The fact that he got away with it for so long even when he hsd molested a minor, neighbours complained about him , 2 useless moron cops being in his apartment upon returning a little boy to him...is just appalling! Another part that made my blood boil was when the judge went so easy on him in the child molestation case saying a man like him doesnt belong in prison
And when the officer that pulled him over for drunk driving said he’s not going to ruin his future when he already ruined the future of somebody else

and on the situation with the minor.. naked and bleeding.. should've been clear signs.. it wasn't healthy. Or just whatever they thought... absolutely disgusting.
WHAT ABOUT GACY?!???
Everything shown in the Netflix series was absolutely horrible but the most disturbing for me was the negligence of some of the police. They turned a blind eye. It's what's so disappointing, and the fact that it still apparent even today. You can't really count on calling for the cops for help. They were supposed to help and protect people but they have proven time and time again, that it's even harder for people to rely onto them. I am really shaking my head in disappointment knowing about one of his victims. He could've been saved if only the responding police listens and were able to do a thorough investigation. At least one life could've been saved and prevented him to do his further murders.
And if you see the Netflix series, you'll find that Even aftr dahmer getting arrested, policemen harrassed the victims' family by calling thm randomly and that's even worse!!!😠😞
@@nishapreetiekka5595 I was so angry and shocked about that fact! 🤯
Welcome to the lives of minority people.
I was 19 when Dahmer was caught in 1991, 20 later that same year. I spent most of my 20s in the 1990s. I can assure you that this series is accurate, especially when the officers got awards. That era was incredibly racist - even more than the 70s. Must of been the last hurrah phenomenon - things shine particularly brightly just before they burn out.

Dahmer is a pure evil but police was also to blame. They handled it so bad. I feel for the victims and their families. It’s heartbreaking 💔

Loneliness is a terrible thing. Both parents abandoned him for a brief time, it affected him greatly. After that he feared loneliness like the devil, until he joined him.

Glad to hear that Gerald Boyle, Dahmer's attorney, is still alive and among us even after all these years. Also, we finally get to hear from Wendy, assistant counsel. I always felt like she deserved to be heard more than she actually was.
She had a book ready for release earlier this year, but it was pulled without explanation. I assume this is the reason.
So are we only going to hear audio of his confession? I heard he was recorded by one of the psychiatrist and the prosecutor wanted to show that to the jury so they could get a better picture of Dahmer
@@killswitch_77 Yeah, I actually looked it up and wished to get my hands on it. Too bad though, I'm still hoping for it to become available; it's interesting to hear from Dahmer's own lawyer who spent months interviewing him.

That is what killed me. You can see through the series that he did what most people ask, "Why didn't they just...?" He genuinely reached out for help, recognizing what he was thinking was wrong, let alone what he was doing. It's not like he didn't try. It goes to show what happens even when people do things correctly and it still turns out problematic. Like a horror movie where the main character does the smart thing, but still dies.
My heart breaks for the families of these innocent victims. Completed the Netflix series. Evan Peters deserves an award. He's such a great actor. But I do hope he recovers mentally from playing such monster. Everyone did such an amazing job. My heart goes out to the families.

Looking forward to hearing Wendy Patrickus's story in this!
And sounds like there is going to be previously unreleased audio that we get to hear for the first time too!
I'm an Iraq veteran, trust me, you don't forget the smells. It's absurd that the smells alone didn't warrant a search of the house let alone the 5 separate neighbours who complained (one of which called the police 11 times).
You'd be surprised. Gacy put his victims in a crawl space under his house. Many complained about the smell under his house as well, yet he got away with 33 murders still.
I think it was only a matter of time before they did search it

sad part is the cops basically kept there jobs after they 'pretend fired them' and recently few yrs ago congratulated them on "doing such a fine job" letting them retire happily
Scariest when the killer is handsome and kind looking. I got a weird feeling of a German guy I dated a few years ago. Handsome , tall and dorky but he would act strange plus ask me cannibalistic questions. I'm not saying he is guilty but a lot of his actions are questionable indeed. Watching this documentary and seeing how calm Jeff is scares me.
Yeah this guy what he did was inhumane grotesque but considering his background Jeff's father said while his wife was pregnant with Jeff she abused alot medication & abused alcohol anyways this on science part , also i believe there should be involvement of a diabolical force within him that made him unstoppable to commit these crimes which is insane a frightening
I'm looking forward to this!! So many times throughout the series I felt uncomfortable, I was sad, needed a moment...seeing the series portray the victims, that was intense. Currently watching the series which is very well-done and can't wait to see this one, Conversations with a killer series hasn't disappointed so far with Ted and John !

Being from Milwaukee I know lots about this story, but to inside his head, even if it’s not historically accurate, is just utterly skin crawling.
Just finished watching this Netflix series from zambia 🇿🇲 and I must say this is a very touching and strange story. Reading a comment from someone who lives in the city where it happened drives a reality point for one to stop thinking it’s just a movie. Wow! Mind boggling indeed. How I wish they had listened to Glenda much earlier. ..
@@justinakobe306 I also live in Milwaukee, was 12 when this was happening- it was absolutely horrible. Please note; neither Netflix NOR the filmmakers asked for consent to make the film, have the families likelihood copied, their own names and likelihood copied and absolutely no one contacted them about any compensation. Evan Peters is not a hero; he’s an egregious actor, full of Hollywood now and lots of money and has never offered to give to money to victims of abuse or sexual assault or survivors or crimes or anything. Hollywood is not our hero’s, they’re not amazing. They profit off our tragedy and loss and barely pay it forward without media coverage.

I'm kinda glad Ryan Murphy made this case a series with Evan because I didn't even know about this until the trailer came out. It's true that cinema has already covered Jeffrey Dahmer's story before but this series is important because it talks of the victims as real people with ordinary lives and so much potential, more than that how the system practically enabled him to get that far with his horrific acts which has almost always been left out. Disturbing as it is, Dahmer is an interesting person to study.
You're right, but the victims' families haven't been aware about the TV show production, it's just disrespectful
Wonder what else you are gonna be indignant about in 3 months….
I don't believe he prayed on black men because they were easier prey. He simply was attracted to them being a blonde-haired, blue-eyed person with fair skin. We all know that most of us are attracted to the opposite of how we look.
That's what I thought too. He chose black men coz he finds them good looking.
He was attracted to tall, lean men. He did not care about race (or so he claimed)

Thats not true.. His initial victimes were white.
Hopefully this documentary does justice to the complexity of his psychology, and how much the good and bad in him struggled and he didn't want to be the way he was.
I think the Dahmer series explains fairly why he might’ve turned out the way he did. Unfortunately we’ll never know the real issues or reason, since his brain was never studied. There are only theories.
ETA: let me rephrase “explain” with “visualize” since the reasons were never proven. Just the show giving us an idea.
I was hoping there would be more tapes revealed. This case is so interesting.
Finally, I've been waiting for Dahmer tapes ever seen I watched the Bundy tapes. Y'all also released a drama series which is awesome!
The timing couldn't have been better ! They did an excellent job with the one recently released
Yeah bet you cant remember the victims names but remember him with his million documentaries and two movies.
@Aishwarya J I’m sure it’s not these executives from Netflix that decide to create these docs/movies for the reason of helping the families, spreading awareness. There’s always a hidden agenda and that’s the fact it’s profitable for Netflix in a time where people crave these stories. They’re just milking it at this point.
@@mast3rchief536 look let me break it down to you...people love violence...the things that seems inhumane, you just can't deny it...
@@mast3rchief536 that’s why the new Dahmer movie dedicated a whole outro to the victims to make sure we know them
@Aishwarya J Also I’m right because the woman who lost it in court on Dahmer has said shes annoyed by the series because it’s bringing up her trauma again. Her family member took to Twitter to express that and annoyed that they have all these docs/movies on him. So yeah stop trying to make excuses for your entertainment and making it out for some beneficial purposes because you get some guilty pleasure off watching it. All this needed was a documentary, not two dramatic movies depicting the murders. How are the families expecting to move on when it depicts them killing their relatives, news pages reporting on him. Saw one news page title “Jeffery Dahmer describes what human meat tastes like”, that’s probably someone’s relative he’s describing. You all have excuses for these shows when it’s down to your guilty pleasure and Netflix understands people love these kind of shows and they think of the cash in. “Why are you so angry?” That’s just a deflection comeback for you, no I’m just considerate unlike you and your 7 people that liked your comment.

Over roughly two years, he killed or dismembered about 4 victims at his grandma's house in Milwaukee. After moving into his own apartment, he killed at least another 10 victims in about three years time. Friends and family surely reported them missing. But not a single police officer ever caught up to Dahmer for questioning on any of these cases. No investigation or follow-up or talking to witnesses around the neighborhoods and bars and nightclubs (where he targeted many of his victims) that would've eventually led detectives to Dahmer. It just goes to show that all those years, the police weren't even looking into any of these cases at all. I'm glad the Netflix series exposed the system for what it is, rather than just showing the horrors of the murders themselves.

After watching this on Netflix, I can see more and more how much the Dahmer series was so accurate with the real life Milwaukee tragedy even the tiniest of details. Some things may have been switched up, but they were pretty spot on with most the information in the series. Everyone who worked in and out of the series all deserves an award! From screenwriters, to directors, costume designers, sound mixers, the entire cast, literally everyone who worked on this project should be significantly rewarded
Yeah, they should have an award for making a serial killer shine like he's some kind of icon, and focusing in his life instead of their victims, just like he probably would have wanted. Yeah, they should have an award for doing all of this for the sake of money without caring about the opinions of the families of the victims, and just disregarding them like they don't deserve anything even tough they're putting someone that was so precious in the screen and even them, in their worst moments. Yeah. It isn't like they just don't care about what happened and are trying to monetize history, even making changes to make it more dramatic and "cool", for the audiences...
I personally found this documentary way more interesting than the drama series. Like this lady got 32 hours of audio of Dahmer in his own words, and it's fascinating to hear him talk about how he came to be what he was... or at least what he thought.
Anyways it sounds like a gold mine of info into the thoughts of a serial killer and how someone becomes one. Hopefully they can use his tapes to better psychiatrists and prevent people from going down the life path Dahmer did.

He's really unique in that he actually confessed to his crimes in detail when he was caught, and actually expressed remorse for what he did. Can't help but feel sorry for him as well as the victims, i fully believe that if someone got him some help when he was a teenager he wouldn't have become a serial killer. Nothing can justify his terrible deeds. This is a monster, what kind of sympathy can the relatives of the dead have?
