    Consistency & embracing my hair w out a the use of wigs, weaves, braids is Def key to healthy hair growth for sure! I'm out of two stage and my hair is thriving like I've never seen b4! I'm blown away w my results! My hair has become more manageable than ever! I brush my hair like 3 times a day(cuz it feels that good) and my hair feels like I have a relaxer and I don't! I'm in love w my hair these days and not bcuz it's longer but bcuz it's so easy to deal with! I am never going back to any chemicals again, thank u Yeshuah the Christ!

      @@LunaLaLove33 honestly, I don't even buy anything special or name brand! I wash and condition w V05 and seal my moisture w a diy hairfood oil. I've incorporated brushing my hair/scalp since it was very short. I keep my ends trim, moisturize and very happy. That's why my hair glides the brush down the hair shaft! My edges r back w vengeance! Which is another reason I left them braids alone for real. U just have to stay on top of moisture & protein & trim when needed. This will make ur life easier w no fairy knots. I also love washing my scalp daily or every 3 days to every week. Enjoy ur hair journey, get to know ur hair. I'm telling u, u will be absolutely amazed!🥰

    This info is helpful but I wish I could find someone with fine hair strands who achieved these goals who is not multi-ethnic. Protective styles without weave are nice when you have thick hair strands but fine hair it always looks sparse with flat twists etc and when you’re multi-ethnic their hair grows different and requires a different regimen and it’s so tough getting past bra length with thin hair that breaks for anything

    • @alamatablessing8651
      @alamatablessing8651 Před rokem +50

      My strands are fine and yes it can look sparse in twists. What I've done is embrace herbs in almost every step of my routine. I do hair masks on every washday. I use herbal rinse and I also consume herbs like moringa. These has helped my hair. When it comes to styling, try not to make it tiny. Keep it as big as possible, I'm talking 5 - 8 chunky twists and it won't look sparse at all. You can also do African threading.

      Try not to do hairstyles close to the scalp or that expose the scalp, like small cornrows and mini twists. The larger the hairstyle, the better.

      Hi. My hair is thin and very fragile as well. The struggle is real,I know. But here is what has helped my hair increase density & become stronger: onion juice, hot oil treatments & deep conditioners. Shea moisture deep conditioner Manuka & honey is the truth! Onion juice fills in those blank spots in the hair. Less manipulation is key too! I do my hair as less as possible, but baby my ends a lot with light oil. Now this last one is a no no in the natural hair community, but changed the game for me: use grease . Not a lot but some to seal in your moisture for a longer period of time. Think of it as a barrier to hold everything in. This has really helped my hair retain moisture which is retaining my length! My hair journey is giving me life right now since I’ve added grease as my last step to seal. Thank me later.😃❤

      My hair is just stagnant and low porosity. My sebum production is at three weeks and I don't even know my curl pattern, maybe 4a with Z pattern. I don't know if I should use the L. O. method or L. C. or L. C. O./L . O. C. on the same day or during the week. That's my frustrations and how often to really wash especially if it's oiled. I feel like I'm throwing away my expensive oil and that my hair isn't getting the full benefits of it by washing it weekly. Everyone in my area pride themselves on tightly braiding one's hair. You can hardly get a loose style that's just for stretching the hair. I guess I have to reiterate that to each of them every time and give them the styles as opposed to letting them choose. 🤷🏾‍♀️

      Thank you for being transparent. I can definitely relate to the part about going back to old habits. I gave birth to my fourth son in February. My schedule was very busy and I didn't know what I would do with my hair. Crochet styles where normally a go to. Since my hair is around bra strap to mid back the thought of briading turned me off. So decided to do some twist and im in love. Embracing my hair was a bug lesson over the summer bc I was determined to not wear wigs to cover up my hair. I hope more queens start to love their hair. You also won’t see my hair very often if the weather is really hot or really cold, my hair goes into hibernation during these times and I only wear my hair out without my hijab mainly in spring season because again the weather is not too hot or too cold. I love being natural….however I switched to straight natural (no relaxer of course!) after 10 years…because these hairstyles don’t really allow the enjoyment of the lengths being achieved…. because it’s always tucked away in a twist or braids or protective styles. I felt like, for me, always wearing it in braids or twist to retain length didn’t make me that happy. I really enjoy wearing it out and stretched. Weather a blown out twist out or straightening it.
    Now, While being a responsible and careful straight natural. It allows more room to enjoy length and styles.
    I learned stretch styles, like you’ve mentioned. As well as consistent moisture regimens allow hair to really thrive…even to waist length and beyond.
    I’m not sure if this will resonate with you but hopefully more natural pages explore the concept of stretch styles that we can wear out and healthy ways to maintain it so people can be less apt to getting perms, as we’ve recently seen.

    • @Gigimarie365
      @Gigimarie365 Před rokem +6

      @@sagittariusbeauty hey! I use heat once a month by straightening it. I did a ton of research on straight naturals and found some on Tik Tok and CZcams who had achieved my goal length which was waist length. I copied some of their regimines and tweeked some to fit my goal of little to no heat damage.
      I discovered they use salon quality products to *clarify* their hair during wash days to get all the build up off of their hair/scalp. Also…deep conditioner and trimming *all split ends* was found in ALL of their regimens. Each one with waist length spoke on those 3 things. Clarifying minimum once a month, deep conditioning, trimming (and a good heat protectant of course).
      During summer months I do more blow dried twist outs…I retain length in stretched style. My wash and gos (which was my go to) kept my hair the same length for 5+ years

    I'd like to add an option to your stretched style list. I've been using a Revair to stretch my hair after washing, and it has been a game changer. I never use it to get my hair completely dry. I don't want to dry out the ends. It's very low heat even at the 'high' setting, and I use a leave in conditioner and heat protectant for good measure. I've not been getting any damage from the heat, and don't have to use any real tension for stretching. I only use 50% tension for what the machine does, very gentle. I can then twist, braid, or curl my hair without tangled ends or knots and wash day also allows me to keep my hair stretched.
    The only time I get knots is if I skip the revair and do a twist out or braids on wet hair, or if I curl after the revair and leave it loose for several days, just putting a bonnet on overnight without putting the foam curlers back in. So long as I don't do either of those things, I have very easy detangling before washing and no knots. I try to make it a rare treat to curl my hair and wear it lose, with its length really showing. Mostly I just try to keep it tidy and well groomed looking, and healthy, clean and moisturized.

    Great video. It's a confirmation for me. At the beginning of this year, I started to twist my hair instead of braids, in my usual four sections. I then put in my usual ponytail. The other thing I started to do was stretch my hair. This along with twisting instead of braiding has made a big difference. My hair is very curly at the end but when I stretch it out, my hair goes straight and it doesn't tangle like it used to. I think if I had done that from the beginning, I might be further along. But I thank God that I have any hair, since I've had to deal with sickness, but the Lord has and is healing me completely. Thank you Jesus. Thank you, I will continue to do this and look forward to the next video.

    I'm currently at this stage. Aiming for waiste length in 2023 God willing. Throughout the spring/summer I wear my hair in stretched protective styles such as medium size flat twists and mini twists. Washing my hair 2 to 3 weeks at a time if wearing medium size flat twists. Mini twists I can go up to 4 weeks of wearing them. For the fall/winter months I wash my hair every 2 weeks. All year round I refresh my scalp with rose water. I also straighten my hair in the winter with 2 week space in between heat styling.

    This video is so important to me. For years I didn't know how to care for my hair and it was always in tight braids and styles because didn't embrace it. I started watching green beauty about 8 years ago, finally I've made it past my neck and approaching bra lenght. I also learnt to wash my hair in braids.Looking forward to very healthy and beautiful longer hair. Thanks alot

    Wow i am glad I've been able to do all these that you said without even someone telling me. I wash my hair weekly, moisturized two times a week since i have extreme dry 4c hair. Now i am at the midlength stage. I am going to follow your advices closely since i refer to them.

    Great video I know these videos are geared towards women and young girls, however as man I wish there was the odd man or young boy popping up now and again with hairstyles as it rare to see!
    This was very help as this video helped reassured I am doing right with my hair this stage, also any future daughters I have I can help care for their hair as well as my own.
