      I'm glad to hear that you successfully replaced your rear brakes and discs! However, it sounds like you're experiencing some issues with your handbrake and brake pedal feel. Here are a few common reasons for these problems:
      Handbrake Adjustment: When you replace the rear brake pads and discs, it's important to ensure that the handbrake mechanism is properly adjusted. If the handbrake is pulling all the way up, it might need adjustment to reduce the travel distance. Most vehicles have an adjustment nut or bolt located near the handbrake lever or under the center console. Consult your vehicle's manual or a repair guide for specific instructions on adjusting the handbrake.
      Air in the Brake Lines: If your brake pedal feels spongy, it may indicate that there is air in the brake lines. When you perform a brake job, it's possible to introduce air into the brake system, which can affect brake performance. You may need to bleed the brake lines to remove the air. Bleeding brakes is a procedure that requires a partner or a brake bleeder kit. Follow your vehicle's specific bleeding procedure to remove any air from the brake lines.
      Brake Fluid Level: Check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir. If it's low, it can also cause spongy brake pedal feel. Make sure the brake fluid is at the recommended level and add more if necessary. Use the correct type of brake fluid as specified in your vehicle's manual.
      Brake Pad Bedding: Ensure that the new brake pads and discs are properly bedded in. This involves a process of gradually applying the brakes to heat and seat the brake pads against the discs. Incorrect bedding can result in poor brake performance. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for bedding in your specific brake pads and discs.
      Brake Caliper Adjustment: Check that the brake calipers are properly aligned and adjusted. Incorrectly positioned calipers can lead to uneven brake pad wear and issues with the handbrake. Make sure the calipers are securely mounted and that the brake pads are making even contact with the discs.
      Quality of Brake Components: Make sure you used high-quality brake components that are compatible with your vehicle. Low-quality or incorrect parts can lead to performance issues.
      If you've checked these common issues and the problem persists, it's recommended to have your vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic to diagnose and address the specific issue with your brakes and handbrake. Your safety on the road depends on having a properly functioning braking system, so it's essential to address these issues promptly

      @sanumotorswithcharlie Thanks for the additional info. I don't think it's air in the lines as we never opened them up. I think it could be the pads and discs not bedding in just yet, this was literally just after I had done it, I've drove 50 miles home, but nearly all were motorw miles, I'll see what it's like on a test drive. The hand brake comes all the way up, this is what I do need to do.

    Did u crack the bleed nipple Before pressing the brake and is this the Ford transit 270?

      @sanumotorswithcharlie  Před rokem +1

      If system work well ( no air in system) callipers working well, no need to open bleeding points,
      You can open fluid reserves cap.
      Thanks

      Great helpful video. 2 other tips: 1. when separating old disc from hub hit the disc all the way round with a hammer a few times. 2. When taking the new pads out the box make sure you don't put in both pads the same on the one caliper.
