Really liked this video, I built a Savage10 308 on an Oryx chasis that I'm very happy with. I just subscribed and will stay on if you keep up with this type of content. Looking forward to more uploads. Good job Chupagoats!!
Thanks, and sure, I'll keep posting.
Profile of the cartridge directly effects feeding. Was concerned at beginning about that as another channel evaluation said was a problem. Mine is in 30-06 had zero feed issue. Very much like you guys subscribed
I did adjust the magazine lips on it. Did help a little.
I've got a 7PRC from Fierce and let me tell ya - these rifle manufacturers are really hurting the 7PRC using 300Wm and 7RUM magazines just doesn't seem to feed smoothly for the 7PRC.
Good decision in selecting the one you will pick for final development. Just started with some VV N560 and seeing really good consistency, using the same spent Hornady brass and the ELD-X bullets It recorded 1.63 ES and 0.85 SD. 1842 FPS. One of the best I've seen. The real kicker is I still don't have an annealing pilot for my AMP in 7PRC nor an expanding mandrel so that was achieved with the standard Hornady dieset.
Couple things i noticed during my load development that may help you out - This 7PRC builds carbon ring fast, you really need to stay on keeping that out. Also with the primers.. I am using the Federal large rifle magnum match primers, if you ever do switch to a magnum primer keep in mind it will increase the cartridges pressure by upwards of 3K, likewise if you still see good ES and SD (ignition) from the standard primers its a good way to build a faster load before you start to see pressure signs.
Keep it up!
Thanks for tuning in. I'm using the CCI 250 o.e.m large rifle magnum primers. And yes, the magazines are a pain. I was getting 2850 to 2825 fps, both factory match ammo an hunter precision ammo.
Good stuff, I like watching video's like this. I am currently waiting on parts for a custom build and I'm a little bummed about the velocities that I see all of youtubers getting.
Factory ammo was a little too hot. I got a lot of injector marks on the brass. Thanks for watching.
Nice work!
Thanks
Seems like about 30-06 speed. 280 ai probably just as good.
Adjust the feed lips on that magazine, they are to narrow!! Widen them to raise the cartridge so the bolt will pick up the round!
Thanks for the advice.
What length barrel? Speeds seem 200fps lower than Retumbo listed speeds at that 66.5gn
It's a 22-inch barrel, and I noticed that as well.
