I dont know anything about watercoloring but something about this palette in particular is really calling me to start
I love watching your videos in general but the sketchbook habit videos have been really nice to just put on and chill while drawing with. sometimes it even makes me wish we could get a “draw with me” style video where it’s just real time and you can talk as much or as little as you want

aaa this is so nostalgic!! I remember this original drawing haha. Seeing your art style develop over the years has been amazing. I remember when you used to use copics and I remember your “cute and tough” (some thing along those lines?) art with the glitter and rhinestones glued on it being showcased!

This throws me back to when I first came across Juicy Ink omG the nostalgia ❤️ I remember how much you inspired me since that time, Tori!! I guess you can still see the some traces of inspiration in my current style even now, four years later! Even though our styles have now deviated from each other (I love how art grows with the artist!), you still are a huge inspiration to me! I'm so happy that you decided to make the sketchbook habit series so I get to see videos everyday ❤️❤️ (I also miss it during weekends TuT but you are right in taking breaks!)
Ahhh I feel like I’ve been telling you to try these forever!! This moment is so cathartic for me! Personally I found these to be like the more professional version of the kuretake gansai tambi because there’s a juiciness from both of them but the mijellos are more closer to traditional watercolors. And gosh, the LUMINOSITY of the opera and lemon yellows and yellow deep and yellow orange. I remember swatching them when I first opened them and gasping. I think you’ll like these because there are some stand out colors they allow me to achieve smooth skin and shading but also bright washes. I do have to warn that sometimes when making mixes, the pigments will start to separate and you’d have to swirl it around again but it seems to only happen for me with colors on opposite spectrums. And I know how much you love reusing dried mixes on your palette and I’ve had experiences with rewetting my palette and the washes being more granular. It’s not something that I’ve fully tested but I think you should experiment to see if that happens to you.

I picked up 12 single tubes from Mijello last year after doing some pigment research. I wanted to get a stable but also fun palette, an all rounder and I love it so much.
If anybody's interested, I have the lemon yellow, permanent yellow deep, scarlet lake, quin permanent rose, rose madder, compose violet, ultramarine light, cerulean blue, greenish blue, bamboo green, burnt sienna and Payne's gray 😊
Personally... I really love the Pure Pigment set. 🎨💝
I would carefully buy multipigment blends. Some don't mix very well but I also enjoy the Greenish Yellow a lot. It mixes very similar like Green Gold (PY129). I got the set back in July for my birthday. 😊
Mijello got a good job selecting single pigment colors with that set I think. I also like Cobalt Turquoise a lot. 💙

My favourite mijello watercolour paint is probably the lavender one. I bought a few individually from Jacksons art store but its the only one I put in my palette. Its really nice

✨ I have the pure pigment set. It’s gorgeous. ✨ the tubes are generous in amount. But I would play with the set you have that has single pigments and see what you think and can live with. Before purchasing more. Which I will say and can’t lie. I love art supplies! Lol
You should make a video on your art supplies... I'm looking for your little handmade watercolor pallets. I saw it in your decarding art supplies video. And yes for this video my number one and most favorite water color is Daniel Smith 😍... and I really like the way you do art❤
If your palette doesnt pool well, rub white toothpaste on it then leave it thr for awhile (30 min) then wipe off. Boom! It works really well 10/10 recommendation

Mijello was my first professional watercolor upgrade, and despite me not using them mainly anymore, they still have a special place in my heart. When I developed my painting habit, I found Daniel Smith and Old Holland far more compatible with me, and sold my 12 Tubes and 16 wells Palette to another artist. Tubes I still own from that brand are: Bright Opera, Shell Pink and Davys Grey. :>

Btw, I GET YOU SO MUCH on that impulsiveness thing. I have so many projects in my mind that most of the time when I have a chance to focus on personal works it overwhelms me and I don't know what to do, but sometimes I just get this idea I *have to do* and I start working on it immediately hahaha

When I was back home in the Philippines, I stumbled upon a small art shop with a really good selection of art supplies and art classes (It was awesome!). I picked up a 15 ml tube of the Prussian blue and let me tell you, I love it! It's so vibrant and pretty. I would've opted to buy the shell pink colour instead of the Prussian, but they were unfortunately out of stock! I got the exact set for Christmas and have been loving the vibrancy of them. I hope you really do enjoy these paints as much as a lot of us do! Happy Tuesday!

Oooh i really enjoy mijello mission gold but where i live they're a bit expensive... i do love the light red (very earthy has pbr23 mixed with 2 other pigments i don't remember) and i also really like the pbr 23 red brown i think that's the name.. 💖💖💖

your current style but I wonder how it would compare only a year or so later.
I've bought the individual tube of their Manganese Blue hue (they don't mark it as a hue though), and while not as vibrant or granulating as the genuine stuff, it's still rather lovely. I really want to get some of their single pigment tubes (Indanthrone blue PB60, Burgundy Red PR177) but it'll have to wait for now. If you're able, check out their Rakuten page they have the 7ml tubes... just not sure if you can have it be delivered, but worth a shot!
I’ve been enjoying your sketchbook habit series and am interested in where you end up going with these paints. I use Rembrandts and love them but have been looking for a second line of paints to learn and play with. The Mijello single pigment set is one I’m considering, but I prefer a more limited palette so I’m trying to decide if the individual tubes are worth it.

I pay so much attention to the way you paint and try to learn something new. I’ve been hating my drawings for the last few days (for obvious reasons) but this made me feel better! My current favorite watercolors are Schmincke maybe in the future you can try them☺️
Try using The Master's Brush cleaner for your brushes. I swear by it in keeping my brushes well cared for.
As for the art, absolutely gorgeous.
This is so cool. I have a pretty big schmincke set I always use and just recently thought.... Hm, maybe I should finally get some TRUE primary colors? 🤔 😂 So maybe I'll get the mijello ones? 🙈
I’ve purchased 2 single 15ml tubes; Rose Madder and Hookers Green. Love them both but I use the Hookers Green almost every day.

I love the single pigment set, the edition with the cobalt color (I think). The colors are very nice and again, best moody mix with the ultramarine+vandyke brown :)
Etchr is going to be my splurge when I’m finished with my no-buy. The brand looks dreamy but I feel as though I would be so scared to use it since I’m not really a watercolorist. I need practice for sure!

I love your videos, I'm getting my first Daniel Smith paints soon, I used senniela watercolour before now I bit want to try granulating paints so I'm getting a small pallete and 3 primaryish colours to go with my other three senniela tube paints!I can't wait and I am getting them from my local art store to support them in this time
Beautiful piece, Tori! This makes me miss the Oui yogurt jar I used to use for my watercolor water before I moved. I wish I’d brought it with me. Good excuse to buy more yogurt, though! (Although I’ve kind of graduated from Oui to Noosa yogurt, which comes in plastic instead of glass. Noosa is the best yogurt I’ve ever had. Mmmmm.)
