So glad that you were able to visit Wupatki National Monument. You missed the petroglyph by not having the guide book....(sorry that you were not able to obtain inside the visitor's center). The Wukoki Pueblo down the road was very interesting, too, because you are allowed to climb inside parts of the home. Thank you video!

Further down that trail is the vent hole and another ring. I went back last year, and the visitor center was open and had so many interesting artifacts and information. This place never gets old! Last night on the TV news they said museums are likely to be closing, many will not reopen due to this Pandemic. How sad is that! So take us on a tour of as many sites as you can while you can Russ. We all appreciate and enjoy what you bring into our worlds. See You Soon!

I sincerely want to thank you for stopping at some of these lesser known spots, so many of us have driven past such places with the same admonition that "I'll have to stop there next time thru this way". Unfortunately for many of us "next time" is far and few between and that is to bad as we miss seeing much of the early history of our great country and how our early inhabitants coped with these harsh and desolate places. I have been hooked on Indian dwellings since a visit to Mesa Verde as a kid, just to marvel at the ingenuity it takes to build such dwellings, much less be able to sustain a village or town of any size. I am now in my old age trying to get back that way and make a grand tour of just Arizona and New Mexico and see every little known site I possibly can...your getting to them first and letting us go along has whetted my appetite to go even more...Thanks!

I was on that road between Flagstaff and Page in 1993 but heading south after going up to Hite ect. During that trip on that road, way out in the middle of nowhere, I drove through a 'cloud burst ' rainstorm. It's only lasted about 5 minutes or so but it was torrential. And the weird thing about it was, the road and countryside were bone dry either side of it.

It was raining hard and I was hiding in the visitor center. The visitor center did not change a bit in all these years. Obviously these guys did not get as much funding as the Sunset Crater did. This "castle" was built before the Sunset Crater eruption in the 10th or the 11th century. Looking at the way how they handled sandstone and the functionalities of the buildings, the civilization was not that primitive.

🙋‍♀️I 'd like to see one of these stone homes a little more intact. It's neat, but awkward to vision kitchen, fireplaces, windows, doors, etc. That TV room had a window way up, you'd need a ladder. No traces of fire places anywhere that I could see. That crow must have seen a mouse out there. I've never seen one hang around so long. Cute 'lil fella.👍 (Have you seen a place around the canyon called "the wave"? I just read about it in my MSN news, the beautifulest place in every state. That was near the Grand Canyon or part of it somehow.)
