For reference. Mokuba in the season 0 was as messed up as kaiba, but kaiba was still an egotistic jerk.
fun fact in OG Yugioh manga, Yami Yugi was evil af. The pharoah banished more people to the shadow realm in the first volume than Marik in the tv series lol
Yugi was challenging peeps to shadow games before it was cool. The villains like Bakura were just trying to follow his example.

Kaiba collects his three Blue Eyes cards over the course of this season. The first episode of the Duel Monsters anime is sort of a recap of Season 0's climax.
I like how music from Nightmare On Elm Street plays whenever Kaiba is on screen and the theme song for John Carpenter's Halloween plays whenever Yugi gets possessed by Atem
I really wish LittleKuriboh had continued with Season 0...
So fun fact, kaiba got all of his blue eyes by force. Bankruptcy and the mafia to the point that one person actually committed suicide.
I love LK's use of horror movie music in these. Hearing the nightmare on Elm st music is always a treat for me.
Specifically when Kaiba talks friendship .
The purple haired girl that's with them when they get to kaiba's mansion is miho (probably misspelled it) who was originally another part of their group of friends and was the love interest of Tristan. When making the Yugioh series it was decided to cut this character out

This show's officially reached peak freakiness. Seriously, what kind of sick twisted mind thought of Kaiba singing Mr Rogers?
The personality switch with kaiba and yami was interesting, funny, trippy, and unsettling. Lol.
Honestly not too far off how Mokuba was originally. First appearance he pulled out a knife on Yugi. Then later played Yugi and Joey to a game of Russian Roulette where he poisoned Joey. Yea the Kaiba brothers where rather psychopathic
BTW the reason Kaiba has green hair is because Kaiba didn't have a canon color scheme yet
Seto Kaiba’s Season 0 design was reused for his dead adoptive Noah in the later series. Mr. Kaiba’s plan was to turn Seto’s body into a new vessel for Noah, whose consciousness and soul were being preserved in a computer in the mean time, which is the whole reason he adopted Seto in the first place. Mokuba was essentially a “buy one get one free”.
There's only one more Season Zero Abridged, but you should definitely check the real series. It adapts a lot of the manga before Duelist Kingdom, so it's very interesting to watch.
Also, there's I think a two-part video of Little Kuriboh narrating and doing voice overs over the first chapter of the manga, if you want to also see how it differs from the animated version (it was even darker than that one).
so, some additional information, just because I feel like it:
-they actually didn't have the giant duel arenas seen in the show in the manga, that was an original invention of the anime. in the manga, they were mostly playing on top of an actual table most of the time, like we see in this episode. although, later episode showed them sitting inside big glass cubes that projected miniature holograms on top of the table.
-kaiba was a straight up psychopath in the original series. so was mokuba actually, if maybe not quiet as bad as kaiba. there was nothing kaiba wouldn't do to win, even killing someone... which he actually did. in a later part of the manga, but still prior to duelist kingdom, he also held a battle royal/hunger games/squid game like death game, he tricked the group to participate in.
-while tristan was still mostly a comic relief character, he was actually somewhat competent and reliable at first. the shash he's wearing is because he was the class president i think (or something comparable) and he took his responsibilities seriously
-there was this purple girl called miho who was part of the main cast, who mostly served as tristan's love interest, although she herself seemed to be more interested in bakura. she kind of just disapperead slightly before duelist kingdom, not sure if there was a reason given as to why.
thus ends today's edition of pointless fact about season 0.
Yeah in season zero kaiba is kinda insane and a murderer. You should watch it
In actual season 0 Kaiba was very different from this but also very similar lol He wasn’t creepy from the start. He starts off as a charming friendly guy from the start but as soon as he sees the Blue eyes card he turns a 180. Also the game between him and Yami was a draw even tho in the show Yami basically rigs the games for him to win every time and kill his opponent so it was a kind of a big deal that he didn’t win back then
Love season 0, this is how the show should have gone moving forward.
If you can find it you should seek out and watch season 0 it gives more backstory to some of the things they only imply or reference in duel monsters.

Yugioh season 0 is based off the first 7 volumes of the manga
season 0 is like a different timeline of yu gi oh so you dont have to worry about it
The funny thing is that in the original manga the full story is connected, even this part. In the anime, Season 0 and Duel Monsters are separate things.

@@rikudaman tbh I watched the abridged versions of dragon ball and yu gi oh so much that I forgot how they happened and also how they were dubbed in my native language.
@@exkiltersilva7483 I think episode 1 of the "normal" anime is their way of rebooting the events of season 0. In season 0, Kaiba & card games don't show up until several episodes in. When he appears he plays a shadow game with Yugi on a table at school, then later he kidnaps grandpa and forces Yugi and his friends to play a variety of messed up games in a theme park attraction called "Death T," last of which is Yugi vs. Kaiba, again, on a table, but this time with hologram technology. In the normal anime they just skipped some steps and had Kaiba show up, kidnap grandpa, and duel Yugi once, in a hologram stadium. As for all the other crap they skipped, they either fill us in via flashbacks or say "look, it's our good friend from school, Bakura," with no context of who the heck this dude is.

In this series Kaiba does not actually have his other 3 Blue-Eyes at first and Grandpa’s Blue-Eyes is the first he encounters. Later Kaiba obtains the other 3 Blue-Eyes through extortion and theft in order to get revenge on Yugi for defeating him, and setting up actual death traps for Yugi and friends after giving Grandpa a heart attack in the duel where he wins the last Blue-Eyes. Of course it goes the same way in the manga and he is obliterated by Exodia.

Definitely. At minimum, it doesn’t just revolve around exact same game all the time. Instead, they play a bunch of cool stuff that my friend group actually adapted for real-world playing. You know... just without money and death. Everything else is legitimately very fun.
What's going on with the Patreon??? I don't see any reason why it should've been taken down. I know for a fact there are multiple Patreons who have full reactions to animes you posted who have been doing it for years and who still have those animes you've done up. I think you've been false reported and i would think/hope that the Patreon review is temporary and will deem your account fine cause I can confirm I know multiple Patreon accounts who have done DB, OPM, chainsaw man, and other animes and has been up for YEARS with no issues. So hope it gets resolved soon!
It was my OPM reactions and it’s from viz media and targeted towards smaller creators. Bigger creators don’t seem to have issues atm with this.
@@Animelon That's whack. I don't know what bigger creators use but I've heard issues wiht CZcams and Vimeo uploads before when uploading anime stuff. I've found that the ones that last are usually the file upload sites like google drive or mega nz for example. You can reference a patreon page called Spazboy Comedy or The Goosh for reference. Has countless animes uploaded, including OPM and DB and tons of reactions. His reactions to OPM are years old, but they're still there. When he had an issue a long time ago, he made a switch over to that file host site Mega Nz and he re-uploaded all content that was previously taken down. To this day, that content is still up on Mega Nz and his patreon is not banned, so I would think that would fix the issue. Can't guarantee it, but definitely worth a shot / looking into!
