anyone else in love with the way she says "itchy"?
I love it is cute.
l'm black and have locks and l think ur locks are beautiful so never mind the haters
Honestly I've seen more white people complain about white people having dreadlocks than black people
Really wow, never new
+Premium Corpse me too
+Premium Corpse IKR thats what I'm saying the whole time! ^^
me too
Why are so many people saying she can't have dreadlocks cuz she's white?? It's a hair style??? I don't understand??
it's a thing called cultural appropriation
actually, white people, especially in northern European countries, wore locs. it's not just a "black" hairstyles. Norse, druids, vikings whatever else they were called, wore their hair like this as well.
Skip Luc not saying that she can't get it, but the reason why white people aren't meant to get dreadlocks is because their hair produces too much oil which causes mold inside of the dreadlocks unlike African American people because their hair is designed for kinky hair styles like dreadlocs because it is thick and it naturally mattes up and creates locks on its own when not home or brushed for an amount of time
Complicxted oooooo what are you hairstyle police or what ok then all the white people should just shave their head and should go bald including me
Skip Luc her hair isn't the right texture it damages her hair
Her accent is so cute
Zaakiyah King yah it is soooo cute
OK let's me make this clear first I am a black woman and I'm not considering getting dreads I just ran across this video and personally its OK but some of the comments shows just how ignorant the world really is for one anyone should be able to wear whatever whenever wherever they please as long as its appropriate and as a black person I know how it feels to be treated differently because of skin color but I can say that I never played the race card what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong no matter what the situation or who u are so what I'm saying all that to say is that a lot of the time we bring it on ourselves because we start at them expecting them not to say anything back and its not fare besides although racism still exist a lot of u are still mad because of what our ancestors went through and what their ancestors done that u are taking it out on them and a lot of whites don't agree with racism and a lot of u haven't been in a racist situation yet so u don't even know how it feels but until you do black people stop playing the race card about everything and give other races a chance to live without us breathing down their necks about something a lot I mean a lot of them don't believe in and a lot of us hasn't faced I love all of you
What's the point of living in this world if you're not going to gain an insight of all the cultures around you? Stop isolating yourself and actually live and learn little! Personally, I think black people in America should get away from all that negativity though but it won't affect you unless you let it.

ur embarrassing urself lol,,
+Dana Delano it's wrong to say it's wrong for whites to do anything. I refused to be associated with your stereotype that white criticize blacks or anyone else. I've never had a problem with skin color or cultural differences. So keep your stereotypes to yourself.
you are the best type pf person.
You look like a Nordic Queen! đ
aw thank you! ^_^
for people who are not sure about getting a whole head of dreadlocks, maybe start off with partial dreadlocks to see how you like them
How do i wash my undreaded hair regulary when i have dreads in my hair?
@@jennifer3744 I have just a few dreadlocks, so when I want to wash my hair, I just separate them. And it's not a big problem, if they get wet, just dry them well. :D
@@WolfShaman6669 ah thanks that makes sense:D but i think i won't do it anyway, i have really thin hair so dreads would probably look hideous on me xD
Reasons not to get dreadlocks.
I hope that you enjoy!
Question do you have thick hair and if so dose it make your dreads super heavy I worry that if I do get dreads that they will become too heavy and cause me to have headaches
+i have a million cookies I have locks and yes they can hurt your head. That's why sectioning and choosing your dread thickness is so important.. I believe Elise said she had thicker kinky curly hair before. And I know she's said that the brushed out some locks from pain before.
+Moon Glow so I would want the, to be smaller and not as thick correct if I do choose to do this
+i have a million cookies I recommend close to an inch thick at the root... Maybe a little thinner. Cause they are gonna get thicker and heaving as they age due to the dead hair being trapped... Thicker the section= more trapped hair per dread... But if they are super thin you can run a risk of the root getting weak and loosing A dread lock all together of it gets too thick.. Do a lot of research! Or get them done pro. Elise he hers professionally made. I made mine myself but it took a few tries to get them to a size that worked for me
+Moon Glow I plan on going to a professional :) I just know it's a lot to think about so I wanted to learn from their people's experiences
The way you say "itchy" is so cute âșïžđ
I was thinking the same thing! Ishy hehehe
Truly adorable the way she says itchy.
I'm white and have had dreadlocks for 24 years.
1,480 minutes is the equivalent to ~25 hrs, for anyone else who was wondering
1480 minutes is just over 24 hours for those needy people like me who wanted to know
lol I was about to go figure that out! thank you!
so depending on how long you spent brushing them out it would take 2-3 days maybe 4 if you only spent a few hours on them a day
I work at a zoo and tons of bugs like to "nest" in them. Or the goats and bunnies chew them đ©
đđđ
hahaha
OMG that must be horrible sorry
that`s ok ...I`m vegan so I don`t support zoo`s anyway
A dread lock is not a matte.
Gosh, I never thought about the thing with the hairbrush until you said it! Damn, that was truly wonderful!!
Same here :D
"black people" & "white people" are descriptions ignorant people use, to be clear these are used to loosely (seeing as how no one is really black nor white) describe someone based on the color of their skin. Not all "black people" & "white people" are american, and you usually only hear Americans use these terms.
"black people" did not invent dreads or braids. let that sink in a moment .
1. You don't invent a hairstyle. you create one. Human beings creativity can be very very similar to one another. That's why alot of people wear the same fashions at the same time developing trends.
2. Many cultures (rainbow of skin colors based on whether your melanin happens to be spread apart or closer together, many or few) wore dreads and braids since the beginning of time. yes, a little exaggeration before someone replies and points that out. Vikings is an example of "white people" that used both hair styles.
3. "black" Americans just because more "black" people wear dreads/braids does not mean you tell a girl that only wants a specific hair style bc she LIKES it , she can't wear it that way because she has "white" skin aka RACISM. That would be equivalent to saying if you have darker skin your not allowed to relax your hair to have straighter less kinky hair, or to wear extensions/wigs for the same reasons or to gain length and you can't wear you hair like that because majority of "whites" have straighter , longer hair. ridiculous .
"black" americans, did you know that slavery in America ended 1863 (which wasn't that long ago honestly) and that so many different races were also slaves Irish,French, Indians (India),Italians ,Russian and many many more. millions of slavish people ("whites") were slaves for centuries by Africans ("blacks") ."black Africans" enslaved many millions of people's from different races.oh no you mean "black" people did enslaving too? you don't say..Actually alot of races did back in less civilized eras bc they basically lived prey and predator lifestyle and felt the need to conquer what they thought were lesser people's.
slavery has been around since the start of civilization.
YES it is TRUE that most slaves were sold into slavery by "black" Africans that were not slaves. until people got greedy and said hey why pay when I can steal what is not mine to take.
My ancestors were slaves maybe their master was "black" or maybe not.
if you scroll through the comments their disgusting, racist, ignorant and hateful . with alot of misinformation being spread because people are blinded by a hatred. "black" Americans it is great knowledge to know about your ancestors. I'm going to reiterate that YOUR ANSCESTORS most don't know if their ancestor was a slave if they originated in Africa etc. so there's this blinding hatred bc of an era in America that you did not experience and are blaming others ancestral offspring that had nothing to do with these choices, that can't help what a ignorant generation did long ago. We need to stop spreading misinformation and hate breeds ignorance and gets passed down generation to generation. everything that is not my sarcasm is true, factual , based on real events so do not try to debate with me. I wrote all this bc of all the hypocrisy and racism I was seeing. and I was always told it was "white Americans" that are racist. and I'm constantly saying Americans because I've only ever seen Americans say and act this way about slavery and racism. We all need to move forward or we won't get anywhere as a society. if we don't band together in these rough times we will be crushed as the government and "superior classes" ruin us. and before this gets commented yes I've experienced racism maybe not persecuted every day but I've dealt with alot of prejudice from many different angles mainly from black Americans.I've got turned down for jobs bc they get tax credits for more minorities, I got kids to feed also. I've been called white bitch so many times it's not funny and yes in a certain context that's racist to me. I used to get jumped in school 2-3 times a week bc my boyfriend was a "black" American so I was stealing him from others of his own color , which I just didn't understand at all when I was younger. because I have white skin color it's okay for me to be a domestic violence victim. my bestfriend since I was 10 is black her mother unofficially adopted me when there was no where else for me to go except another foster home I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for her and racism is one thing she taught me to speak out against and to speak up for. because even my bestfriend had to go through persecution from her own "people" bc she was very light skin and dated a "white boy" that she ended up having s child with and is still with him after 11 years . and many other petty things. point being is racism is very much alive on all ends if we quit bashing each other maybe there's some hope for us as a nation
if anyone should be pissed it should be the Indians rise up and kick us all out of your country !
All this bc a Danish white girl wanted to wear her hair a certain way.
that was amazing Thank You For your words :)
invent and create are the same thing lol. and yea every race has been enslaved but no other like the scale and length of time as the slave trade in America. All though I do agree with you that who gives af if white ppl have dreads, and Greek & Indian people along with Africans have been wearing them for centuries.
+Cookie Monster you can create something that can be an invention. it's an exception not a rule . I meant people are acting as if dread locks are patented for African Americans only. it's sad how something so small comes in between people . we should be together voicing concerns about real problems not OMG the white girl has dreads lol
brittxoxo i get what you're saying lol but it's just that invent means to create. I agree about the dreads though.
now I wan`t to get dreads even more :)
Dreadlocks and braids isn't a black person specific thing, Vikings had dreadlocks and braids back in the day Sooo.
Well dreads originated on Egypt over 5000 years ago. SOOOOOOOOO
Guys, can we just all love each other for who everyone is?
Reason Number 9: Apparently an angry black woman might attack you, telling you you're not allowed dreadlocks because it's offensive to black culture. >.
You sound so racist.
it's true...sterotypical people do do that..
+Emma Kelley it really happened though.
+DanielWhaaaa because white people having dreads IS very damaging to black people in today's society.
+Kitty Katastrophic how is it damaging lol if that's cultural appropriation then explain when black women get weaves that have straight hair and not their natural hair?
Oh honey, most of these are long thick hair problems not just dreads...đ
Same đ
TWD for the win
+One of a Kind Kinz what? The Walking Dead for the win??
I read that in Carol's voice haha (Carol from TWD)
I have braids all the time and constantly get the question "how do you wash your hair????" And they get stuck in things and they are a pain in the ass to get dry so it's not only a problem for people with dreads
the way you say bob marley and itchy is so cute
Yes I just wanna hear her say itchy a million times
I'll just shave my head If I don't like it. It's just hair.
It's actually not "just hair."
+Kuhrizma Clemons maybe to her they are
+Kuhrizma Clemons It is. Hair is hair.
Emerald Kelsi If that's what you think
Kuhrizma Clemons Wtf, what else would it be?
my heart burst when she said "itchy"
why?
because her accent is so nice.
LMFAOOOO
yeah it's so cute haha :3
dey so ishy
I have been loafing around on youtube for about an hour and was about to give up on humanity. You are so lovely, within the first five seconds of seeing your video I feel less annoyed with the world.
Thank you for this lovely comment †I've just spend my morning reading through comments from really rude people... this comment just made my day, thank you! đ
The best and worst thing about locks is people will love your hair or completely hate it. No one is just neutral about locks
F*ck people opinion, or the wrld will never change
If you can't stand being on top of things, having everything go you way, and can't take a bad hair day.... don't get dreads.
Dreadlocks are a form of self expression. Your dreads form themselves and are completely natural, but society shows us otherwise.
Will you conform to these expectations of what a human should look like, or let your own body speak for itself. That's a question all dread heads must ask themselves.
In the result, you may see people with dreaded and nondreaded hair and all kinds of dreads coming together. Or a person with dreads so tight and with no loose hair, that their dreads seem to be 'perfect'.
So choose now, and ask who you are as a person before you choose to let go or grasp onto your crown/hair.
i've been considering getting them for about 2 months but i'm still undecided, this video helped a lot, and you're beautiful Elise!
Maybe get some synthetic ones X
if you want them, get them. i dont necessarily think all of these apply for evryone. c:
I love your dreads!!! I am getting my hair dreaded in 10 days and I can't wait. I have long (to the waist) hair..
Love this video. I agree with all your points 100%. Also having to find residue free shampoo can be difficult unless you always order it online. And getting fluff/lint/fuzz stuck in dreads from extra fuzzy blankets or sweaters can be a pain.
Reasons why dreadlocks are not good for everyone.
If you are white and you wash your hair often (you know cause non ethnic hair gets oil fast) you will grow mold in your dreads. Also accumulation of flakes of your scalp from not brushing is also something to consider. It is actually really hard to keep it clean since "locking" often times will have and keep dirt and other undesirable factors in.
The food industry and certain jobs also might not consider you just because of these factors.
There is also something else to consider as well, if you are looking for a new hair style when you have dreads you are going to need to cut all your hair off, at least if you don't properly brush it out or untangle it (if you even can).
if u try to comb it out you lose a lot of hair
Cianna Whyte it can,and probably will, but it depends on how you go round doing it.
+Steward of Autumn
true I have dreads but i have thicker hair so I think that makes a difference and why get dreads to just comb them out
Cianna Whyte Could just get sick of them after a while. I can't imagine dreads have a lot of styling options.
People with dreads can prevent mold in their dreads by using certain treatments with simple ingredients.
Yes!!! I taught adults with disabilities art and such...One of the women I worked with loved running her fingers through my locs...That reminded me of brushing. It was amazing haha
Yes, I've never smoked pot in my life lol but people assume I do every day...
The itch doesn't personally bother me.
For friends who are black ;)
If you're black it doesn't take much more time for them to dry than as a loose natural. a bit but not a lot longer (I HATED this is a cold climate but living somewhere warmer it's not as issue)...and the velcro and earring things aren't new. lol and the questions from white people don't really change again from having black hair.
I think for me too...thinking about the time it takes for them to be nicer looking...depending on your style and technique and hair texture it can take years for them to mature.
;)
:^)! thankyou ^_^
You are my favourite youtuber! such an amazing person and i love your blog, twitter, instagram and snapchat accounts too! I literally base my entire life on yours because it feels so amazing. I donated my hair to charity but when it grows back I'm definitely getting dreads xox
This is a brill video. I love how you are not biased and putting out both sides. I appreciate that a lot, you are a great girl. Hugs.
If anyone is considering dreadlocks but don't want to jump in to the decision, try synthetic dreads, they are braided in and can last a few months (2-3 at most) and you get a good feel of how you like them and what you look like with them etc. You can also change the colours a lot easier than with real dreadlocks xx
I started watching skyrim mods.....how i ended here? Dx
I just started my dreadlock journey. I watched your videos a lot before deciding on it, I may have them exstended. but not sure yet.. my hair was down half my back, and now its super super short. but I am so glad I did it!
I think your video is spot on! You voiced all our dread related pains! xx
Your sleeping on my dreadlock....lol..You are funny...and you are absolutely beautiful! Keep Slaying Elise!
I love how she says "itchy", she's so cute ;v;
i want dreads but I'm not brave enough to get them and i love when my hair feels fluffy after i shower so i think i would miss that feeling. I'll just watch your videos and sigh and think of how pretty they look on you haha đ
You should look into synthetic or wool dreads. You just braid them into your own "normal" hair. They can also look very real!
You and You're dreads were/are absolutely amazing đŻ! Much Love and Respect from Seattle đ đŻ
actually for the ichy dreads it depends on ur hair type because our dreads in the Caribbean aren't really ichy
I love her accent!!!
this is some of the best advice iâve seen. â€ïž thank you
You sound like someone from ireland who has lived in manchester for a while :D and a little danish
I don't have dreadlocks but my hair is very long and I sometimes sit on my hair and sometimes my friends sit on my hair
I am considering dreadlocks, and the thing that bothers me the most, is that I'm white, and some people might not agree with a white person having dreads. But at the same time, I think dreadlocks is just a hair style and people shouldn't care because it was my decision. I'm still thinking about it.
do it. don't worry
I think it will. Thank you :)
+Dana T Sure it is your decision, if you want to appropriate something that is a natural occurrence in frizzy hair, go ahead.
+Dana T Go for it. There's gonna be people who disagree, but who cares, it's a hairstyle and people are just looking for ways to get offended now because they aren't oppressed anymore and for some reason they want to be.
+Althea Gee, thanks
first time viewer here! i love your channel, your style, and your uniqueness. =D
Great video!
Your dreads look great what pattern did you start with? Love your jumper too! Beautiful face and soul, love your accent peace and love from a dude in the process of growing his hair for dreads from the UK âđ»
"You're sleeping on my dreadlock" hahaha
they look SOOO GOOOOOD
Oh my gosh you are adorable, and your dreadlocks are amazing and I'm so in love with your accent
Thank you for posting! I've been thinking of getting dread locks but probably will wait till next year for a hotter season.
a lot of these problems are the same for ppl with regular long hair...
Elise you are so cute! I just adore youâ€
This is a lovely video :) Thank you for sharing your experience with dreadlocks. I always thought they look really sweet. But I never liked that they are so permanent. So your video really is a good advice :)
scalp rub yes! I miss that! running fingers through my hair was the bestđ
shit like "omg she is white why is she wearing dreadlocks?!!" is so annoying. A lot of you complained about how society is so racist, and how cultures/races hate each others, but when somebody doesnt give a fuck about it and tries new things like mixing "white culture + indian culture" or "white culture + black culture", is culture appropriation?
I mean, y'all want equality but when somebody mixes races as something equal, y'all get annoyed.
and sorry if you don't understand this, I don't speak english but its the universal language so I tried lol
Where can I find a similar thing to your background? :)
www.jaipurartfactory.com/products đ
it's definitely a lifestyle Ms that's for sure. I don't smoke anymore but eeeveryone assumes it lol. I'm also covered in tattoos tho so I knew what to expect from people but I just live and love everyone.. And always remember that you can love everyone without having to care about their opinions †your videos have calmed me down about maintenance allot thank you so much I have short dreads they touch my chin in front and shoulders in back but I relocked them as a way to keep sober because short dreads take wayyyyyy more maintenance lol your locks are beautiful thanks again one love
Very well said. Thank you for posting this video; it opened up my eyes :)
My natural hair takes about and hour and a half to dry, I can't imagine how long it would take if I dreaded it
+Raigen Huss mine are only shoulder length and they take at least three and a half hours.
***** Good lord,no thank you. I think they look great, but I don't have time for that
+Raigen Huss my hair games 7 hours
+Raigen Huss I have thick hair down to about mid-back (we're talking natural hair, like you) almost to my hips. I live in California and in the winter it takes easily 6-7 hours. In the summer it's more like 4-5 hours or so in a dry heat. If it's humid it's like winter, it takes forever and it's miserable
I can't even begin to think how long it would take if it were in dreads
I am not considering getting them, but after having them for so long, maybe you are thinking of making a change?
Maybe you worry that you'll lose subscribers.
I started watching your channel because I was interested in removing them. Then I kept watching because I found your videos interesting, not because of your hair.
You know how you see some older people who have the same hairdo they did when they were young? I can't imagine that is you.
Bottom line: Some people will stop watching if you remove them. But others might subscribe to see the transformation -- and stay, like have. đ
Theresa Novak stfu
I totally love your videos! I just ordered some synthetic dreads and I can't wait to try them. please ignore the negative people. You can do whatever you want with your hair â€â
Unless youre still under your moms responsability đȘ cant wait to leave the home, dreads will be the 1st thing done đ
I got half head of dreads and love them. sometimes they get itchy. but usually when they need washing. great video
I'm IN LOVE with the tapestry in the video!! Where can I buy it?
+Anialixy Carballo www.jaipurartfactory.com/ this is where it's from :)
+Elise Buch thank you â€ïž
+Anialixy Carballo Otherwise try etsy!
+Nathalie (Pineappletree) Oh okay. Thanks so much for the suggestion! I will try both.
Wellll, where I live, dreadlocks are a form of identification for Rastafarians. Just to make it clear though, not everyone with dreads is a Rastafarian but every Rastafarian has dreads. In class, we had a discussion once about whether or not wearing dreads were offensive to Rastafarians because we don't practise their religion but here we are, wearing dreadlocks, which are an indicator of their religion. Since we couldn't decide on an answer, the conclusion was that in order to determine whether wearing dreads when you do not practise the Rastafarian faith was offensive to Rastafarians was simply to ask them.
Dreadlocks can be find in different cultures too, not only Rastafarians wear it. You can find dreadlocks in the eastern cultures and the western too. Google is your friend :)
Petra MolnĂĄr Thanks but I was referring to my country specifically. We have a very small population so Rastafarians are basically the only people here who use dreadlocks as a form of religious identification.
+Petra MolnĂĄr they created it though....
one of my fav youtubers! love your videos x
I loved this video! but I am also super in love with your sweater!!! was it a thrifting find?
My Son Has Dreadlocks He is 9
THAT MUST BE SO CUTE
Your a great parent , you either can't be bothered to brush your kids hair or your kid can't be bothered
I had dreads and my boyfriend loved how they kept in the lovely smells from when I washed them.
+Evie Andrews Or maybe they aren't afraid to be judged by people like you.
i hate dreadlooks they look disgusting
+Nafees Ahmed we dont care
+Nafees Ahmed we dont care
i m not talking about u or any one else i didnt mean to hurt someone its just my opinion my point of view like u hate something u said it simply
seriously i enjoy the vedio . u look nice even having dreadlooks but from my heart dreadlooks not gud for hairs .everyone have a freedom of whatever he or she want so very gud luck
i apologize if I hurt you
this video has many information, it's the first one about not get dreadlocks that I find, I wanted dreadlocks and I want dreadlocks more ... thanks đčđč
Good video with good points!
I don't really have to answer so many questions (besides the ones from my granny, but they're always the same so it doesn't count) but when people ask me something about it it often goes with a compliment. I get quite often compliments and barely any hate or mean comments.
But a big point is definitely the "being attatched to someones jacket/jewlery/sweaters" :D once I destroyed a necklace from a friend of mine because my dreads were stuck on it and I didn't notice and kept walking and ripped it of her neck, that was embarassing :D
it's not that white ppl SHOULDN'T get dreads. it's that they don't NEED dreads bc the problems u have w the way ur hair responds to dreads is COMPLETELY different from the way our hair responds. Dreads are pretty or whatever but they were rlly made to protect and grown fragile, course, black hair and you may be like "it's pretty, I can do wat I want." But it's not pure style and it's still now made for ur hair. Letting the cultural crap go; you do look a bit silly having those in your head w no purpose other than a look.
Actually it depends. Many non-black cultures have kept locks, including hers (She Dutch, which are descdents of the people commonly refered to as "Vikings"). And while there is no denying the blatant differences between the most common hair textures, that does not invalidate why they are done. People do many things to themselves for MANY reasons that can be considered harmful. Tattoos, piercings, scarification, consuming poisons, etc. Its all done for various reasons, ues including fashion (my grandma always told me it hurts to be beautiful). She most likely keeps them for fashion, but many people in her culture keep them for religious reasons as well (My husband being a member of a religion that historically had them, some people now choosing to keep them as a sign of devotion to the ancestors.)
+SupremeChii lol I doubt vikings have dreads in their culture. And dreadlocks are still primarily cultural not fashionable no matter what culture we're talking about. And I live in the USA so I'm very aware of personal freedoms, thanks for that.
If were talking about qording, no, Vikings didnt have dreads in their culture because Dreads are the Rastafarian name for locked hair kept as a devotion to Jah. The northern peoples kept locks due to many reasons, one being that they were often easier to care for as the majority were farmers and they could be kept out of the way, held tightly even if they got diet or mud on them, and didn't need to be rebraided constantly like braids. They werent amazingly common, no. But they were present. They also probably werent entire heads of locks like people today either, but random locks mixed in to hair that didnt keep because, as said, finer hair is harder to lock up. Neo-pagans that follow northern religions now sometimes lock their hair as a devotion to their worship of their ancestors, as they might have kept locks so the emulate that. Its a form of religious practice (though less common than hair length and braiding, which is what my husband does in devotion). I dont see much difference in keeping them for Jah and keeping them for the ancestors, but I can see where others might.
+SupremeChii you insist on white people having dreads for cultural purposes so whatever. It still looks like ropes of linty yarn on them and that's that.
+Simone Is Sempiternal Eh, some styles will always look better on other people. Face shape plays into a big part of that along with styling. But that on an individual basis. Like, I have a round shaped face? I wish I could pull if straight across bangs. lol. Oh well.
It looks terrible.
+cosmic waderer okay
+Elise Buch she said "okay" lmaoooo love you Elise
Hey Elise! :) Nice video! I really wanted a dreadlocks, so I started with synthetic dreads just for try. But I realised that I miss my "free" hair and their brushing as you mentioned at first reason and I got rid of them :D After time, I wanted dreadlocks again.. Sooo, I decided for my OWN dreads and I went to hairdresser. She made me my first three dreads and I was so excited! :) After time, I started with making dreads to myself. Right now, I have 19 beautiful dreads.. For me, this is DREADLOCK JOURNEY, if I feel to make next one, I will do that.. Gradually :)
And what I don't like? When I sleep and I lay on my dreads and I want to turn.. It hurts
Where did you get that outfit?! So cute!! And Iâm looking into dreads and Iâm in love with your channel!
I honestly hate how dreadlocks look. (No hate)
+Kill me Plz I honestly hate when people feel the need to open their mouth about something negative. No hate.
Wow I didn't know you would feel bad, I honestly am really sorry but sometimes I can't help it
Elise Buch wow really? she was saying what she think and yes I see your side of the opinion. but I think dreads make hair look way to dry and dead. Also most of these "problems" happen for everyone with thick and long hair. I mean at least their hair has volume and doesnt look like cow crap and dirt mixed in to a line, and yes I had dread locks and they look better with darker hair color
XCrimson DahliaX hahahha you are so rude, hope 2017 will do you good .
Elise Buch I really dont mind if my opinion is rude. We have them for a reason. Also, im pretty much saying my hair was gross and it felt gross l and All my friends who had dreads.say the same thing. I also really love you shirt in this vid
lol is clear to see your hair doesnt lock, what this is is the "grinchs fingers" imho
LOL yes. Ever since I heard that comparison I can't see anything else. Even the "cleanest " dreads on white people look like the grinches fingers. đ
wow, you make this video and you also post one on HOW to make dreadlocks...very smart
You are so lovely, and your videos are always so interesting!
THESE ARE NOT DREAD LOCKS
REASON #1: DON'T GET THEM IF YOU'RE NOT AFRICAN AMERICAN/BLACK
Racist
hardly, can't be racist to white people. nice try though :)
+irlMarshall racist discriminating against a race. saying that white people shouldn't get dreads is racist. its like me saying black people can't straiten their hair because it "doesn't look right" and btw African Americans didn't invent dreads, Chinese and other eastern countries practiced dreads, so you might want to check yourself because African Americans don't own dreads. Have a nice say
dreads originated from Rastafarians in Jamaica and ancient Egypt/Africa. you cant oppress the oppressor, and you cannot discriminate against white people. when they have discriminated against most/every minor race. ugh, educate yourself.
+irlMarshall you can discriminate any person no matter if they are white or black. Maybe you should educate yourself and know what the definition of discrimination is.
I love your accent! and your hair is beautiful! it's also a beautiful color!!
tbh i think dreadlocks would be a great change, and btw i LOOVE your sweater đđ
Why do white people even get dreads tho
bc since they wanna have culture so badly so they steal other ppls
+pixie zoe denmark has more culture than many countries... It's just her desicion to get that type of hairđ
+Melissa Lozano shes still white tho,,
pixie zoe so? I'm white and I'm mexican and I have a lot of culture from my country. I get what you mean about all the hype about getting dreadlocks because it's main purpose is spiritual which its origin is from black people, but that doesn't mean that because she's white she can't have dreadlocks. Not every white person is unculturedđđđ»
Well, obviously not black people exclusively... That's just what everyone's hyped up about. I'm sure it's used that way in other cultures. (Also sorry for my bad grammar/ spelling)
Reason not to get dreadlocks.....you're white & white hair doesn't look good in dreads which is why they're called dreadlocks & not locs, they're dreadful!
+jinae di nisci wow.
Elise Buch Sorry dear, it's just not a good look & it takes away from your natural beauty.
jinae di nisci - Seriously?! That's your opinion. There are millions of white people with dreadlocks and they look amazing!
Get on with your own boring life and stop commenting nasty things about others.
Faye Owens You know nothing about my life & I'm entitled to my opinion. There are NOT millions of white people with "amazing" dreadlocks. Why do you think we gave you guys that term? Literal translation of dreadlocks is "awful locs" They shouldn't be doing them especially if they're gonna leave it unwashed & untended to for a year & a half like this girl did. Fucking nasty!!
Not that I like them, but what does white hair mean? Do you mean blonde or white people hair? If so, you are aware that there are white people with black and brown hair, no?
You are a beautiful woman inside and out, and I luv your honesty!, thank you.
Oh!
I just have to ask you... I love the fabric that hangs in the background, where did you get it? ^^
Like listening to you, you're not as hyper as most youtubers. :)
This is cultural appropriation. Smh
how?
No its not. She is a descendent of a culture that has locked their hair since centuries in the BCs. It has fallen out and back into style a few times, buts its been there for a couple thousand years. They just weren't called "dreads".

Ok thinking about getting dreads. I have long hair to middle of back but I want longer hair so will do dread extensions. I live in Tampa Florida in the states so drying will be a little easier. I do hate to brush my hair so dreads would be awesome! Do you have any advice for the best faux dreads to get?
where are your sweater from, I absolutely love it! sorry for my bad grammar, i'm from norway
The itchiness!!! ... my dreads are 7 months old now and look fabulous if I may say so myself haha. The first 0-3months was the most itchy time.
I also had a problem with dry, flaky scalp but found an awesome dreadlock shampoo and conditioning spray that's working wonders!
I love your dreadlocks Elise and love your videos too. Keep up the good work x
Hi, do you remember the name of the remedies for the flakiness? I have my dreadlocks for about 4 months now and the flakiness is the only thing that's bothering me
Me n u same, just turned 3 months on the 14th , damn they were not easy months, the itchiness was hell, especially first 2 months, n i had 2 buy sum hair growth oil & some Jamaican hair products n it got better, I would hit my head now n then every hour, but now can happen like once in a day, sometimes not.
I have watched a few of your videos.. you are so pretty...just love your dread style. I am an older woman with grown daughters.. they are very angry about me wanting dreads..very hurtful the things they say.. I am torn.. I have done my research and am very passionate about getting dreads. I am kinda shocked at their point of view..this is a tough decision because of my families reaction.. any suggestions? Thanks
I love love love your hairđ„
I have to set aside about 2.5 or more hours just for washing and drying my hair! My dreadlocks get stuck in other people's earrings, nose rings, etc when I hug them. Me and my ex boyfriend who also had dreadlocks got kicked out of a pub because they said I was smoking weed in their garden but it wasn't me it was some men 3 or 4 benches over! I also had a woman where I used to work complain to other people about my hair looking unprofessional even though I always had to tie it up and was only ever working out back cleaning and things where no customers or anyone could see me. I also seem to attract guys on nights out who think dreadlocks are sexy and then they want to talk to me just for my hair and I just want them to go away so I can have a night out with my friends haha.
i was going to get some dreadlocks ,doing myself is really not working out really love your tutorials though :) you are a beautiful human being. thanks for this advise but i still am going to :)
i have the same tapestry on my wall! insane lol my friend bought it for me my last birthday. interesting video btw
love the music and background
You are just adorable! I love watching your videos.
I love your sweater. đ
