I always thought a great example of Kanye’s narcissism was when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs. How self-important to think anyone cared about his opinion in that moment.

I’m someone who had a relationship in the past with a man who I thought was wonderful at first then as his behavior escalated I thought “just needed some mental health help”…and it almost killed me. Since then I’ve really noticed the trend of calling abusers mentally ill. Maybe some are mentally ill, maybe some aren’t but being an abuser is *not* a symptom of mental illness. I really wish the media and public in general would call abusers abusers. This is a very serious topic, not to be taken lightly. The abusers tactics aren’t cute, funny or entertaining. People say of the abuser, “oh they need help”. And maybe they do, eventually, but the person who needs the help more immediately is the target of the abuse.

Gotta start targeting the toxic behaviour patterns instead of concentrating on whether someone has a diagnosis. Plenty of people with a diagnosis are not problematic, plenty of people without any diagnosis are predators and toxic for others in their life. Patterns should be paid attention to more than they are.

I watched a video on OJ Simpson this week, and with that in the back of my mind, I really think Kanye West's behaviour really needs to be addressed as abuse. These situations can escalate quickly with devastating consequences.

Told my Mom what is so eerie with all of this behavior to me, is that Kim’s dad was a lawyer on a case for a man who was also stalking a woman until she was dead. I don't have BD, but I'm glad I'm not alone in noticing the problem. I can't just excuse my own behavioral problems by saying 'I have ADHD, so that's why'. I have to take my meds and practice behavioral therapy techniques. Even if these antics of his were due to his BD, that doesn't make those antics suddenly 'okay'. Cheers to those of us who take responsibility of our mental health. May we find the fortitude to handle whatever life throws at us.

What I hate about this situation is how lightly people seem to be taking it. If a man that wasn’t famous was harassing and stalking his ex, people would think he’s awful. Instead people are making jokes and memes about it. For people who are survivors of abuse like this it os disheartening to see.

Honestly, I couldn't name a Kanye song, but I can defend him. He seems to just be unorthodox. While the good doctor may not appreciate the music video, it sounds a lot like art to me. Like honest to goodness art where the artist has an interpretation of symbolism that may be difficult to interpret for most people. It looks like the kind of thing people in a gallery would claim to understand so they can pretend to be more "enlightened" or perceptive. _And yes, I understand how that sounds as you read on, but I'm not diagnosing his art, I'm simply saying what could be happening in a case like this._ It seems a little bit more like pop art to me, but not in a completely pretentious way, in a way that genuinely reflects his preoccupation with materialistic trends and an inability to create what he perceives to be a universal connection with his audience. I see it as a cathartic outlet for the genuine pain that comes with attempting to reconcile the loss of a life he dreamed about and believed to being manifesting.
I'm not well versed on Picasso's personality or what his actual relationship was with whoever, but didn't he chop his ear off as a sign of commitment to someone? And if you look at his art, you see many styles being expressed and how he puts his feelings into it. I see it as someone trying to put their finger on what they feel without having a dialect to communicate it clearly.
Again, I know nothing about the Kanye, or his relationship with Kim Kardashian. I do know that when I saw the frames of the video presented here, along with the information Dr. Grande provided, what I saw was not a man looking to be violent and kill the hypotenuse of his love triangle. I saw a man who was willing to put the problems he faced far behind him. Once the past was buried, he was willing to tend to the relationship until the love had regrown to what it was before. And from what I know about Kim, she seems addicted to drama and turning it into a spotlight for her. And skete skete Davidson, if I am right about who he is, is part of the least funny cast of Saturday Night live in the history of the show with less talent than the contents from the last time I flushed a toilet, so that could be influencing my preference towards Kanye.
As for this being "stalking," "harassment" and "abuse," as was said here, I wish it was. I'm sure you would have preferred to have just cheated on the father of your children and the man you committed your life to, while not having to hear about how you made him feel for ruining his life when you decided not to work things out but to instead run away. That's your own guilt being triggered and the pain of suppressing it to maintain your own cognitive dissonance. Speaking from experience with 18 years of actual abuse, cheating, and gaslighting, this looks like a picnic in paradise. It's very hard to believe that you have experience with an ex that did something similar and they ended up killing you, unless your ghost is typing for you. All the negative prospects that are spoken about, in the comments above, are conjectures stated in a way that makes you sound like you are pretending to be psychic. If this is a message of intent, who are the roses intended to go to when Pete is out of the picture? While I appreciate the concern of sending a distorted view to those with weak minds who are easy to influence, I hope you see the hypocrisy. It seems like someone or something has influenced you guys to believe that you can not only diagnose his behavior, but you have also decided you can predict the future and say exactly how people will react.

I can only imagine the psychological torture this must be for the ex partner on the receiving end of it. He has put multiple members of her family in the firing line too. No one is safe. If you’re someone who thinks love is the pursuit of possessing your partner unconditionally, then you really don’t have any idea of what loving someone means. To me it means truly wanting what’s best for someone, outside of what your own desires are. The first thing I thought of when I read that Kanye was referring to Pete as Skete, was skeet shooting where they use clay targets. I wondered, does he want Pete shot?! And now Kanye has the animated music video where he kidnaps and buries a figure resembling Pete Davidson up to his neck in sand on the beach. This is dangerous because Kanye has his fans all riled up and on his side. I also find Kanye to be a hypocrite since he has dated almost half a dozen women since his split from Kim and she appears to have only dated one. I think Kanye might be coming unhinged. @@bossblck6399 That has nothing to do with Kanye alienating Kim. Completely irrelevant to this situation. It’s not like Kanye and Mac were friends or frequent collaborators anyways. Kanye never gave a shit about Mac in life or death, he’s just exploiting Mac’s suicide as a way to get under Pete’s skin and give Pete bad publicity. Kanye plans on harassing Pete and dragging his name through the mud to the point where his fling with Kim is not worth it anymore.
What gets lost in this situation is that Kim is finding happiness with Pete. The pics of her with Pete when they first started seeing each other show her to be vastly, VASTLY more happy than she was in the last three or four years of marriage to Kanye. Instead of reflecting on his own shortcomings that ruined his marriage, Kanye continues to deprive Kim of happiness by chasing out a person that brings her joy in life.
Kanye has, IN MY OPINION, appeared mentally ill for a long time. As far as helping Kanye to make that video….as with most things these days….MONEY TALKS.

I have BP type 1, and when I’m psychotic I hallucinate, both aurally & visually. I know I have delusional thoughts, which started when I was 12, and have continued 57 years. I’m aware of these thoughts being delusional, but I can’t stop them. BUT, I can live with them, because I know them for what they are.
Part of my problem is I can’t take antipsychotics of any kind. I had Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome several years ago, my Pdoc tried a few different meds, which catapulted me back into NMS immediately. (And, if Dr. Grande has any suggestions for me to ask my Pdoc about, I’d love it. I’m currently on gabapentin, trileptal, and Lexapro).
I’ve always found Kanye’s fixation on Kim to be a little worrying, even before they got together. and it seems like she felt it too, because she resisted him for a long time. when they became a thing, he immediately overhauled her entire image and wardrobe, and while I think Kim found it acceptable because it truly transformed her into a real A-list celebrity, the reality is that Kanye was controlling everything about her image like she was a doll. it seems like he adored her as an object, but not as a person, and her getting away from him after he must have felt like he secured her forever seems to be causing all this. I don’t even like the Kardashians, but all of this is just abuse, and Kim deserves better, like all human beings
Kim did jump into a relationship with Pete rather quickly. Why isn't her behavior analysed? I don't believe she should be harassed, but she had done some strange things also.
During several of Kanye's performances she came on stage wearing a wedding dress and enacting some kinda wedding scenario with him. This was after thier splitting up.
I am a firm believer in taking your meds and not harassing your partner and her lover, but this whole thing could be a sick attempt at getting publicity from all people involved.

I thought deep down Kanye meant well but I can’t excuse or defend this. I’ve lost a lot of respect for him. He’s acting scary and abusive and suffocating his ex. He’s the one that left and he’s the one that cheated and now he thinks he owns her and she’s betraying in some way because technically their divorce isn’t finalized when he’s dated at least 4 women since they’ve been separated. He says he doesn’t “negotiate with therapists” and it shows a complete inability to reflect on his behavior.

@@MelindaMc he was very infatuated with her and defensive of her early in the relationship when she was somewhat of a pariah in Hollywood. They were friends for a long time before they dated so I’m sure she thought they would have a stable marriage. Him leaving the state, not seeing his family for such a long time and sleeping around was probably the final straw. I just feel bad for the kids

Great job in analyzing this case. I find it ironic that, while Kanye refuses to participate in any treatment, Pete Davidson was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in 2017 and had embraced treatment. He found it s relief to finally have a diagnosis and found that a combination of DBT and medication helped him through the toughest times and onto a path to a happy and healthy life. Pete makes people laugh for a living; Kanye rarely cracks a smile. In a way, Pete is the anti-Kanye.
Pete being open about his treatment and meds really helps me. And he's funny. Kanye.... Kanye reminds me to take my meds
Yes, Pete has talked very candidly and openly about his mental health struggles and seemed genuinely committed to his recovery and wellbeing. He’s an excellent example of how mental illness doesn’t have to define you. Especially with such a stigmatised diagnosis like BPD, he could so easily have kept it private, but instead he is helping break down some of that stigma. I really admire him for that.
Three levels of self awareness in BPD. Clearly Kanye has no self awareness.

I think his behavior and threats are scary and dangerous. Someone needs to press charges before he does something that can't be undone. Maybe he would be ordered to get testing and therapy.
Kanye was barely a husband and father before, so this feels so performative. He took off to Wyoming to make music for months during covid, leaving Kim with all 4 kids alone.
Kim does not deserve this harassment (no one does). However, she was a fool to take him back after his first 51/50 mental health hospitalization. He refused to consistently take meds after that, but Kim and Ye chose to have 2 more kids within months after getting released from the hospital.
Did you know that Kim wanted to get a abortion with a few of third kids?

Thats why he said in his rant, Kim saved North’s life.
