Manchester City are starting to show form (in January 2021) having stuttered and looked ill-equipped at the start of the season. However they are still blunt in some areas and need to add an edge in attack. Tifo takes a look at the areas of weakness, and suggests solutions in the form of players.

But Tifo's pick is the Ethiopian Defensive Midfielder playing in Uzbekistan Zala Abiombe
He might need some time to adapt to the premier league, but his 2.4 aerial duels won per game show that he would be capable of playing in the team's defence in the future
m8 he's not screening material in any sense. He's played in the right of a back 3, on the left of a double pivot, and occasionally used as a tall fullback. The Uzbekistani Promier Lagi 1 is home to tall midfielders but short attackers. You can see that his aerial duel win percentage dropped to 10% when he was used as a central midfielder. He has notable stamina, good strength (although not to keep the ball) and has the ability to carry the ball forwards, but City have Gundogan. He's the captain of Athroticas Deportivi Ambla Babala CSF and a one-club man thus obviously a fan favorite despite being overrated and probably overpriced, especially for a rotational player. If he's coming to the Prem, the only realistic destination would be Arsenal.
@@Rollerbear712 overrated and overpriced is the Arsenal way after all.

I don't see why Zinchenko is so disrespected. Every time he plays he has a very good game. Quick, skilful, good passing, reliable - also wouldn't cost a penny in transfer fees. And he's dependable as a back up so why not promote him?

David Silva’s departure is hurtig for city because its hard to find a player to replace him due to his unormal position. (8/10)
It’s not that it’s that he liked controlling the game making passes to draw attention away from the opposition to then release a player like de bruyne to put a cross in or for the wingers to make runs an put the ball across the box.
Foden
@@akmalrodzi4633 foden best position is lw
It is not his positioning, it is that he is just too good. He may be the best midfielder to have ever played in the PL
The most similar player to him I think right now is barca's pedri, ofcourse he's from from reaching Silva's ability, but looking at his last season in Las Palmas he played a similar role silva does for City.
let's not forget that Haaland's father used to play for MCFC, so there's a higher probability of him going to MCFC than MUFC.

I am so incredibly happy that Mexican players are getting the recognition they deserve. Thanks, Tifo!
Up the Lozano
Mexican players have always been given the appropriate recognition they deserve... they've just mostly been potatoes thus far... Carlos vela, Giovanni dos santos and chicharito were a front 3 that were given TOO much hype... Mexico has never had players not been given recognition lol nothings changed, what's Tifo done differently? Acknowledged that a young Mexican player is the best in the Mexican division? I mean... by all means, hype yourself up for the exciting prospect of a possible young star in the making... but lol Tifo aint done shit by mentioning Mexican players.
@@Chrisosch my guys just happy about Mexico man
@@Chrisosch Mexican players clearly have talent, but they tend to lack mentality and discipline and they like to get pampered when they are in a comfort zone.
@@schris3 have you ever heard of Hugo Sanchez or Rafael Marquez? They had top class talent and great mentality. Please don’t “categorize” Mexican players based on those 3 examples you mentioned (which I totally agree what you said about them). Cheers.
They have De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden, Bernardo and you still targeted a central midfielder and not their weakest position the left back🤔
Clearly you don’t understand city’s team. Left back is definitely an area of concern but not as much as a striker and midfielder next to rodri now because city’s defence has been the best in the league by a mile
Bernardo isn't good enough for city actually, he's a dribbling merchant, yes he loves to drive forward but his final pass & finishing simply aren't good.

Just hope Bayern don't get him.
It will be the end of the world if Bayern get him. Imagine: Sané-Haaland-Gnabry...

Chances are he'll either go to Barca or Chelsea/Arsenal with Aubameyang/Lacazette/Abaraham&Pulisic/Werner leaving for another club. Great work. I think City also need a LB too
Man City needs haaland ... And it's perfect ! Haaland just needs to be surrounded by creative players(de bruyne , Bernardo Silva , Foden etc ) who can provide him those defence splitting passes. Also city is (in my opinion) the team which can surely win titles , they just need a goalscorer who has speed , strength. And pep can manage haaland even if he isn't that much technically gifted .
Exactly...city having a proper no-nonsense striker right now, will make them formidable in the premier league...
@@basiljaikjose5962 true
Makes sense considering his father. He is a Leeds fan but I just cant see Leeds being at the level to buy him yet. Maybe a few more years
@@adamcraig1468 you're right ... But it's not just about the capacity of buying haaland ... The bigger question is that can Leeds (or any other team ) guarantee him trophies !? I think haaland will move away from Dortmund not just to improve but also to win league title, champions league... Mancity can ... Because they have it all ... Haaland is the only missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle.
Other than mancity ... I think , Liverpool and Bayern are the only "complete teams" . But they'll not buy haaland for sure ...

Is Benjamin mendy fine? While he has been able to adapt to Guardiola's style of packing the central pitch for more passing options to retain possession but is no equivalent of walker while pressing high and has often appeared sloppy while falling back to retain structure which has left city exposed numerous times.
JJ Macias a beast watch Chivas but may need more time to develop but would do well

This season in EPL is decisive for Guardiola and city as both united and liverpool are fragile defensively and city has the best defense in the league they just need to pickup their attacking prowess.
UCL is totally luck based as teams show unexpectedly on any day and can upset any team so Guardiola needs to ride his luck alongside his tactics.

I have no idea which team you support. You’re way too impartial in your videos haha. Great job once again. Hopefully we’ll see a Chelsea video soon and I know we just spent over 200 mill in the last transfer market, but seeing as we’re not finished I wonder what you think Tifo? @@brendanobrien8198 I would say City should be in for Alaba, free signing and they have the funds to cover his wages. And he can play in many different positions effectively. He can easily be a CB,LB and even a DM sometimes. We know how Pep likes to invert his fullbacks to provide more cover for the transitions. Its a very good signing.
@@9ii864 very true. my only concern is his age (the team's average age is high), but defenders tend to stay in the game longer and could give the team more time to build up younger players.
I think for the most part city has great players that are yet to hit their prime. In that respect, I agree with most of the options said in the video. Erling Haaland would be a great signing, also his dad played for the club. Imagine De Bruyne curling balls into a striker with the speed, athletism, and height of Haaland. For midfield, City currently has an option in yangel Herrara whos good but hasn't impressed as others have in the last few years. Douglas Luiz is another option city still have a buy-back clause on him with increments each year rising to 45 million. The attacking midfield is a hard position to replace with De Bruyne producing the stats that he is and not relying on his pace, he could hopefully play for another few years. Bernardo and Gundogan have shouldered the attacking duties in his absence.
