About this game:
Split or Steal is a light re-imagining of the Game Theory concept of The Prisoner's Dilemma.
Two players will be selected from a pool of online users, and are presented with a potential reward. The players are given a maximum of 2 minutes to speak with eachother - at which point, they can then choose to either share, or attempt to steal the reward. - Hry

I just want to take a quick moment to point out how.. absolutely overwhelming it is to go from releasing a simple game I built to distract myself from a tough period of my life, to seeing it hit #1 on Steam, and get streamed by someone as huge as you.
Sorry about getting hit with offensive names in the queue - it's been extremely hard to keep up with everything since the launch, but I'm trying to get on top of it. I still work a full-time job - and it's paying the bills, so I've gotta be an adult and prioritise it :'D . But equally, it was a very surreal feeling to sit down at my desk this morning at 9am, and have my phone exploding with dozens of Discord messages every other minute. This is taking a lot of getting used to.

You can tell he almost started to convince himself that those people he stole from had inappropriate usernames by the end of the video
I have been on the force for 37 years and this is the typical behavious of a psychopath. he makes himself believe his lies to comfort the rest of humanity left in him. but it is plain to see that most of his humour is just an act to cover up the bottomles pit of hatred and greed that is his soul.

This was so fun to watch. Would love to see Dan social engineer his way to the top.
That game has a clear meta, you always split, otherwise they will never split with you again, and once you steal from a lot of people, you wont make it past tier 5.
And High Stakes is only anonymous during the round, you can check who you played with afterwards. So if you steal on tiers 8, 9 or 10 thinking you are safely hidden, you are not.

Excuse me sir, Rob's game theory is to always steal. If the enemy knows you will always steal, your nash equilibrium goes to zero. The trick is to only steal when they think you're a lock to split.
@@Northernlion That isn't his strategy though. That's just what he's told you he will always choose in the end. In an actual situation against a stranger, he can fully intend to steal while doing exactly what you did ie. convince the other person to split.
Now, in this game, Rob's plan would probably be less effective because of the Karma system outing him as a thief, but otherwise, he's not wrong.
