hii, this video is a reaction to yu gi oh abridged episode 85. I have never watched the original yugioh series. I've always wanted to get into YuGiOh and thought watching YGOTAS would be fun as a blind reaction.

Rebecca's deck in this episode was actually a legit top tier deck in the competitive scene back in the day. Flame Princess (or a Woman holding a stick) was a big combo with Marie the Fallen One, since with Marie in your graveyard you gained 200 life points at the start of your turn, then Flame Princess would deal direct damage every time you gained life points. You would then stall out the game with the combo using things like Gravity Bind, which made any monster level 4 or higher unable to attack, and Imperial Order to stop people from casting spells. I haven't watched a yugioh series since 5ds, but I believe this was the first and only instance of a real life deck making an appearance in the show, as opposed to someone using a themed deck like everyone else. It's about as close to them actually playing the game properly as the series ever gets. xD
It was even funnier that Joey had to be told how the game works. This guy is the runner up in the Duelist Kingdom tournament, as well as a Battle City Semifinalist, and to this day he doesn't know the more specific rules of the game and just wins out of sheer dumb luck. xD

1. To be fair, I think that most of Rebecca's decks were lifted from actual meta decks of the time
2. Even funnier when you realise that Yugi actually gave a better and more digestible explanation to Chaining card effects that the actual anime *ever* does
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Yugioh Vrains (the 6th series) the one time a show where nearly every character's deck could be highly competitive? Granted they are all themed decks too. But Vrains was perhaps the only anime where you could look at a character's deck and it would be viable in the competitive arena. There's a huge reason why Konami banned the protagonist's ace monster, Firewall Dragon, because of how broken it was (before getting errata). Another example was the Trickstar deck's burn mechanic which also was just as broken at the time
Allot of the GX decks were almost all visble with TINY anime bs cards, but for the most part all decks work with a 1to1 copy paste
Revolutionary girl Utena Is a very famous Yuri anime from the late 90s. The music that plays when he plays his spell card is from that show as well

Yeah it's actually canon that grandpa is a pervert, stemming all the way back from the manga. 4kids being the censor-happy company that they were tried to scrub that fact away though. I didn't see this season in particular though so I'm not sure what they made him say in the dub.

That arch teased in the beginning of the episode, whether it’s the manga or anime (specifically subbed) is by far my favorite piece of yugioh media. I swear if you have a chance to check it out in your own time it’s actually fire

The Floral Clock here also appeared in an episode of the Toei Yugioh series dubbed as Season 0 by fans
The episode used a Floral clock as a clue for a Sadistic Bomber's plan {The Bomber was voiced by Dragonball Z villain Freeza's Japanese va too} in ..... An Amusement Park (Fun fact: In the Toei anime of Yugioh DARK Yugi punishes bad people with custom Shadow Games that didn't involve the Card game as the Card game became Popular after the one chapter Duel against Kaiba who was depicted with Green hair originally
This is where the "Screw the rules, I have Green Hair" joke comes from in a flashback gag back in a previous episode in a previous season of YGO abridged
That chapter by the way of the Original manga Duel Monsters as it was soon called was originally called Wizards and Magic with the "Wizards" being the Duelists)

Dammit, Rebecca's character is literally the embodiment of wasted potential in the Yugioh world. A badass duelist and hacker, but they chose to base her entire personality around her crush on Yugi. They hung out for one day and two seasons later, she turns up out of nowhere and acts like she owns him. That shit should NEVER have happened.

Will you ever do the yugioh 5ds abridged and the bonds beyond time abridged movie ? Idk if anyone has mentioned them but yugi does make an apperance and also youll learn a bit of history on the other 2 protagonists after duel monsters.

3-DAYS CONTINUOUSLY! I was watching the entire series from scratch ep1 and i finnally caught up and wow what a series i am happy it was mentioned because i watched dbz abridged long time ago and rewatched as well but i am glad this masterpiece series was mentioned and yes the line if you remember of one if the intro if episodes, "You could be doing something outside but you're watching Yu-Gi-Oh". And your response which was same case bere *I don't wanna* 😂 i am gonna miss this series so much we got movies and all but it is so good and i would have definitely not watched yugioh but due to LittleB (also credits goes to 4kids) since they gave LB so much potential and Plot-holes and great dialogues to make this. Now watching The Cell games, Yugi aka yami the king of games entrance will be so much fun and epic.

Yeah, the Manga is EXTREMELY dark
And also there are big Differences in the Manga
Pegasus actually dies in the Manga when Yami/Dark Bakura steals the Millennium Eye. (Completely with him licking the blood off the item)
And a big deal here, as well Kaiba unlike in the Anime will not be at the Ceremony duel
So, the question is will LittleKuriboh edit him out when they get there

As Kaiba doesn't need Closure in the anime with his grudge against Yami Yugi or just Yami
As for Grandpa's weird face he makes, that's in the original anime too. For the same reason basically (Except in the Official 4kids dub where the reason is Censored) in the Japanese unedited anime Solomon Mutou is a Stereotypical pervy old man ala Master Roshi in Dragon ball (Before DRAGONBALL Super that is)
