Never apologise for wanting to spend time with family whether its taking a day to check up on them and all! especially in a time like this. Tell them your bon bons love them and wish them well. we love you tori!
ahhhh it's so weird seeing you paint me xD but please let me buy a print of it i want to have a physical copy so bad, i love it thank you for this
The little red nose at the end was the cutest! Were you able to get a print? Lol
I limited my color palette to my least favorite 3 colors and made one of my favorite paintings in a long time
What were the colors?
@@beannaeb462 ultramarine blue burnt sienna and carmine red (i did not choose these but i did the three color challenge and put my tubes in a hat those were the three i pulled out 😊)
I love your mark making and the way you blend your watercolors!!😻😻😻😻😻
Please do not feel the need to apologize for wanting to take a breather and wanting to check in with your family. These are really stressful times. We will always be here for you, Tori. Please take care!❤️❤️❤️
it wasn't the subject of the video but... I learned so much about shadow and light in what... 5 minutes ?
I like the transcription of the emotion ! And that lightness while being "heavy" with the shadows and saturated layers !
It's okay to work at your own place. We are living through some stressful times. Take care of you. ❤
Mmm the contrast is so strong, you’re so confident with your colors! Totally admiring your skills! ❤️😳
I'd slap down a bob of paint with all of my overconfidence and regret it immediately 😂
The whole point of a sketchbook is that there are no rules, you can't cheat it's just impossible!
I need to take a moment to write something. I love how you actually take time to play with new paint, experiment, learn how it behaves etc before giving your full opinion about it. I know it can sound as something obvious but I've seen many people from all fields review a product they barely got to use.
Also the portrait turned out gorgeous!!
I love this sketchbook series so much, it really gives me something to look forward to at the end of each day. I've been having trouble keeping up motivation as I adjust to working from home in these weird times (even though I am so grateful to still be able to work). This series also inspired me to randomly pick up my art tools again. I used to be fully immersed in art constantly but I haven't really done anything for the past 5 years due to being in school, and now I'm proud to say I've kept up a sketching habit for almost a week now. It feels wonderful to rediscover why I used to love art so much
It is so hard to make my watercolors not muddy yet you do such a good job at it!😣👍 it's also pretty hard for me to do a limited color palette different every single time and if it's isn't different every single time I get annoyed at myself and say I'm not creative enough. You're amazing at art!😍😆❤
I used to struggle with mixing colors so much! czcams.com/video/mFUwh31gTXo/video.html This video really helped me a lot both with mixing and color theory, so maybe give it a shot?
SketchPuppy love the pfp!
Thanks for the tip!😊
Thanks for my profile is from my hero Academia.❤
Watch James Gurney's channel, he has a TON of videos on working with a limited palette (gouache and watercolor) he also has videos and a blog about "Gamut masking", this will help you on how to choose a limited color palette harmoniously.
I have a hard time sleeping because I think too much. But everytime I watch your videos, it puts me in a good mood. Your voice is the loveliest and so is your art. Thank you for producing these types of videos. Much love!
I'm Vietmese and I love your art so much!!!🌷
Another lovely painting. Thank you for continuing to share your art with us!
that golden tube is really beautiful 😊😊
Please do not stop posting every day after your sketchbook habit series is over. I enjoy watching you videos so so much. 😃😃😃
All your work is so pretty omg
i'm glad you're taking space to take care of yourself! 🥰 that's the most important thing, especially now.
beautiful work!! i'm very timid with dark, juicy colors in my own work, so it's extremely helpful and inspiring to watch you use them. thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous... The process for this is simply stunning, and deeply motivational. I can't wait to whip out my watercolors, and paint later myself! So glad I subscribed to your channel.
No need to apologize for having to spend time with your family, or tend to life needs. It's especially important for these times.
super sweet you drew your patron! it turned out great !
I can't remember if you've done one on Juicy Ink but have you made some sort of skin 'tutorial' before? or at least some sort of video showing colours you use to mix up skin colours? I'm having a lot of trouble and always end up muddying the colours
Ngl you’re the only person who motivates me to paint... love you!! ❤️❤️
Another lovely portrait 💜 it's interesting to see how those colours work for making a portrait 🙂
Beautiful portrait! (and I'm so bummed your VD brown is no bueno!!)
That Prussian blue looks gorgeous!
Eve Bolt - Art & Cats me too! We win some, we lose some.
So cool
i love how you put down these bold strokes with a flat brush, looking totally random and wild, but then in the end it's just coming together so seamlessly.
Only comment here, that i'm not 100% sure her eyes are in level. The left one seems a tad bit higher.
I want to get into this challenge too. I love your videos. Very motivational
Fantastic artwork
Hey tori!! I wanted to ask you if you have any colors from daniel smith that you would recommend? I am making my own daniel smith palette and am trying to decide what colors I want.
I am not tori haha, but the primary and secondary sets are definitely a great place to start, then you can fill in the rest of the pallet with colours you feel you need more of or are lacking :)
Harriette Papanakos thanks so much! 💕
Watching your videos is always so nice and calming keep up the great work 💕. Also was wondering if maybe sometime down the road you could do a video on how to paint lips/eyes /skin tone well how your process is to achieve it (idk if I made anynsense😭)
Nice painting mam...
💚💚💚💚💚💚
These videos are making me want to go out and buy new paints so much! But i JUST bought 4 new Daniel Smith tubes that cost almost $90 (yikes) So now i have to wait a bit to get new ones hahaha.
Do you think a set like this is good for seeing a larger range of colours/ pigments available to then invest in those same colours and pigments in the more higher end brands?
hi tori!! i doubt you'll see this but do you have any watercolor set recommendations??? esp for an intermediate level that doesn't cost too too much
Hey! I hope this is helpful but after watching Tori's videos over and over again, it seems like she likes the prima watercolors ($20 to $30) and the Daniel Smith essentials ($30). Daniel Smith's is currently out of my budget. But I recently got a prima set and I'm so excited to get it in the mail.
Edit: I just realized that i recommended the smaller sets. 😂 It's just that I prefer them. I don't like big pallettes.
I've heard St. Petersburg White Nights being a good professional grade watercolor for a good price. A 12 set of full pans goes for about 30 USD on Amazon, and their student line, St Petersburg Sonnet, which has about the same quality as the professional save for a few colors, goes for 24 USD for a set of 18 full pans on Amazon
Well you asked tori and not me but my two cents: i agree with the person before me, WHITE NIGHTS! They are professional qualitiy and so cheap it wont make you feel bad to just mess around with them and learn :)
I agree with all these comments here 👍 if Daniel Smith is crazy expensive in your country, opt for the white nights
Your voice is so nice. :)
Question… how long was it to finish this painting? I know it’s on ff but what’s the real time? And thank you for your paintings.. 💙💙
😭🖤
Take care Tori
Hi, tori I just wanna ask something. I want to watercolor but I usually want to paint portraits but I am discouraged due to me not having my own style. What do you think I should do?
@Jessica I’m not Tori 🤓 but I have figured out that by painting/drawing (practising a lot) you will automatically find a way to do your art in way that defines you. I notised after a while that I enjoyed a specific way of painting. For example: I started of by copying (not to sell!) a lot of different artists and after a year or so I started noticing when I painted in my sketchbook that I always was drawn to paint flowers or big girl faces where I painted a really big eyes or a girl with a really long hair. I did realize that my style to paint is exaggerated facial shapes and exaggerated floral details just because I’m drawn to paint/draw like that just because it is what gives me the most satisfaction and joy!
I hope this will help you a little😀 eventhough I’m nowhere near as talented as Tori 😊
@@katnilsson Thank you so much for your input. I haven't really thought about what appeals to me but I think what other artists like, sounds dumb but I do. Thank you and I will see what I like in my paintings. I don't care if you're not as talented as tori because we all have something special in our art
@Chill Out Ig I have been caught up with trying to have my style a lot that I haven't been drawing for a while now. Thank you but I have a question if landscapes are the only thing a draw is that ok?
@Jessica Of course it is 😀. You will eventually either move on to something new or tweak how you draw or paint! As Chill Out said just relax and let the art lead you. Just paint and draw without thinking if others will like it or not. I started my sketchbook collection (as many other artists) where I paint and drawn what ever I like 😀. Experiment a lot with your chosen style or with new/old mediums. Good luck 🍀
Quick question: what do you mean by fugitive colors? You use that a lot and I'm not sure what you're trying to get across.
what do you mean by fugitive? are those colors that are not light fast?
yep
What is your ig handle? I just love your flowiness and technique it’s truly ONE OF A KIND I’m dying to binge watch all your content! I wish i could afford to be a patreon rn but i can’t :( please never stop sharing your talent with us all :)
Would you mind sharing the reference picture? (If that’s ok with you)
as in for others to draw? I'm sorry, I'm unable to pass the photos along, I do not have permission. Senshi stocks does a pretty good job if you need reference photos!
Victoria Gedvillas alright, that’s fine! Thank you so much!
I dont get the dislikes on such videos
Purest color mixes come from cyan, magenta, and yellow. They’re the true primary colors and yes you can make red by mixing magenta and yellow, blue from magenta and cyan, and any other color you want except probably black or white
The contrast and tones are so strong for a Caucasian it seems a bit unreal
Beautiful strong colour style......but not a fan of red noses that every artist is giving their subjects..... please paint what you see, not whats in fashion. ( japanese button red noses ).
Fredee Moon granted the red went on a lot stronger than I intended, I don’t mind the red nose look. Please refrain from pressuring artists to conform to your preferences.
Will do ...😄🧡🧡🧡
Im artist myslef so i understand.... i beg forgiveness on mh knees xx
