There are movies that have monsters turning into ashes or pulp or the like at some point. This also is just a (well made) movie.......
If the monster costume was a little bit better done this short film would be PERFECT. Aside from that this short film is amazingly filmed and very scary, all in only 5 minutes! I loved this one!

I'm saying if the monster costume was a bit scarier this would be something so well made I could see it winning tons of awards or something of the like :) That being said it's already worthy of awards as it is. I've watched tons of horror short films on Netflix and this is one of my absolute favorites out of them all

One improvement I can suggest: after a few rounds of back-and-forth, lights-on-lights-off, the monster PRETENDS to clap its hands; the house-sitter claps without thinking, turning off the lights himself by mistake, and THEN we get the scream and nom-nom-nom sound effects.

I thought, it would have been better that after the first time the monster clapped, the clapping wouldnt work for the human, only monster would play with its prey by clapping to turn it off and on

That sequence of the guy sliding towards the door as the monster pursued him continuously clapping was actually really disturbing. I know everyone else is saying that is was funny but it actually genuinely creeped me out. Well done.

OK so I'm gonna be very honest. This did struck the right chord of anxiety and anticipation because it was not about the look of the demon but the uncertainty of what would happen when the lights would be off. Scary images were running wild about the possibilities. The end was amazing actually because all this while we were kept in a false hope that if the lights were on this creature wouldn't hurt and when that notion was thrown out of the window in the climax, fear had sparked.

The slow raise of the creature's hands before its initial clap is so terrifyingly executed because it shows that it is not merely "beast" but also has cognitive reasoning. It is at this moment that the lead must realise how much trouble he is in.

You know how he is using his hands to move away from the monster while dragging himself on the ground, and also has to use his hands to clap to turn the lights on
Hence he cannot move while turning the lights on

Well, hang on there, Utara. Let's talk cause and effect here. The dumbass pulled a hamstring in lieu of shitting his britches. And that happened because he isn't conditioned for rapid actions like getting away quickly from chasers such as defensive tackles, neighborhood bullies and monsters. The problem here is that he wasn't physically fit for the job at hand. Had he been able to jolt and bolt then he wouldn't have gone down being subjected to decide whether to clap or crawl. There. I analyzed it fully. This was a job qualifications issue.

I used to work in a costume shop. I sold that ratty ass wig a million times and since the Clapper Demon had no face at first I focused on the wig and kept laughing - So I damn near died during the "Clap War" it managed to be creepy yet hilarious somehow. Excellent short!

The monster looked like a theater student who went into the costume room and came out with black clothes and the most granny looking wig ever, but besides that this short was amazing. I loved the horror portion, but mostly I enjoyed the happiness of the lead when he clap clapped the kitchen lights on and off. I liked that so much because I would be the same kind of childish idiot :D

This is why everyone switched to smart hubs. If the monster can't say "Hey Google, turn off the lights" and get the damn thing to actually understand and execute the command, then you're safe.
