What makes these videos so inspiring is there is no focus on body image bs - it's ALL about how you feel and challenging yourself. It's so refreshing to see someone make fitness content for the sake of fitness, not body image. Especially as a woman. And yes, he is acknowledging food and his body and whatever, but that's not the whole goal. There is no focus on "results" or "transformation". Gives me some hope. Thank you, Cody, you're helping me in more ways than one!
Hey Cody! I’m a physical therapist. Not a biking expert by any means but my advice would be looking into a PT in your area that does bike fittings/works with bikers/triathletes a lot. They would hopefully be able to address your knee problem and help refit your bike. I don’t want to increase your anxiety around your knee, but it will be better to address the problem earlier so it doesn’t become a fully blown injury. You might be overusing a certain muscle but it’s hard to say with out more info. Sorry to hear about your family member, take care. Hope you had fun in Austin!
To add on to this, I actually had similar pain in my knee a couple years back and it was due to tendinitis. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing a PT because I waited too long and it took months to recover. Better to catch it early and start working on recovery ASAP.
Definitely sounds like overuse in the hamstring tendon, I’ve had the same thing before from running sprints, just had to go lighter and slower on things and rest and it went away
We are in Palo Alto and have a really robust triathlon community here. GET A BIKE FITTING and do some PT. Also, incorporate massage and rest days. Gotta get the lactic acid out of the legs. Once the mileage picks up, it's really easy to lose your form or generally overwork and end up with a torn meniscus or something. Rest when you need to. Listen to your body. Name of the game in tri is heartrate control over long periods of time. But, worse is when you can't train because you were dumb, went too hard for too long, and actually broke something. It's all about consistency, longevity, and listening to your body. Also, last thing, don't feel like the way to fix your knee problem is to stretch your quads really hard in deep flexion. Extremely deep flexion compresses and deforms the meniscus and can propagate a tear. However, it also sounds like it could be hamstring tightness or tendonitis as other people have said. Lots of good PTs in LA. Hit one up and make it part of the regimen. Lastly, take protein and collagen. You're probably fine, but don't ignore the niggles.
It could also be because you are pulling upward in the upstroke this is not ideal try to move your leg with the pedal stroke on the up en put the power in your downstroke so don't try to force the upstroke just move with it
hey dude after my runs i chuck my cap in a little mesh bag with a zipper and wash it with the rest of my clothes in the washing machine. Works a treat Keep it up dude, love these vids
Can I just say Cody is looking really good, like I can see the transformation from watching older videos. Good for him! I’m not a runner or a cyclist or a surfer but I genuinely love watching this channel because it’s so cool watching someone reach their goals 💪🏽
As a man who wears hats almost every week in the many videos he makes, I love that Cody chose to put the smelly hat back on his head instead of wearing a different one
I love that he’s never considered throwing the cap in the laundry, too. I’ve thrown my one cap in the washing machine and it’s survived almost 5 years.
Considering I know that Cody has anxiety and has had bad panic attacks, and sometimes doesn't want to film...I'm so happy to get to watch these videos because he likes training. This video, especially with the surfing reminds me of ooold videos when Cody would just do shit. And watching his new video with Noel....Cody...you're looking good. Glowing, radiant, and YOUTHFUL.

Cody you should consider checking out a Physical Therapist who specializes in athletes. There’s a lot they can do for you to remove pain and optimize your gains. Consider it!
Hope you’re okay Cody, make sure to take sometime to yourself. This channel has really inspired me more than any “fitness” channel ever had anyways. Never was into running and hated weight lifting. But I been running for an hour a few days a week now and it’s so much more enjoyable. In CT it’s freezing tho so it’s treadmill runs right now but this is something that seems easier to track and set goals
Hey man, sorry to hear you’re going through a rough patch, all the best to you and your loved ones! Just wanted to say you’ve been a huge inspiration in my own fitness journey so thank you and all the best brother!❤
I know this probably doesn’t mean much coming from a stranger but we’re here for you Cody! I’m sorry to hear about your family, sending well wishes and love 💛
I like that these vids are real and you just say when a run sucks and it’s hard cause that’s what training actually feels like. Not everyday is motivational and feels great a lot of it is just pushing through.
Just completed my first half marathon this past weekend and gotta say watching cody train inspired me to challenge myself and try something new . Thank you Cody!
Hi Cody, I work in a holistic sports medicine practice in Arizona. We work primarily with professional athletes in the area. I am currently training for my first marathon and the number one recovery tool I use on myself and all of our athletes is acoustic soundwave. I’m sure there is someone in the LA area who uses this modality! The area of pain/discomfort you described sounds like a hamstring attachment. Can be common with running/biking. Primarily with over use and tightness in quads/low back that will stretch and irritate your hamstring. Acoustic soundwave will decrease inflammation and relax the muscle tissue. Hard to say exactly without an assessment but I would work to relax low back/quads and hamstrings with soundwave. You should see results immediately. Also the purchase of a spiky foam roller (I like the brand rumble roller) to relax quads. Hurts like hell but would be great to help with hamstrings! Hope this helps!
im sad this is no longer titled “my life as a cat dad” it was so perfectly specific to one single moment in the video and it made me chuckle that it had nothing to do with training. it was also that sweet spot where it’s cringey but in an intentional and strangely endearing way.
wishing you the best for you and your fam. KEEP Inspiring thousands of us! currently training for my first half marathon and i cannot do it with out training along yourside. and the insanely chill pod
Had to immediately watch since this was titled Cat Dad! Laundry tip: maybe it will work... Soak with 1/2 cup baking soda, launder w/ another 1/2 cup soda and bit of soap then instead of fabric softener put 1/2 cup white vinegar in that slot. Gets rid of mildew smell from towels so might work on ass sweaty smelling hats as well? No guarantee though.
Hi Cody, I enjoy these videos greatly, they really motivate me to achieve goals, both fitness and otherwise. Sending my best wishes to you and the family at this time. We’re rooting for you!
You’re a big inspiration to me Cody like I’m literally running around 3kms a day (or atleast i try to) and I’ve definitely been seeing results! All thanks to you mate! And also sorry about your family member

I've been watching you for so long and something about this channel is just my favorite. It is so authentic and it motivates me to get everything done, not only fitness wise. It is just so raw and funny and inspiring. Keep it up, I love it!!
Been training for a marathon these past few months (cause of you, thank you). Been loving Ciele running hats. Material doesn't seem to get as disgusting as a normal hat if you are sweating in them a lot.
Really sorry to hear the news about you and your family. You know we love you and your videos and that’s not gonna change, so please take as much time as you need to take care of yourself and those around you. Wishing all the best in what I can only assume is a particularly hard time 🤍
I've never felt more seen with Cody's absolute reluctance for biking, whenever the weather dips below -15C I don't want to run outside so I begrudgingly hop on the bike for 30 minutes and this series keeps inspiring me to do that

Put your hat on the top rack of your dishwasher, run a normal cycle without high heat or any drying. Put in whatever detergent you normally use for dishes. Then just hang it up and let it dry after the cycle. It actually works really well. Choo choo
Cody not realising that you can just put hats in the washing machine is hilarious to me
Nah because it messes up the shape of the hats
@@baltazar9940 just air dry the hat outside and use a towel in the head opening to hold the shape. dries good as new and doesn’t mess with the shape!

Just realized the reason why this Cody Trains era is so appealing, and it’s because it’s his evolved dad form of his old vlogs
