I think the close-up fighting works in this scene. Erratic shots plus close-ups incite tension without revealing the full picture, making Batman in this case appear more dangerous, like a horror monster. The Batman is way better. The action is clearer and the camera is rarely shaking. In Batman Begins you can barely tell what’s going on in the fight. Saying this movie tops The Batman by a longshot is an ignorant statement.
@@IAmThePunkSkunk In terms of fight scenes, Pattinson is clearly better than Bale. But Begins is more focused on HQs such as Year One. In The Batman, we can't recognise which HQ is focused on. It's more a personal interpretation for Matt Reeves than a movie based on comic books as Nolan did, with a bit of interpretation, of course. And for me, this makes Begins a bit better than The Batman.
people say bales batman wasn't brutal, this film shows him beating up bad guys left right and centre. Not just action packed film but with an excellent story.
Any others who really like these "Predator Map" -esque scenes? They take the time to show how scary Batman can really be, from the point of view of his "prey". This scene and the one in BvS where they find him in a corner of the ceiling and the cops shit themselves are 👌😄
This scene is all the more gratifying to the audience coming long after the scene where Bruce confronts Falcone in the restaurant where he is all powerful and he lectures Bruce about “you fear what you don’t understand” The look of terror on Falcone’s face and seeing his 🦷 fly on the headbutt is such a satisfying resolution to his demise.
The 2:41 timestamp with the soundtrack gives me shivers. Probably because of the build up and following his journey accumelates here in this moment, he has finally reached the point where he now is The Batman!
I just appreciate that Christopher Nolan directly tips his hat to Tim Burton's original take on Batman with Michael Keaton as Batman. This scene was, if not a shot for shot duplicate of that scene in Batman, it was a very close reimagining of that scene. The big differences? In Batman Begins, one of the thugs screams "Where are you?" and Tom Wilkinson as Carmine Falcone yells "what the hell are you?" To which the reply was "I'm Batman". In the original Batman with Michael Keaton, one thug asks "Who are you?" and Keaton replies "I'm Batman." So that was the biggest difference between the two scenes from each movie. And since Chris Nolan was basically rebooting the series, it made sense that this scene would be a strong nod to Tim Burton's original vision.
Line in 1989 Batman actually goes Thug: "Don't kill me man!" Batman: "I'm not going to kill you, I want you to tell your friends about me" Thug: "what are you?" Batman: *draws him close* "I'm Batman"
If I remember correctly, he lost his voice for three weeks after filming and didn't want to do it again afterwards. So for the following films they fixed his voice post production. I may be wrong or at least have some of the details mixed up. If any knows for sure feel free to correct me.
@@LordRevan329 freaking sucks if that happened. I give Ben Affleck or whoever came up with the idea of the voice changer. At least then it doesn't kill the voice.

I can only imagine the cheering at "im batman" and the laughter at "nice coat" like that's the second line that precedes "im batman"
-"Where are you?!"
-"Here."
-"GAAAHH!!!"
The scream gets me everytime
Batman Begins (2005):
"Who the hell are you?"
"I'm Batman"
And we got the greatest superhero trilogy.
The Batman(2022):
"Who the hell are you supposed to be?"
"I'm vengeance"
And with this, I sincerely hope we get great movies just as the Dark Knight trilogy.
Honestly I have faith in Robert, he is an excellent actor and he's been trapped in the shadow cast by those shitty Twilight films for way too long
@@FiftyStates5 keep faith in Matt Reeves as well
He said "what the hell are you?"*
They said it would be inspired by the nolan trilogy
the best *live action* "I am batman"
This exact scene is the reason why this movie tops “The Batman” by a longshot.
The Batman is way better. The action is clearer and the camera is rarely shaking. In Batman Begins you can barely tell what’s going on in the fight. Saying this movie tops The Batman by a longshot is an ignorant statement.
@@IAmThePunkSkunk maybe not by a longshot but it's still better lol
@@ryanh4145 Nah, The new batman is way more brutal. Christian Bale just swoops in and grabs people or beats people up quickly in fast moving shots.
@@IAmThePunkSkunk cope harder fanboy.
*THIS. IS. MY. BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!*
2:40 this part made me cry for real with that bgm🙌
Christian Bale is the Tobey Maguire of Batman
Yes
Christian bale is still relevant in Hollywood tobey isn’t. Bad comparison you made. Really horriblez
@@mikefit3343 Tobey will always be relevant....he immortal ❤️
Plus Tobey's back in no way home so less goo 🕷️🕸️
@@notnil_e3924 He’s back as a voice actor nothing more. This would be his first time back involved on the big screen since (2014)
Batman Begins is my favorite movie out of the trilogy. I think Bruce Wayne’s transition into the caped crusader is the most interesting plot line.
Man: Where are you ?
Batman: Here
😂😂
The best Batman in my opinion. And the intro to those criminals….ufffff!!!!
people say bales batman wasn't brutal, this film shows him beating up bad guys left right and centre. Not just action packed film but with an excellent story.
Any others who really like these "Predator Map" -esque scenes? They take the time to show how scary Batman can really be, from the point of view of his "prey". This scene and the one in BvS where they find him in a corner of the ceiling and the cops shit themselves are 👌😄
2:47 he was like "What...... the fuck"
All good actors are easy to work with. It's the ones that aren't very good who tend to be very difficult. Tom Wilkinson. R.I.P. gentleman.
Best Bale Batman suit, best Bale Batman voice, best Bale Batman film.
Best Batman movie.
Easily.
This scene is all the more gratifying to the audience coming long after the scene where Bruce confronts Falcone in the restaurant where he is all powerful and he lectures Bruce about “you fear what you don’t understand”
The look of terror on Falcone’s face and seeing his 🦷 fly on the headbutt is such a satisfying resolution to his demise.
I never noticed the tooth. I was too busy watching Falcone get headbutted by Batman.
The 2:41 timestamp with the soundtrack gives me shivers.
Probably because of the build up and following his journey accumelates here in this moment, he has finally reached the point where he now is The Batman!
I love the way he flies vertically upwards into space
I just appreciate that Christopher Nolan directly tips his hat to Tim Burton's original take on Batman with Michael Keaton as Batman.
This scene was, if not a shot for shot duplicate of that scene in Batman, it was a very close reimagining of that scene.
The big differences?
In Batman Begins, one of the thugs screams "Where are you?" and Tom Wilkinson as Carmine Falcone yells "what the hell are you?" To which the reply was "I'm Batman".
In the original Batman with Michael Keaton, one thug asks "Who are you?" and Keaton replies "I'm Batman."
So that was the biggest difference between the two scenes from each movie.
And since Chris Nolan was basically rebooting the series, it made sense that this scene would be a strong nod to Tim Burton's original vision.
Agreed, I’ve always loved that he paid respects the 89 film.
Line in 1989 Batman actually goes
Thug: "Don't kill me man!"
Batman: "I'm not going to kill you, I want you to tell your friends about me"
Thug: "what are you?"
Batman: *draws him close* "I'm Batman"
Don't you mean that was the biggest similarity? What other similarities were there?
Why did he have to change from this voice? This one was perfect.
@@LordRevan329 Incorrect, the director of the second movie wanted a stronger sounding voice so you got that crap in the second one.
No strepsil?
Admiral Talax but it’s the same director.
Why was the homeless guy hanging around the drug trafficking??
🤔🤔
They just want to show you how shitty Gotham is. There might be a girl raped in the corner and nobody will give a fck
Pikolow1 For the snacks?
To signify how this random homeless man is the only one whom watched him left Gotham as Bruce Wayne and returned as the caped crusader.
Why does a dog hang around the dinner table? ...... Joking. respect the homeless.
That's Boris the Blade
Awesome badass epic introduction to strike terror in the hearts of criminals of Gotham City.
Ben Affleck and Christopher Bale played an awesome Batman
Always Christian Bale still Best.
The build of fear and suspense around this scene is incredible. It reminds me of ‘Alien’.
Utterly awesome movie. For me Christian is the definitive Batman!
This never gets old
I was 9 years old when this came out and sitting in the movie theater for this scene was a great experience.
I love that the focus is on the bad guys and the terror Batman is instilling in them, which btw is some excellent acting. Batman is barely seen and is just a blur, even in the epic 1vMany fight.
If this was a modern Superhero film, it would be Batman's point of view easily clearing through an army of these faceless random bad guys with the focus on his badass fighting skills. Very mindless filmmaking
This movie is so much underrated. Too mature for large audience.
When he said "nice coat", he was referring to the tasteful thickness of it.
2:42-2:43 Christian Bale has the best Batman voice
