This week we are back on the road to start our van life UK adventure. Before we can really get going though, there's some necessary electrical upgrades to be completed on the micro camper. We take Lous mum and head off wild camping our way towards Hereford, but as always, there's always something, a gas leak, a minor crash and some repairs on the road are in order this week!

Just a tip, are you or were you running out of gas as this sometimes let's off an odour like a gas leak, some say it's not true but we know from experience.
So lovely to see your mum having a fab time with you both. And AJ is quite possibly the most cutest dog ever x

My daughter loves a wrap pizza:
We spread the tomato puree on half the wrap leaving a border then add ham and cheese fold it in half using a little milk to seal and a little on top and stick it in the oven. Makes a sort of pizza wrap pasty combo. Very good.
Ahh, we had to watch this in two parts before work. Having watched the second part this morning, I note the fairy liquid trick has been employed!! 😆 It's good to share though. Hope you survived Wrexham. Safe travels. Mal, Ruth and Raffy.

Gas leaks are always a worry. We always turn the gas and water pump off when traveling just to be safe. Envying you coming into summer from down here in New Zealand. Think mum is great 👍👌

Heeeyyyyy, we live in Shrewsbury. It's always odd when you hear your home town mentioned. Quick tip, I used to be a gas fitter and I have lost count of the amount of times a cup of warm water with fairy liquid in it has helped me find a leak! Just scrap the bubbles off the soapy water and drop it on your fittings/joints. Any gas leak will create more bubbles! N.B. please don't think this was the only method I used to find leaks. I was a professional... honest!! 😂

Get a bottle fill it with soapy water and spray it on your gas fittings then turn on your gas and if you see any bubbles coming up where ever the bubbles are is where your leak is 😉

Am I the only one slightly disappointed at the lack of dogging content in this video? 😂 We've got a 2020 van and you are right the constant upgrade and repairs! Currently fitting a new bigger battery and a 5G antenna and router. I feel bad for you Lou reversing into that post, we were in Looe a few years ago and As we turned a sharp corner I as a passenger helpfully shouted "Look out for the rock!" Driver "What rock?" As we beached our van on it... The whole of Looe saw!

Louise, I think you’ve put that door handle on wrong. It should be in line with the door when not being pulled. It needs turning 90 degrees. Let Emily do the repairs in future 😂.

i would remove the rear handle that you just fitted, i would fill in the outside of the square molding with a dense silicone just to keep the moulding from cracking again. let it dry hard before refitting
Get some leak detection spray for the gas pipes & connections

Nice one ladies. About that rear door handle, normally breaks if the lock is a little stiff, it's not often things get harder with age 🤣 but the square fitting is the weak point.
A little tip for you, Fill between the square outer and the round inner with hard glue, Araldite or any resin to stop the square from breaking out.

Love it! Lots of great repairs! Fun fact: I"m not sure if it is the same in the UK, but in the US - most fire departments carry gas monitors that can detect combustible gases, including propane, LNG, gasoline and butane. They also detect methane, but that's more of a game after refried beans and rice night. :) Most 4 gas monitors are available online. Safe Travels!
I’m not sure you know, that’s good though
Instead of using tomato puree, try using Pesto. You can make your own or buy it, both are good. I thinly sliced ham with scissors, cheese, pesto, mushrooms and small pieces of pineapple. Delish.

I do these pizza wraps note if u put under grill for for 2mins then add Tom purée and toppings it comes out like a big crisp, but keep an eye on it I usually do in oven at home xx

I’ve been having pita bread pizza for years.. fav vege one is tomato paste, mushed kidney beans, capsicum, pineapple, chilli and cheese. Yum😋

Since seeing skinny pizzas months ago on your channel, we have skinny pizzas Fridays, and cook them in the ridge monkey! We found to leave for a few min makes it crisp. Low hit and don't flip

I always lol about 'skinny' pizzas, as I am gluten intolerant and for many years I have used wraps as my pizza base
I wouldn't go away without my Ridge Monkey. Our grill cooks about as fast as a sunbed in a salon so the Ridge Monkey is the tool for the job. I got the larger size and it can do a full greedy b'stard English Breakfast in 10 minutes. We also use it in the evening as well because it is perfect for steaks, chops and even chicken portions. If I'm peckish at lunchtime it's also easy to knock up a cheese and ham toastie. The washing up dept tells me that it is dead easy to clean as well.
There's not much that we can't cook with a combination of the Ridge Monkey and small pressure cooker.

A bit of washing up liquid on the gas joint if it’s leaking it will bubble
that replacement rear door handle really needs a metal insert in it to strengthen it.

Calor gas is heavier than air so it will fall to a lower position that’s why it’s so dangerous. That’s why a habitation check or a calor gas engineer check should be done at least once a year!
