- Please watch the whole video and read this whole description. I know it's a lot but otherwise you will not understand what we have and still are going through. 11-11-15, A phone call from the owner of felicia. She had colic the whole morning and the vet was already there but he couldnt help her. She had to go to a Veterinary Clinic in Utrecht. It was so upsetting when I found her in the stable, I've never seen her like that.
My mother told me that I had to hug her because it might be that last time I would see her. I can't explain how that feels.. It's terrible.
In Utrecht was her condition getting worse and worse so they had to do an operation immediately. She had a blockage and a wrick in her small intestine. It was 50% chance that she would get through the surgery. I've never cried so much in one day. Felicia is my life and I wouldn't know what to do without her. I can not describe to you how I would feel if I should miss felicia in my life. I have spent almost 10 years with her and there have to come so many more.
Luckily her condition was very good and because she is a very strong horse, she passed the operation/surgery. But.. The days that came after that are the hardest. Her small intestine had to go back to work after the surgery. After two days we were back at the beginning.. She had 40 degrees fever. So the drip had to be applied again.
On Sunday I finally could visit her in Utrecht. I was extremely happy to see her again. She'd have gone very backwards but I knew this. She has lost a lot of weight, and her eyes looked sadly.. But that is because she has been through so much and she barely understands what's going on. We needed those white suits and blue gloves because she had a virus and that is catching for other horses. The cut/wound that you will see at the end of the videois the scar on her stomach from the surgery. So big..
After this things were finally getting better.. we have not received more bad news and Felicia was allowed ten days after she has been in the clinic to go home.. ♥
I think you all understand that me and felicia have to do a big step back with what we have achieved but I'm willing to do anything for her. I have to go to her twice a day because the first two months she had to stay in the stables. But I'm glad she is still alive. I am the owner so gratefull for letting them do that operation. It consumes a lot of money and because she is almost 22 not everyone would choose to do this.
I've definitely realized how quickly everything can change and how happy I should be that I have her by my side, It's not that I'm not happy but because I take care of her for so long, it's just a habit that she is there. It has never been differently for my feeling.. and now it is..
We'll have to start all over again, but she is still with me .. that's the most important thing.

I'm literally crying but at the same time I'm so happy that everything turned out... 'well'. Don't look at it in a pessimistic way,don't think about what has happened to her,but think that she's still with you,pushing forward and... of course,it'd be a thousand times better if none of this would've happened but considering that this is reality,that it did happen,well,it got one of the best endings you could ever ask for. The only thing she needs now is that you're here for her,you have to be the strenght she's lacking right now,don't know if you get what I mean,I hope so.

I have a similar feeling to this as I saw my horse drop to the floor I was scared and I didn’t know what happened all I knew is that he dropped to the floor . I asked the people around me if it was the worst thing which has happened they didn’t answer me .... as I 13 yr old at this time I was scared and prince ( my horse ) changed me he made me stop hurting my self physically . He just made me me . We did so much together . My farther came home with an empty trailer that night ... I couldn’t bare the pain knowing he was gone .... knowing I could do nothing ... knowing nobody could do anything! I knew nobody can replace a bone of a horse and still let the horse do what they was doing . We did endurance and knowing that at the start of the season he was gone was horrible it set me back so much . So much I’ve quit riding for now . That yr before he was out to sleep I could of had the chance to ride for my county with him . I was given the chance to do it I declined as a knew it wasn’t gonna be the same without him . And until I think him again in another body of a horse I will never do anything like I used to again . And I just wish he was still here and I wish he didn’t have to go through what he did

I hate colic. My loan horse had it a few months ago and someone in the stables found him laying at the very top of our big pasture and had to litterely drag him down cause every time he stood up he would kick since it hurt. Some hours before, I rode him and he was very happy and ran like crazy and then this happened. But he was okay after a few days but we have to be very careful since he is 25 years old so that he doesn't get it again. He is also very picky about his water since in his bucket it has to be super clean but in the pasture he drinks from the creeks! Haha! Awesome video as always!

My horse died from colic and I didnt go to school for that whole week. She fell down and do not get up, I laid down hugging her and she suddenly stopped breathing. She died and I was just hugging her crying, I would not leave her and it was 2 in the morning. Everyone in my grade made a poster for me when I can back.
