What do you disagree with on this list??
My biggest question for lists like this is whether or not you want to change your mind? Like do you want some decks that work really well for the heroes you ranked low?

@@NelsonAllOverCards WM with agent 13 really changed my opinion about him. She boosts the ammunition bunker and really makes him feel like the one man army he is, both in Leadership and Justice. And if you don't hit the bunker, double helicarrier is a great consolation prize.
@@NelsonAllOverCards and just like you, I thought Adam Warlock was kind of "solved" with the tutoring deck, but then I tried an expensive ally deck similar to the one played by PlayDGame and it was really fun!
Bootcamp boosted, summoning recurrence, healing of your allies+team training, triskellion to get more of them.
I tend to avoid playing ally heavy because chump blocking feels wrong (it's too much value vs the rest in the game) but in this deck the allies shine a lot.
I love playing Dr. Strange. I just match him up against very tough villains in expert mode.
It’s so fun to get Cosmo loaded up with inspired, side arm, laser blaster, honorary avenger, sky cycle… and use get ready, command team, & earth’s mightiest heroes to go crazy😊
I love that some heroes on your “if I lost them I wouldn’t be sad” are at the top of other folks’ favorite heroes lists. Such a fun game and nearly all heroes are super subjective. And then there’s Valkyrie.
It is truely amazing! I love how now everyone likes the same hero!

Spectrum has slowly become one of my favorite heroes. I agree that she can be annoying if she gets stuck in a form but I find it worth in the long run.
I especially like playing her in protection using pulsar shield, flow like water and ever vigilant so she is constantly ready. Doing 2-6 damage on the villains turn then using gamma blast and basic attack to do another 11 damage makes her more than worth it for me

I think the best thing about these lists is less about what what you think about the hero and more what it reveals about your play style. Clearly you and I are similar in some ways, but I think the biggest difference between us is you appear to be seeking a challenge/trying to make an ok hero work. Whereas I ain’t got time for that 🤣 and I quite unapologetically enjoy the strong heroes lol. Maybe I’m a bit of a little Timmy but I do love feeling powerful, and I feel like most co-op games are going out of their way to beat you over the head and that gets old after awhile 🤣

I live for difficult coop games lol but I do love that champions has a long sliding scale of difficulty which means pretty much anyone can find a difficulty setting they enjoy!

This is so funny because I came here specifically because I just had a game with Spectrum I loved and I wanted to hear what somebody thought about her.
Super surprised you didn't like her haha. That's so crazy to me because I agree with most of the rest of the list (quicksilver is my favorite of all time he's just so much fun).

Hey! I will say I’ve been playing Spectrum a bit over the last few weeks and she has really grown on me!
I have Doctor Strange's deck sitting in the back for that particular scenario that pisses me off to no end, that's when I play it. I had a similar deck when I played LotR LCG, a deck that abused Elrond's Vilya ring attachment, but I only used it when I got my butt kicked 7 times in a row. Great list, I just got into MC(and bought way to much already) and I'm trying to have fun with deck building and using each hero in a fun way(Ghost Spider and Cyclops are my faves so far) instead of making the "end all, be all deck" which was my problem with LOTR sometimes
Welcome to MC! One of the benefits, when compared to LOTR, is the modularity of difficulty meaning you do not need to play the top OP cards all the time for each scenario, it really makes it more diverse!
I got the game for Xmas last year, started playing it 2 weeks ago and just bought my 6th expension... Dam this game is addicting. Btw great content for new players! Really help me see whats what because there is ALOT.

I love Ghost Spider and her Obligation doesn't even factor into that.
If you get the obligation early, you tutor George Stacy (just have to exhaust in alter-ego to get him to your hand)
If you save one copy of "Pirouette and Punch" on George Stacy, you can cancel her obligation if it flips as an encounter card.
My favorite heroes are quite similar, I enjoy playing versatile heroes that allow you to chain multiple actions and optimize the damage/thwart output vs just strong heroes/single events.
The first time I played QS, it blew my mind how the feeling of going really fast and doing everything was there. Especially in multiplayer, as you can use serval industries to reshuffle your always be running and maximum velocity to start doing at least 12 DMG/THW every turn almost for free due to friction resistance.
yessss Quicksilver just throws down and I love it! So versatile! I have not played him much in multiplayer, but it sounds like I need to!
It's always interesting to me seeing where my picks end up on someone else's list. I'm just relieved to see someone else who actually loves Colossus lol. He's top 3 for me although I play him as rush Aggression. You have a Justice recommendation?

Hey, great video. Have you seen the she hulk deck "Jennifer Walters, Rules Lawyer" ? New Errata changes mean Superhuman Strength no longer leaves if the response doesn't trigger. So killing the minion, or keeping a villain stunned etc. Interesting concept that could really give her some love.
Would you consider a similar video for power scaling? Just a thought!

I honestly have so much success with him and love how he plays. But I guess lower power was expected given his dependency on certain cards and difficulty with stun resistant enemies.
I've been playing a Lot of Angel in aggression (by far the most fun aspect) but I struggle with a rush play-style. Very high risk/high reward. Can't wait to see your take when he's out out (I was lucky enough to receive early.)

I love the general idea of She-Hulk and enjoy playing her, but I think there they got the card frequencies a bit wrong. A second Gamma Slam while reducing ground slam to one would make her a lot more viable and less dependent on luck. Still, she deserves more love imo 😂
I still enjoy her a lot (in multiplayer at least) but I understand the hate she gets as she does have too many bad/overpriced cards.
After playing them, where do you think Rogue and Gambit would fall on this list?
That is a tough question! Gambit probably right in front of Rocket and Rogue after Cyclops

** I realize you didn't make the claim that Dr. Strange was a bad design per se, these are just my thoughts.
I think the thing about characters like Doctor Strange, Spider-Ham and Hulk (and fill in whoever else), is that the designers take into consideration the fact that there are lots of different kinds of gamers. Serious players don't see much challenge with Dr. Strange, but casual gamers see the entire game as a huge challenge they can barely overcome, even with Strange, and casual players losing every game is bad for business. Same with Spider-Ham though I think they went for a younger audience with that hero. Hulk... while questionable, yes, is very easy to understand. Long story short, I think some of the heroes are designed to help different kinds of people experience the game. It does stink for the rest of us that would love to have a more enjoyable Hulk though!
Totally agree! Sorry if I came across that these were not designed well, I think most heroes are designed really well and perfect balance is not only impossible, it would be boring to expect! I enjoy a doable, un-frustrating, challenge so heroes like Strange are just stronger than I prefer. That being said I am glad the Sorcerer Supreme (*eh maybe not anymore) is very very powerful!
Where would you slot Gambit and Rogue in this tier list?
Ooooh that is a hard one! I really like Gambit! Rogue is probably towards the bottom of the list, but I could see Gambit landing a top 15 spot!
I wonder how would you rate Phoenix after new Pyschionic cards?

Quicksilver deserves that spot, he's soooo fun. Only SP//dr might compete with him for me, now that I understand her. My biggest differences of opinion are on the overpowered heroes; I love Doctor Strange and Spider-ham because I don't mind the OPness; sometimes you just wanna beat some bad guys up, ya know?
Black Widow is a lot more fun with a SHIELD justice deck, but then again SHIELD justice is just fun anyway. :P I'm shocked you haven't played a repurpose deck with Rocket, IMO that is *the* way to play him, especially in solo.
Agreed on SpiderMan Peter Parker. I think the only improvement he could use is if the tracers were upgrades that stayed on the table

I don't think they need to redo a hero entirely, maybe just throw in a new hero/alter ego card for the Hulk for example, or have the Web Warriors title for Spider-Man.

Fun is subjective, so you can't judge it the same way as Power tier lists.
But, I think you are sleeping on Spectrum hard - Form Lock is only really an issue if you are stuck in Pulsar form, and you can avoid that my just not playing Pulsar Shield when you don't have a way to get back. She has very strong economy (2 cost for unrestricted resource gen is standard - Cap, Thor, DS, Storm, Nebula, etc), built in Aerial, access to form change cards. She is really strong with strong decks in all aspects, One of my top most favorite heroes.
I think Ironheart is the most fun of all of the sig kit focused imo. She is powerful, but in my games (which are 2 handed or MP), she doesn't dominate the game like DS.
Colossus versus WM takes is really interesting to me because they are actually pretty similar (Different gimmick but similar playstyles). Do think WM is better in MP, especially with a Justice partner.
I need to try her again, I think I got locked too much too early and it just put a sour taste in my mouth for her, but would be more than happy to change my mind on her!
I agree with Ironheat, she is strong but not DS strong. I think most of my dislike came from her being way stronger than I was expecting and I was hoping for a more engaging playstyle which was subverted by how easy it is to level up!
I never thought about it that way haha, I think Colossus is more fun to me because of the extra resource being a tough (which can soak damage or do crazy things) where the ammo counters are just to fuel war machine so there is less decision space on how and when to use that extra resource.

Unpopular Opinion: There aren't really "win condition" cards in this game unlike TCG's. That being said, I don't see inherent value in a 40 card deck for most heroes, particularly given the penalty cost of decking and the availability of mulligans and the way the draw phase functions. Outside of very particular situations running closer to card cap seems to provide more value. Extra encounter cards are not fun.
I see your angle, but I think running the min allows you to be able to hit your more important cards earlier. Hero cards (in most cases) are better value for their cost and you are hard capped at 15 of them. So if you run 25 more cards you can get to your Unleash the Nova Force or Pheromones more consistently which will most likely give you a higher chance of winning.
Yes the encounter card is bad, but if you can win 2 turns earlier because you drew your drew your dive bomb two turns quicker (50 cards is around 2 turns longer to deck than a 40 card deck) then you are still net -1 encounter card.
At least that’s how I see it - Smaller deck = more consistency in getting your “winning” cards
@@NelsonAllOverCards This could be due to the fact that I play with a 3 person group minimum so that could be influencing my bias some, but my experience has always been a board building one. I’ve never played a single game where every person hasn’t decked at least one time, meaning encountering those cards sooner generally wouldn’t have mattered. I could see consistency being more important if you’re paying a stun lock solo build though where you “need” certain cards.
Man, I just got Mad Titan's Shadow, and boy do I regret it. Spectrum and Adam Warlock are the all-time worst heroes ever. Man do they have a lot of Superpower [Superannoying] cards!
Black Widow is one of the best Justice characters out there period! And she may not consistently have explosive turns but she can have them. 😀
She can be very excellent at thwarting! Unfortunately that is just not my favorite way to play! Where does she land for you on this list?
@@NelsonAllOverCards The thing is with cards like One Way or Another, Turn the Tide and other such justice cards, she can actually utilize thwart in cool combos so that thwarting becomes a means to an end for things like damage, locking an opponent out of a turn and removing potentially painful side schemes early to mid game.
And for me, that's when it's most thematic; when she's exploiting the aspect to manipulate the the enemy in ways only justice can. She's one of the most thematic of all the champions heroes.
She's one of my top 5, next to my other 4: Rocket (Protection), Doctor Strange (any aspect), Captain America (any aspect) and Colossus (Aggression).
I think every single one of Spectrums events lets her change forms so whoever was getting locked into a form is drunk.
I guess it would be better to say “get locked out of a form” so if you need to get to gamma then there’s only a handful of ways to do so

Thor has zero issues in solo. He has a perfect kit. Defender of the Nine Realms is an incredible thwart event.
I had had issues getting set up quickly enough, but I will need to give him another try, I am really looking forward to his hero spotlight!
@@NelsonAllOverCards yeah there are many heroes who can struggle with that. Biggest advice is skip Asgard and get the resource generators out. Tank minions and use Allie’s to control more threat. Asgard is good second deck pass or a must if you are fighting a minionless deck.

With the understanding that this ranking is your subjective opinion on your enjoyment of each hero, and that my comments below are not disputing it or calling you wrong:
1. 100% agree with Quicksilver, he's always under people's radar, but he's amazing.
2. Nova is OVERRATED. For Unleash to give max satisfaction, it takes a confluence of board state and cards in hand that mostly is out of your control. Sure, it's great when it hits. When it doesn't, Nova is nothing but a 1 THW 1 ATK pinger with very mid hero cards.
3. Spider-Ham is so good, but agree he's not for everyone. Twitch comments said he's "crept Nova" which is true, but at least he gets to augment both ATK and THW, his cards are way better, and toon counters place a higher barrier to success than Nova's helmet (bad from a power level perspective but presents more decision making and sequencing of play).
4. War Machine, in contrast to Nova, is so underrated. Munitions bunker will only get you to 7 immediate counters (you'll wait for the next round refresh to transfer if you AE action twice).
5. Black Widow is one of the most enjoyable heroes in the game, because her cost/benefit ratio is so good. Great payoffs on her tech, none of which is forced response so you have better control over how you influence the board. Plus she's one of the few heroes that can comfortably stay in AE without getting heavily punished or losing efficiency, which gives her great resilience when she needs to rebuild.
Quicksilver is so much fun!
But that is what I love about the Nova build! Is you can build the deck to create the problems he needs to solve (One Way or Another or like minion hunting!)
Yea I wonder if they went with a really strong hero for Spider Ham because they wanted people to pick him up, I know there were already people not buying him because of his silly kit (which I do enjoy), and if he wasnt strong would he just move less units?
I think War Machine is good, I just dont really enjoy his playstyle, he feels like he plays the same each game I bring him out and I dont love how little decision space there is for him

Sp//Dr is one of, if not the single most horrible solo heroes in the game, she sucks the enjoyment out of the game so hard! My advice is to use her cards for other heroes and leave her in a box somewhere, she was so bad she made the game lose all semblance of being fun. There's no getting around a hand size of 3, sorry.
