Shilton having a solid game stands out for me watching this back.
It was not a penalty on Waddle, it was a very mild kick at best, clear sending off for Brehme, all day long and Platt sadly was level, the rule change on offside happening a couple of weeks after this..
06:10 so in 2022, Brehme is sent off for the challenge on Gascoigne, David Platt is onside on the ensuing kick, and England are in the final against Argentina. You can talk about 1966 all you want, but West Germany/Germany has definitely received preferential treatment in meaningful games versus England.
IThis is almost word for word what I was about to write having watched it again, Last week if the ref correctly gives the foul on Saka then france don't score there 1st goal, and the pen decision shortly after that on Kane, it sure does look like refs don't like England, and rgen costs England there managers jobs, it is not a nasty winning manager that England need, it's better referees
