I drove one for a while. It has the driving dynamics of a pickup truck. Even American muscle cars which are meant for straight line performance handle better.

As an American my question is "Were Multiplas really THAT shitty?" because i've driven a PT cruiser. It's not just bad, that is a hateful little automobile.
@@freedbeefpontoons There were not. Just fugly to the point everyone was making fun of them, so to drive one you really had not to care about what other people were saying. Apart from that their owners loved them, thanks to the Multiplas unique 3 seats in the front solution, amazing practicality and above average reliability.

Oh my goodness, the fact that they ripped that 300 apart just hurt me. Come on, the 300zx is one of the best imports out there. It's such a gorgeous car.

Hurt me too, I love the 300ZX, (albeit I like the Z31 a little more than the Z32) they’re incredibly beautiful with they’re styling, the t-tops, the V6, (Turbo or not, both great) and the exhaust/tuning potential’s are great
They really roasted this Z hard. And I’d have to disagree about much better classic jdm sport cars for under 5k. The 300ZX is just a timeless gorgeous machine, regardless of turbo or not, manual or auto.

@@familyman831 The multipla can be the best fiat car for all I care, but it suffers from the "Beauty and the Beast" syndrome: the only way someone actually appreciates it is if they live in a fantasy world. It burns my eyes just looking at that crap from afar, it seems like someone put two Twingos on top of one another and pressed them together. XD
That 300ZX should definitely be the next project car on this channel, its well overdue to build a car on here

Its funny people spend so much money on a supra because it was in F&F, but you can get an equally good car for a fraction of the price. And the interior is higher quality in the 300zx

Only in Twin Turbo guise (this one is NA). I had a manual Twin Turbo for 15 years and it was fantastic.
As mentioned, hugely under rated and easily tunable. Standard Twin Turbos produced around 300hp which was almost mind blowing 32 years ago when they were launched.
It shows even the least desirable version (NA Auto) is appreciating. 10 years ago these were languishing around the £1k-1.5k price range.
Only underrated if it's Manual with a Twin-Turbo. It's one of the few times where I'd choose a Twin-Turbo Auto setup over a Manual N/A car simply because it NEEDS the Twin-Turbos to produce enough power to haul that boat anchor of a V6.
I just love how they picked the PT Cruiser for my home country😂

I just bought an all original manual trans 2+0 for $2000 back in January. Ran and drive great for the 260 mile drive back to my house and lasted for four months before the fuel pump died on me.

@@whatinthe4500 Older autos have that attached to them for a reason. It's the sluggish nature of older autos that make them undesirable to 'enthusiastic' drivers. The autos the manual version is faster than I mean.
Newer autos are much better so if someone says all autos are worse than the manual equivalent/a hypothetical manual version then yeah, I'd agree with you.
It doesn't stop me wanting a manual version regardless of whether it's faster or not, but that's just because I want to have change the gears myself, get the satisfaction of smooth changes, etc, more reward when I get the things right instead of just planting my foot and an auto dropping the gears for me. It also keeps me more focused on driving when I need to consider changing gears myself to overtake, etc. If I don't have much to do my mind wonders off. I also drive tractors and they're so slow, basically flat out everywhere, that I drift off thinking about other stuff and I can miss some things around me. A bit like how the character in the original Fast and Furious with the white VW Jetta is relaxed by engines, I'm relaxed by having a manual gearbox when driving.
Best car they've had in years just needs fixing up and a new gearbox.

The interesting thing about the PT Cruiser is that the inline 4 that most of them came with is actually not terrible. It's a fairly torquey engine. The unfortunate news is that pretty much all non-JDM 300ZX with automatics had no option for the twin-turbo package that makes them legitimately fast, and it wouldn't have been in budget if it did have that, because those models are still quite desirable. Overall, the Porsche is the best option of the lot even with the janky roof, because the PT Cruiser handles terribly and the 300ZX without its turbos isn't a particularly fast car, though it does make a very nice grand tourer, since it does have enough power to handle high speeds fairly easily, even if the acceleration isn't great.
