    What are your thoughts on Deadpool?

  • @ramonosuke
    @ramonosuke Před 9 měsíci +8

    I’m right there with ya…we need a Daredevil hero already! 😊
    I think Deadpool is that hero I play when a villain setup drives me up a wall, and I just want to absolutely destroy them. Been off of MC for months due to being in a “painting miniatures mood” but I really need to get it back to the table

    Down Time is my favorite card in the game. I love the art, the flavor text is great, and the effect is awesome. If I have to recover, then I want it to be as effective as possible. Deadpool encouraging a recovery? Amazing. I include one copy in every deck I play, but I do play a lot of 2 player with my boys.

    I ranked Deadpool as A tier in my power ranking video, but you may have changed my mind! Watching your Thanos game it really felt like Deadpool couldn't die and although my playstyle was to try to avoid triggering the Regeneratin' Degenerate, maybe I should lean more into it like you. Solid review, I'm definitely questioning my original stance.
    In regards to multiplayer, Deadpool has been great. I played him 3 player against Venom Goblin and although the acceleration tokens got very annoying for my group, we were able to burst him down at the end (Deadpool doing over 50 damage to cleanup). Like you stated, having It Ain't Over compensates so much for the acceleration.

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I think if you are rushing those acceleration tokens really dont matter, either that or if you can get It Aint over out soon you will be golden!
      Glad to hear that he is solid in Multiplayer as well!

    Killing the villain in 2 turns is more of a pure solo thing. I play multiplayer 95% of the time, so just wanted to mention that.

      Yes... That's why he says, at the beginning of the video, that these are evaluated as a solo hero.

  • @trippbryan6176
    @trippbryan6176 Před 9 měsíci +2

    You should give the Pool aspect another shot. There are some really interesting combos that you can use without even playing it too risky. I really want to give Quick Silver some laser swords and boost his attack as high as I can😁
    Also I think that Deadpool is as powerful as Strange! The ability to win the game before the villain has time to curve is insane. I just beat expert Green Goblin with Deadpool Pool aspect in three turns with no trouble. The extra five encounter cards I was dealt didn't even have time to affect me.
    I think it would be crazy to do a two handed solo Deadpool and Strange build! The power would be insane!

    Imo, Pool (and any other "bonus aspect" as I'm gonna call them) should be brought up in this seires IF it's note worthy. Like if bazooka is really good on the hero for instance.

  • @no-feetmcgee5577
    @no-feetmcgee5577 Před 9 měsíci

    It'd be super interesting if we ever got a villain (or even just encounter card) with the opposite ability of Taskmaster, so that you take 1 damage every time you go to alter-ego. It'd be mostly just annoying for most heroes but would totally nuke Deadpool.

  • @Ddwlf27
    @Ddwlf27 Před 9 měsíci +1

    I think the community aspect poll was highly precon biased here.
    That said, i do think you are underrating pool aspect. As you alluded to, a mostly basic deck with the pool resources and a handful of other good pool cards is really strong.
    He is an incredibly wierd hero to rate.
    He is really strong for all the reasons you stated, but he can also just randomly die to certain encounter cards.
    We had our Deadpool die to Quickstrike Kraken, for example.
    So im not entirely sure where i rank him, i need to play him more, but i highly suspect that there is a difference in MP vs Solo.

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Před 9 měsíci

      That is fair! And I know I am, I have been focusing a lot on Deadpool right now and I need to try more pool decks when I get back from my convention!
      And totally agree, I think he can be strong in MP, but solo is where he is going to thrive the most!

  • @haglaz1310
    @haglaz1310 Před 9 měsíci +1

    I actually think thant Deadpool is the strongest hero right now. Most of the loses i take (which weren't many), was for the Pool aspect. His kit is so cohessive and strong, rush or long term. Dr. Strange has a (minor) weakness: minion swarm (and Stalwart, to an even minor degree), Deadpool doesn't; he can do little scatter damage (katanas), can status the villain (witohout depend on that), can thwart and attack on big numbers, can heal consistently, have good economy. In solo Aggression, he's a blast.
    To diversify, in mulitplayer i use him in Protection in a support and cleric role to heal X-23 (Aggression) and Honey Badger, and when X is ready, both unleash a lot of damage.
    As always, sorry for my bad english.

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Před 9 měsíci +1

      He is so incredibly powerful! I think the only reason that I had him lower than Strange is that there are tense moments and it takes a bit more care to make sure Deadpool doesnt die on some of the longer fights, but Strange kinda just doesnt care.
      All that being said against a random villain it could be a coin flip on who is the best!

    • @haglaz1310
      @haglaz1310 Před 9 měsíci

      @@NelsonAllOverCards yeah, i can definitely see that. There is also the hero's playstyle that incentivate to have YOLO moments and, obviously, that doesn't always pay off.

  • @wastelandsniper789
    @wastelandsniper789 Před 9 měsíci +2

    Admit it, calling Deadpool Daredevil is just you trying to subtly push FFG to finally release a Daredevil hero. Which is fair, because where the hell is Daredevil, FFG?!?!?
    On a more serious note, I haven't played Deadpool nearly as much as you have, but what little I have, I've enjoyed. Though my friends and I lost the last game we played where I was playing Deadpool. To be fair, one of the factors in that loss was my fault for not having enough thwarting in the deck (I was playing Justice) and that is because I don't do a lot of building for multiplayer so I'm not good at gauging how much thwart I need at a 3-4 player count. I also need to learn his tempo. But all in all, I love how his kit actually works and I really want to get a deck dialed in for him.
    I do need to think more about what weapon card I want to use in conjunction with Armed to the Teeth. Laser Swords is definitely a good one, though I almost want to lean toward anything that comes into play with counters on it just because being able to bounce it in and out of play to keep it loaded without paying for it seems so strong.

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hhahaha you caught me!
      I think his power level drops a good number of spots when you take him to a multiplayer game, not that he cant be good, just he has to be a bit more restrained and can cause issues for the rest of the cable
      Really great point re the counters! I a really hoping that we get more weapons soon!

  • @Ziggybits

    @ 19:00 you are saying Moira lets you draw a card when you flip into alter ego from giving you that 6th card. I believe the card is when your already in alter ego from and your going INTO hero, so would essentially have a hand size of 7. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @NelsonAllOverCards
      @NelsonAllOverCards  Před 8 měsíci

      You are right, you get the card going to hero form
      What I was trying to say is that usually I only have 5 cards in my hand because I draw to five in hero form, then get hit by the villain which flips me to alter ego with his ability, then on my flip back up Moira gets me a 6th card
      Hope that makes sense!

    Very cool! Do you feel like he will hold long term interest? It sounds like he will always do this one thing really well (quick burst damage) no matter what happens in the game ecosystem.
    Is there a concern that any fun/unique decks will always feel suboptimal because of his inherent burst damage?

    • @NelsonAllOverCards

    I really don't understand why Deadpool is rank so high by most of the community. I've played a lot of Deadpool and just die against everything. Deadpool sucks against villains capable of doing indirect damage or direct damage even if you are in Alter-Ego form. Sandman (with the main scheme ability), Venom (with For Whom the Bell Tolls), Juggernaut (with Ground Pound), Magneto (with Metal Shards), Mr. Sinister (with Genetic Mastery) are all very high luck-based matches for Deadpool. I've lost more games with Deadpool than the totally of games with other heroes in the game.
