Ted Bundy was a malignant narcissist, which is someone who has a combination of NPD, ASPD and PPD. He was a very charming, intelligent and charismatic guy and was very experienced in the whole serial-killer game as well as the fake-identity game. There was nobody who could get the better of him, so even if you were a great interviewer and said the most humiliating thing to him, he'd still find a way to keep calm and turn the whole thing back at you. As for the tantrum in court, it's nothing new, i'm willing to bet that wasn't even as scary as he truly was.

Just binge watched all 4 episodes and it is, without doubt, hands down, the best documentary about Ted I have ever seen. No shitty reconstructions. Everything is proper news reel footage, interviews from the era. Everything is put on a time line, making it easier to chart his rise and fall. Many photographs, footage and information I have never known about or seen before. The documentation of his early life is actually quite heartbreaking. Seeing pictures of him as a very young, confused blond boy and hearing about his family situation and his difficulty with relations with other kids. Heartbreaking in the fact that he turned into such a savage, heartless killing machine and turned so many lives into despair.

They are your best friends, they are your father, husband, your favorite neighbor, your neighborhood watch, church community leader. most psychopaths are the charming charismatic type. literally there has been killers who lead search parties for the people they murdered, or the guys who warned young girls of serial rapists...when they were the serial rapist. you cant really trust anyone lol especially not on superficial things like appearance.

I have always felt such heartbreak for the all of the victims of his crimes, the families and friends of these young women. The detectives of all states who really had no idea of what their killer was capable of. The crime scenes unfolding and discovering that these women came from different states, that the location was the killer's dumping ground. These women were decent, sweet and had goals in their lives. Trusting and probably would help out anyone who asked. The frustration these detectives must have endured, the hatred of women this killer had, pure evil.
It wasn't till one woman escaped his grasp, til others coming forward witnessing his presence with women who turned up missing.

I’ve just finished watching this. I knew Ted Bundy was an infamous serial killer but I didn’t know much about the details so this documentary was very informative. Overall I like how it was put together, I like the that they use the timeline so it’s much easier to follow. There were a few things I wish was covered in more details and if we’d received more answers. Some of them:
    - I didn’t understand why the police didn’t investigate him after the disappearance of the two girls during the lake event. They knew the suspect is probably called Ted and is driving a light brown VW bug. They narrowed the suspects down to 100 and Ted’s girlfriend even made a statement saying that his bf is probably who they’re looking for. Yet the police did not even look into him, the excuse was that he didn’t fit the typical killer type. But they also said that they had no leads - I mean you have 6 girls that went missing in a bit over 6 months, you have no leads but you have a 100 potential suspects. Why you didn’t go one by one and investigate them all???
    - Also the 2 girls at the lake, I mean the media is full of the news that 4 girls got missing and you decide to go and help a stranger? I would have liked an interview maybe with one of the friends what they thought why the girls decided to willingly go and help a stranger.
    - Also, it would have been nice to hear more from the psychological evaluations he went through. There was only a short one with a psychologist who determined that they should not put him on parole as he might do it again. But there was not much explanation on what exactly was wrong with him and possible causes. It’s hard to believe that the fact that he was an illegitimate child would make him turn into this monster.
    - The Florida events were also shocking. I get that at that time the communication between states were not as today but by that time Ted was on the top 10 most wanted list of the FBI and he just recently escaped. After the Chi Omega murders the Florida police contacted FBI and I can’t imagine how no one put the picture together that it’s the same person. You have a missing serial killer who kills women and a few weeks later you have a killer showing up in Florida killing 2 girls? Seriously there was nobody at the FBI thinking, hmm that’s suspicious, maybe this is our Ted???
    - There was another 12-year old girl killed in Florida which I found a bit strange as she didn’t fit the typical victim he was going for. He killed young women in their late teens/early 20s. I would have liked to see some explanation around that.
    - At the end he apparently confessed everything but the documentary didn’t give us much information on that. I would have liked to learn more on that.
Overall, great documentary I just wished there would have been a bit more details on some of these above. His story is horrifying and fascinating at the same time, he was indeed very clever and intelligent. The fact he managed to escape twice and got away with his actions for so long is insane. The fact that after killing the girls in the Chi Omega house and instead of fleeing the scene he attacked another girl just a few blocks away is mind boggling. He must have spent days spying on these girls as he knew exactly when and who to attack.
I’m not in favour of the death penalty as it’s the easy way out, I don’t think he was punished for his crimes. He should have stayed and suffered in a prison for the rest of his life. He would have been also great support to the police to catch other serial killers as he had the same thinking as they did. I’ve also found the last scene very disturbing where people where cheering in front of the prison while he was being executed. I felt they are no better then him. I understand it had to be done but the parade they have done around it (selling T-shirts, key chains) really showed there is something seriously wrong with that society.

I was watching the Netflix documentary on the Ted Bundy tapes, it was the second episode when I noticed something odd, the girl that got away when he tried to handcuff her was telling her story and they showed a picture of her wearing a Vuarnet France t-shirt. Those t-shirts were only popular when I was in junior high. I'm 45 years old now. Those shirts were only popular in the mid 80s, definitely not 1974 like in this girl's story 🤔🤷🏼

Are these the same interviews that have been in other documentaries or are they interviews that have never been released?

Ted Bundy was a WEAK man. Only the very weak prey on those who are vulnerable. It takes strength and personal conviction to protect the vulnerable.

The ones I felt bad for the most after the victims and their families were the people who were involved with handling this case. The years spent in getting to know Ted Bundy and and trying to get him to confess must have fucked them over for sure. I have no doubt in my mind that this Ted Bundys case must have had a life long affect in them.

As I was watching this I recorded the scene where a women described Ted when he was a young boy and teen. Said he could never fit in, wasn’t present and always strived to be the best, he started being more alone and didn’t really date the opposite sex even though he was good looking.
I could personally relate to him as I’m going through that right now. While I’m no where near an outcast and can fit in I value my introversion and take pride in it. I wanted to be aloof, intelligent, quiet and arrogant yet was tolerant to others as that can show some degrees of charisma. It shocked me how I personally related to this killer.

YOU CAN'T CALL IT Necro philia.
    Philia means LOVE.
Corpses can't consent so it's not Love!!!! It's Abuse. *Necrosadism* is the victim-friendly word to use, it is sadism, not romance for goodness sake. Philia is the criminal's lingo.
Necrosadism = nonconsensual abuse of a person's remains by an adult
Paedosadism = nonsconsensual abuse of children by adults
Zoosadism = nonconcensual abuse of animals by adult humans
I hope this clears things up. Lingo is why most convicted human predators get let out.

"I don't have a split personality" yet the very next words, "I mean I'm just a Normal Individual" change voice as if someone else is talking.
