Wow as a Licensed Cosmetologist whose done a lot of research in my life.I had no idea that inflammation affects your scalp.. I knew that it's the primary cause for every disease in the body, but never equated it to the scalp...What an Ah ha moment. This makes so much sense.. I've been guilty of leaving my scarf on too long as well. Thank you for the extensive research you do and the animated way you present it sets you apart out here in this social media hair game.. Great job!!!!
Iâm guilty too, leaving my bonnet on all day long, like why Iâm not in bed đ€ŠđŸââïž?
UPDATE, I want to say thank you for responding to my previous message. I was at a very emotional state. But I'm here to say my hair is growing back and thicker and healthier. I can stop crying now. A combination of DIY rice water a few times, clove water with rosemary oil. Also, lack of Vitamin D is what was happening. From the bottom of my heart thank you! I wish you nothing but success!!!
I'm so happy to hear that. You identifying the issue is a big deal. You're on the path to a full recovery đ

The way to combat this is to strengthen your kidneys and liver. The inflammation is caused by stagnant lymph fluid. (lymph is the body's sewer system, it carries cellular waste and other waste away to be eliminated by the kidneys)
When your waste system is backed up, (through years of wear and tear and stress caused by a diet of processed food, drugs and alcohol) The lymph fluid that transports the cell trash (otherwise known as pus) begins to find other ways of elimination.
Pus is essentially white blood cells that have eaten either bacteria, viruses, hormones (like DHT) or simply cell waste that then die, and must be eliminated by the body.
acne, eczema, rashes, ect. occur because the body will begin to store the acidic waste in areas of the body that are the least detrimental to store it. when it isnt being eliminated properly by your kidneys. (Its not gonna let that waste sit near your vital organs)
It will begin to store this waste within tissues, this is why people get cysts, (I know you've seen those pimple popping videos) arthritis and many other inflammatory conditions (any disease that ends in "itis" means inflammation)
Your Scalp is another place the body will store these acidic wastes, which will over time cause inflammation and weaken the hair follicles.
To combat this you must go to the root of the problem which is a overloaded lymphatic system, which is caused by weakened kidneys and liver.
A way to check is by collecting a sample of your pee in a clear glass, ( yeah ik its nasty) let it sit for about 12 hours, and check to see if there is any cloudy sediment settled at the bottom, if there is it means your kidneys are doing their job and eliminating the waste from your lymphatic system, but if the urine is clear, with no sediment, it means your kidneys are backed up, weak and not processing the waste through your urine as they should.
Thank you for sharing this information. I have taken my lymhatic system for granted. I will revisit the cleansing and herbal detox again.
Everything I've ever read about kidney function and urine quality indicated that urine should be clear or pale yellow - to indicate no gunk remains in the body/bloodstream. I think that seeing sediment 24hrs later, had I been checking that many hours later, would've had me running to the doctor in a panic! So, your statement about the sediment in urine after 24hrs, is very interesting (and I believe you); the idea of it leaves me both freaked out, and amazed. đ€Ż
@@70Sapphires Tell me, how does clear urine indicate no âgunkâ is in the body? If the urine is clear, where is the waste then? If anything that just tells me that that waste isnât filtering out like it should. It is the job of the kidneys to eliminate the waste brought to it by the lymphatic system. So if you arenât seeing that waste in your urine; (you see it clearly when it manifest as acne and cysts and exits through your skin) I think itâs safe to reason there is an issue there.
Here are some examples of others who have gotten their kidneys to function properly though fasts and healthy dieting

Another one is not to let someone braid ur hair and apply edge control all over the hair as they part and braid. That will clog ur hair follicles and creates a waxy build up. Thank u for ur wonderful informative videos. đŻ
yesssssssss!!!!! im so over it. what happened to braiding and cause you can braid the hair actually lays. sigh.
besides half those picture are filtered too.
@@sheamoniquedaniel1824 huh?
@@Jenw. to clarify. back in the day we didn't use all that to hold braids just braided and the hair laid well.
i also came to the realization that many of the pictures posted has a filter on them. like the make up pages i followed. So people slap sooo much product on the scalp and hair but there is no real need for all of that. in the end it does clog the follicles in the short term yes it looks amazing in the long term it can cause problems.
@@sheamoniquedaniel1824 oh okay gotcha. Yea I do remember in the early 2000s ppl didn't really use jam on the scalp for braids. And edge control wasn't even a thing back then. & that's so interesting about the filter over pics. I believe it too bc in person, so many ppl don't be having their parts sleek like the pics be lol.

Heat from the sun can also damage your scalp. Take a hat or scarf outside if you feel irritation on your scalp during sun exposure.
I'm here because I am suffering from hair loss and thinning. It's effecting my self image. I'm biracial USED to have thick curly hair. 1st I noticed my curls were not as curly. 2nd my thickness started to fade. 3rd hair started to fall out. No medical issues. Crying as I type because I feel there's no hope. I have no idea what to do. Thank you for creating your page for people like me. The calmness of your voice makes it easier with this topic. It's not really discussed in our community. One Love
Hello, I understand how stressful hair loss can be especially if you donât know the cause and what to do about it. The process you described definitely sounds like a health issue. Health can be confusing b/c there are so many test and so many diagnoses out there. Sometimes you need to just ignore all the noise and look within. Have you ever tried fasting? Fasting is a great way to give your body a break from digesting food so it can literally heal its self. Over time, it also cleans out your intestines so they can absorb nutrients and minerals better. I also suggest you try meditating and picking up a hobby whose purpose is JUST for enjoyment. Stress is a real issue in this âdeveloped worldâ and stress is often the root cause to all types of health issues. The path to health does not have to be complicated, you just have to prioritize putting yourself first. Pick yourself up and sit on your throne b/c I see from your tone and profile picture that you are beautiful.
@@GreenBeauty you nailed it. stress and stress. I just ordered Dr Sebi book of fasting. So I will follow your suggestion. your energy is insane! TY for the universe for bring your channel to me! Like I said before this topic is not discussed enough. I'll give you updates trying the rice water tonight to start it off.

Foreign objects in hair can cause inflammation like hair accessories:hair pens, hair clips, headbands, etc. I try to use a scrunchie to protect my ends, but it's tied on loosely. Always informative. Thanks â€ïž
Awesome video. Another one is hormonal imbalance. This isn't my video so I won't go indept. You can study how hormones affect hair. Mine hit me again during premenopause. I use maca, video internally. Very informative. Thank you for sharing. My thinning came from declining hormones and stress. Still trying to recover but Iâm not sure my hair will ever be the same. đ«
Great video thanks for posting
I want to add that the sun is a heat source, and just because a little is good for you, even if you don't actually burn, your scalp skin will get rough and leathery just like you see less melaninated people's facial skin getting as they age. I discovered this only recently when I discovered a thinning hair area at the back top of my head and realized it's where my wide brimmed sun visor I wear each day to walk the dog was leaving my hair exposed to the sun. I liked the hat because not having a top, it fit around my big head of hair, but now I've had to make the effort to find some men's fishing hats that don't look too masculine to wear instead. I hope I caught it in time and that that area of my scalp can recover.
Have you seen a change in your hair after wearing the hat? And did the hair loss come with tenderness too?
Yes,tension is a killer, even just doing the same style over and over, or keeping the same sections for prolonged periods.
Thatâs a great point. Iâve meaning to post a video on how to maintain a grid.
@@GreenBeauty looking forward to this. I love twists, but I've noticed thinning around my edges where I usually do my parts sá» I've taken a break, but I miss my twists
@@GreenBeauty please do,I would appreciate it!

This would be so awesome!
I have sisterlocks and have kept them shoulder length to prevent tension and thinning; yet, the thinning at top has started. I did a few apple cider vinegar scalp detoxs and do not tighten my hair all at once; with the top where the thinning is, done last and not to the scalp. None of my hair is tightened to the scalp. There is improvement and growth, thank goodness.
This weekend I had intended to take out my sisterlocks and switch to mini 2-strand twists. Have to admit, I really do no want to take out my sisterlocks but I want to stop the thinning completely. I cancelled my appt for this weekend and then came across this video. Thank you for your much much needed content. Blessings~
@GreenBeauty do you have any suggestions for protective hairstyle for people with really thin hair shoulder length? A hairstyle that would look good?

This makes sense for when I would wrap my hair when I was relaxed. When I would comb it down in the morning my scalp was so sensitive.
Wow
You are good sisđ„ș
I have dreadlocks. Putting my hair up before I go in the shower, even if I do it loosely, does put tension on my scalp. I didn't realize it until I had kept it up all day and realized parts of my scalp was sore once I finally let my hair down. I freeform, so with as much as my hair crisscrosses between locs, it's actually bad to force them to lay where they don't naturally lay or the tension is a lot more intense.
I use cool water now to wash my locs, great video!!
Thank you, sis!!
Wonderfully made video, clearly explained!!
TMH took His time when He created us!!
Everything about us, He made special: our hair, eyes, skin, teeth - all that makes us who we are!!đŻ
Love all this! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge! What would you suggest for postpartum shedding?
Another one is maintaining the pH of your scalp. I've used products that my scalp simply just doesn't care for. Most store-bought shampoos and conditioners drive my scalp crazy and will have me itching until my next wash. So I just make all my hair products now. It is still trial and error because what works for my scalp today may not work forever.
Agreed - I do this too now.
Can you do a video on low tension hairstyles. I do braids and twist with my natural hair all the time because it easier to deal with and makes it âpresentableâ for my work environment. The front of my hair is thinning and I think tension is the main culprit in my case.
Thank you for sharing.
WOOOOOW!! I'm learning. đł
So educative
A 5th reason could be a result of internal health issues (i.e. lack of proper nutrition/ nutrients).
Exactly. I had to buy an iron/zinc/folic acid vit recommended by my Doc and I've doubled my protein consumption after a recent miscarriage and month-long illness.
More on hair loss please đđœđđđœđ
Can you also please make a video on why men hair thin and other causes of thin hair?
Great video, I enjoyed it.
Covid thinned my hair out so bad. I will probably have to do a big chop soon
A lightbulb went off when you mentioned hooded dryers. My scalp has been extremely sore & sensitive & I had to see a doctor recently bcuz a bump came up & turned into an abcess. I never would have linked the hooded dryer to the issue & think this may be the cause bcuz I wash my hair every week. I'm so glad I found this video, definitely will stop using the dryer to see if it may be the cause.
Thank you.
Itâs so good to know exactly whatâs causing the problem. Iâm happy my video helped đđđ
If you must use a blow dryer to dry your hair , use the cool setting. It does take a little bit longer to dry but itâs totally worth it. Good Luck on your hair journey!
I agree! Since Iâve been getting knotless braids and they slather an excessive amount of braiding gel on my hair, it has destroyed my scalp! The tension on top of suffocating my hair follicles has been detrimental. Iâve experienced extreme thinning especially with the removal/detangle process. I know hair sheds after being in a protective style but it seems closer to falling out
Having a problem with low thyroid levels can also cause hair loss. I'm experiencing some hair loss around my temple area, this video has given me hope that I can do something about it, now that it's in the early stage. Thank you!
My hair started thinning and I just thought it was stress. It kept thinning to the point where I was able to see the scar from my brain surgery, and thatâs when I talked to my doctor. Test showed that I had hypothyroidism. It is so hard for me to keep my hair moisturized, but aloe vera and a water oil mixture have been helping.
@@texasflower1212 I'm sorry to hear, but that's why I started to make my own Aloe Vera hair oil as well.
Same here for me with the thyroid.
Hyperthyroidism as well. I'm just now seeing a bald patch become more full after 4 years.
@@pri_shay_dior may I ask what did you do to get fuller hair? I am supposed to be hypothyroid since I had a partial thyroidectomy, but some how I am still hyper.đ€·đŸââïž

I take pumpkin seed oil supplements for my inflammation. It works!!! I also make sure I take my iron supplements separately as iron need to be taken alone bcuz I have anemia. I also make sure to take vitamin D3 bcuz this was the reason why my hair was breaking at the ends as I was vitamin d3 deficient. Thanks sis for this awesome video. You know your sh*t. đ„°
I got my hair done in boxes plaits for Christmas but I will do all of this.đđđđđâ„ïžâ„ïž
Thank you for this †I think having a dirty or dry scalp is harmful. Since I've kept mine regularly cleaned and moisturized with light, anti-inflammatory, noncomedogenic (non pore-clogging) oils, I've had significant reduction in inflammation and improvement in hair growth and strand thickness.
Thanks for this wonderful video..
What is your view on using clove water
I love your channel. Will there be a Memorial Day weekend sale?
Amazing
Another thing to add:
Either stop wearing weave or start washing it, because itâs nasty and has plenty of harmful chemicals(mostly found in pesticides) in it, Iâve seen a shop cause balding in about 6 women just bc the weave brought to them was nasty.
True. I always shampoo and dry my wigs before I wear them.
Wow so true....I had to remove my 21 year locks that I had cover down for 6 years...thanks
This is good information. I find that the light-weight conditioners are not enough for my hair and I tend to prefer heavy creams. I don't apply product directly to my scalp but I usually try to get it as close to the scalp as possible to cover the hair near the roots. From now on, I'll make sure to start applying from one inch away. I will also give up super hot water to wash my hair
Yeah, I'm same. I like super hot water in general, but will tone it down. The thing with creams is that they melt so don't stay where we put them, so I too think adding more distance between the scalp is wise. The thing that makes it ok I think is that the first inch of hair is new hair anyway, so the healthiest hair of all. It also is the first lubricated by our natural sebum. So if we can accept puffier hairdos, due to the roots not lying flat, the hair will be fine there with no product. Here's hoping anyway!
Lady AAT, as long as you use a clarifying shampoo your good! As pastor TJ would say, "Eat the meat and throw a way the bone." Blessings always!
But I don't understand how my scalp will survive without moisturiser đ€
