lots of liquid output (like when one is sick) this is the best way to feel better fast with the possible exception of a saline/mixed infusion.
Also, water down your drink. We use a packet with about 30 oz. Of (yes COLD) water for optimal flavor. And I do love the mango jabanero, but not everyone loves heat. 😅 Your videos are getting better btw! Pacing and editing helps a lot!

Correction: it's not "a gram of salt". It's 1,000 mg (1 gram) of SODIUM. I'm sure you know this and just said "salt" when you meant sodium. Our common vernacular annoyingly interchanges these terms, so it's understandable.
To those who don't know: salt is sodium CHLORIDE (NACL). So a gram of salt is not a gram of sodium, it's actually only

Hi Peter! I feel that I get enough sodium from my daily plant based whole foods meals. For the odd times I do need more salt (summertime here in Fort Worth 😛), I'd rather spend my extra salt requirements on adding some dry roasted and lightly salted peanuts to my salads! LMNT: Uses Maltrodextrin as a binding agent in their flavored packets:
Maltodextrin can have several potential health risks, including:
    Blood sugar spikes
Maltodextrin has a higher glycemic index (GI) than table sugar, which means it can cause blood sugar to spike shortly after eating. This can lead to a spike in insulin, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels.
    Gut bacteria balance
Maltodextrin can reduce the number of good bacteria and increase the number of harmful bacteria in your gut. This can lead to intestinal damage and increase the risk of inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Maltodextrin can also suppress the growth of probiotics, which are important for immune system function.

A lot of people are magnesium deficient which is why you see so many reviews that describe this product as life changing, it's definitely worth supplementing magnesium. As for sodium/potassium, you shouldn't need to supplement those as long as you make sure you don't have a shit diet. Gotta keep these things in mind when you're making breakfast/lunch/dinner and you won't need to waste money on products like this, as products like these only really work when you're doing something wrong.

With LMNT, I've heard Dr. B (the vegan gut doctor) say electrolyte mixes are also too much salt. Now I have a good idea if I ever do get these. A few years ago I liked the RealSalt electrolytes (not remembering the branding) which gave me energy and came in a tub. I like the reduced packaging of that option.

  • @DC-FGC

tbh the high amount of sodium compared to the other 2 confuses me. DRA sodium is 2300mg and potassium is 3400mg(though I do accept that you need more, especially on certain diets and/or if you exercise a lot). So you need less sodium, *and* it's easier to get(much, much easier), and they give you 1000mg. You need *more* potassium, *and* it's harder to get, but they only give you 200mg? As the kids say, the math ain't mathing.
It still tastes good, tho. I don't mind the saltiness at all, and the watermelon and citrus flavors are superb. Orange and raspberry were also nice. Some of the flavors were weird - mango chili tasted like spicy grapefruit, and the actual grapefruit flavor didn't taste like much of anything at all(generic "fruit" flavor that wasn't even recognizably citrus).

I’m trying to find something that doesn’t have a ton of sodium because I have kidney disease I get severely dehydrated all the time. And the myth about water is a myth. I drank nothing but water for years and I mean a considerable amount daily. Doctors still say you are severely dehydrated. So I need something that will hydrate me but with the least amount of sodium possible. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I stay thirsty all day long and night. So I keep water on my night stand. I do not have a fluid restriction, and I’m not on dialysis. I have one kidney that is on a by pass. So I need to keep my electrolytes up. Can’t have a lot of bananas. But anything else I can. No chocolate, no caffeine. I’ve done plant based before but again I have to be careful with the sodium. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing! So take this with a grain of salt (pun intended...gotta practice dad jokes for future kids). If you're eating a well-balanced diet there's a good chance you're getting the sodium you need through that. In addition to sodium, spinach, pumpkin seeds, cashews, and most beans are good sources of magnesium, which can round out your electrolyte profile.
One other thing to consider is the sugar mix. Hydration isn't just sodium, it's also glucose. So adding a small amount of maple syrup with a tall glass of water could potentially help, hypothetically.
      Hope you find this useful!

Overpriced minerals. Just put a little Himalayan pink/sea salt, squeeze some lemon juice, and a tsp or two of honey. That's it.

I dont think you mentioned anything about the magnesium in the drink? Nor the elephant in the room issue of salt/blood pressure put forth by American Heart Association (reduce salt intake by a tsp every day), which this product poo poo's.

Do you know of Sally Norton she is a dietitian bachelorette from Cornell university and Masters degree in Public Health a vegan herself. You should check her out. Good stuff! I only drink LMNT with a large flask of water only way too salty. I just not sure of the stevia and I just finished my sample pack. I really loved Liquid IV full sugar. Not just the taste but how it made me feel. I felt very hydrated. Not so with LMNT. Good luck, thanks for your review!

I started with the 20 buck pak with samples LMNT and decided to order the big box and I clearly stated No subscription but today I got another box and I still have 3/4 of the first box. At 135 bucks a box I cannot afford more of the LMNT paks. CAREFUL FOLKS!
