Today we were speaking about an incredibly common condition that many veterans overlook in the VA disability claim filing process. Shaving bumps also referred to as pseudofolliculitis. Barbe are incredibly rampant among the military community due to the shaving requirements of service. In this video, I discuss how to identify and claim, this condition for being awarded service connection.
I do have 10% Tinnitus, you said there's Bilateral Radiculopathy, secondary presumptive symptoms. Severe Chronic Headache's, Chronic neck pain. Downloading the Lay statements VA form, for eyewitness of Sporadic Acute Episodes Blackout in the Hardware store November 2023. Mr. Jordan the research appears to be helping Veterans submit the required VA forms and Medical Evidence to support the truth of disabilities. Thank you for your service. God bless you
I’m happy you posted this because I just started my claims. Unfortunately I realized they didn’t include my shaving waiver in my medical records. Trying to figure out how to get it.
This was actually in our training manual in basic training back in 1982. My coworker got 60% total for that and the facial scaring
No kidding? That’s interesting, thanks for sharing that Carl 🫡
Great video brother 👍🏼💪🏼
Firm salute to you 🫡
Respect for calling it as it's, curly, not, coarse
I'm pretty new to this channel and its been great. I ETS in 40 days. I'm aware that things need to be documented to be service connected. I submitted my BDD claim through a VSO with 14 things on it. My VSO said that he couldn't pull records for sinusitis/rhinitis with nosebleeds and a few other things. Is it worth going to sick call while on terminal leave to get some other things documented? I've already gone through the majority of my medical appointments civilian side. Thanks in advance!
I had a shaving chit all 5 years while I was in the navy and had to get a c&p exam for my claim now still waiting to see if I get a rating
Wow. I didn't know. I actually had a Lazer hair treatment courtesy of the movie military. They almost kicked me out for it.
VA denied me with in service event, diagnosis in my medical records w/permanent shaving profile in service and had a surgical procedure that left a scar on my face from an infected ingrown hair the VA removed. Claim was denied a few years ago
Ah I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can tackle it again with better results sometime
If you have the evidence and you know you are right U don't accept no. U keep knocking on that door and it eventually get approved. Took me 10 years to win my entire fight with the VA and I'm glad I never quit even though I had for small periods at a time
got approved 50percent scarring and recurrent face infections Parris Island
I had a shaving profile during active duty . I got denied for that claim back then
Ah that’s tough, sorry to hear that
@@vaclaimsacademy it’s cool brother I’m now maxed out regarding to my service connected rating . I think I told you before that I’m at 90% with P&T with IU which of course the VA pays me at a 💯% service connected. But back to the subject I’m not sure if I got a 0% on that condition or I just got a denied claim on that . I need to go through my medical file through va.gov . Sorry for the long story on here brother . God bless you and keep posting more videos that will help us all benefit from it .
They forced me to shave for the first time in my life😤 I was naturally smooth until then. I'm definitely checking into this💯
Definitely, you may be diagnosed 🫡
I have this in my service treatment records
Perfect! This video was made for folks like you
I had a permanent shaving profile so i def should file
Well damn. I don’t even have curly hair but had a shaving profile.
Just letting anyone and everyone know the MHS genesis portal closes October 1 2024 so you need to go on there and download all your military service treatment records before you have to go through a file a form to which ever branch is doing medical records which can take a good while for you to get.
I have curly hair .I have huge keloids in the back of my neck and scalp .They started off small like pimples but just kept getting bigger and bigger .I was receiving steroid injections while in the service but they didn't seem to help .When I got out of the service I had Surgery 4 times 1by a civilian doctor and 3 by the VA the Surgeries didn't work .Every time I got surgery the keloids came back and bigger .The civilian Doctor asked me if I was Indian or Mexican Because she said my hair wasn't that curly most likely I got it from a dirty razor/hair clipper .I do get 60% for my keloids. The keloids have affected me because they are ugly to look at they are scarred .They itch a lot bleed and drain puss often I'm always scratching the back of my neck.I leave bloody pillows the collars on shirts jackets etc bother me when they rub up against the back of my neck .I use a CPAP machine and the harness for the CPAP machine bothers me because it sits on part of my keloids so i have to remove the mask ,Not to mention Barbers have refused to cut my hair due to my keloid situation .What type of secondary can I file for this .I filed for a review about 10 months ago but this was for my Keloids and left ankle .It was approved I went from 60% to 90% How much time should I wait before asking for another review ,I want to reach 100% .
Needless to say you’re one of the severe cases there, I’m sorry to hear you had to deal with that. If the record still isn’t set straight and you are missing something on your claim, fix it immediately! Even if you just got an increase awarded, if it ain’t right yet,it ain’t right yet
Shaving profile while deployed, no diagnosis...
Do you have a way i can reach out to you with some questions. I just refiled my neck and back got a 10 % increase for neck and 20% for back but am still 80%. They did not give me anything for radiculopathy it wasnt mentioned in the letter at all so idk if i should appeal or just refile a claim for radiculopathy on its own.
Sometimes they combine several claims into one claim and you can see that in your va.gov account or ebenefits portal. If you used a vso, you can reach out to them and they can answer any questions. If you have already filed that condition, there’s notes nothing to do but keep waiting.
I got this and they gave me shaving profile and still made me shave to the point they gave me shaving powder that smelled like rotten eggs.
Yikes not pleasant
There has to be an in service documentation? or since I have it but never claimed while in service can I still file ?
You can still get a nexus letter to attempt to tie it back to your service, but it’s not exactly reliable
Like the gloves😊
Haha they always get comments when I bust them out, thanks BigTime! Great to see you I hope you had a good weekend 🫡
OK...I got to ask.
Why are you wearing gloves, inside a building, during summer?
In between videos, are you welding or something?
😆 They’re just my favorite day gloves. Unlined peccary so not very hot thankfully
What’s up with the heavy gloves?? You okay
Dude, I can appreciate you wanting to dress up and look professional or successful in your videos, but the gloves are too much, they look silly. Less is more. And a traditional tie would look much better than that cravat. Keep up the good work.
Jordan got the gloves cuz he goes to work on these VA claims
I appreciate Jordan dresses exactly the way he likes & has the self respect to ignore negative comments... Jordan always looks nice & as far as I can tell, his choice of clothing has not affected his ability to help other veterans at all! TY Jordan!! 😊
@Ballerboithaone1 😂
Thanks for commenting!
Nah he looks debonair as hell but the gloves are a bit much lol much l
