Legbreaker is a game-jam puzzle platformer where the trick is that you can only jump twice on any given level before your legs break...which sometimes can be to your benefit. Check it out, and thanks to @epic_brew for tipping me off to the game.

All i wanted was for him to figure out that springs only work once, and he did, i am proud of him.
I read your comment before he got to the spring level, and it made me think he quietly figured it out over the first couple levels they appeared...
Boy was I wrong. For the amount of tries it took him to even question they only work once, he may as well have not figured it out
It dramatically bothered me
The springs don't work once. The reason they didn't work sometimes was because he used both jumps, causing him to take up two spaces and hit the spikes.
@@Lysmick_ no stupid, they work once.
Willow Scott dum dum they clearly work once
Hey! If you like the video make sure to subscribe! I check out a bunch of brand new games like this every week and would love to have you stick around!
came from tweeter love u egg
Big brain play right here.
blessed by the algorithm 🙏
would recommend to my friends and family

NL: It's all misdirection.
Proceeds to get lost in the misdirection and make the last level as hard as he can.
How are you supposed to do it though
@@snailzillascreator i assume you jump to the pillar on the right, fall on the spring, and land on button. then you jump to the left pillar, spring to original button, and spring to exit. idk if you can jump from right button to left pillar though.
@@litapd311 you could also fall onto the springs and hit the right side button the way he was in the video and than just jump back ontop the 2 pillars as started to do at 19:00 and than just never fully tried
I think you only have to hit one button my dudes.
Vinicius Alves the door has dots indicating the buttons needed, this door was 2
NL’s attempts at the last level view like one of those God-awful mobile phone ads where they keep drenching the hero in lava. You know the ones.
lmao
Why do those even exist
@@Ivy-ir7jw the reason is money
Guess he didn't notice the springs only have 1 use after dying 10 times. Oh well.
"I've tried the same thing 8 times and I'm all out of ideas"
TBH I cant even fathom how that could come out of someones mouth u try the same thing 8 times and ur out of ideas u tried the same thing 8 TIMES
Emmanuel Ababio sometimes you’re just too desperate that you have to try something 8 times-
Definition of insanity
It's funny how video games do that to you. I often said the same thing when I first started playing Portal
REALLY explains the 'speed reader' comment
I love how with puzzles instead of going with, "My plan didn't work so I should make a new plan." NL's brain goes "My plan didn't work so how am I going to get my plan to work?"
It's a great mindset except for puzzles where there's a clear intended way to do things.
I loved his 'must have missed that spring a pixel, try again' mentality...
100 attempts later, I'm annoyed he can't comprehend
Defenition of insanity
@@MelodicTurtleMetal Exactly. I figured out the springs only work once bit early on, so it was really frustrating that he kept trying to bounce on the springs again and again, not realizing they only work once until the very end.
It's still works in a lot of puzzle games where the original idea you had was the solution but somehow it didn't work.
So, you play as Midoriya right after he got one for all...
That's exactly what I thought.
my thoughts exactly
Ouch
Exactly what I thought
shut up
"You thought i was a fool, im not a fool"
Proceeds to get fooled
Egg tries to jump on used springs for 5min.
but he does realise that they are one use only
to be fair, the visual change isn't that clear that you could only use it once :'D
@@franham very true, so you're forgiven for trying 2 or 3 times...
NL treated them like a known programming bug that required 100 attempts to work
@@MelodicTurtleMetal which is understandable for a game jam game
I gotta ask, out of impatience, does he never notice
a) That there are lights on the doors indicating how many buttons if any, need to be pressed and
b) that you are breaking your leg by jumping, not landing
Not even I noticed the a) so...
Cael M I was reading a lot of other comments and that seems to be a commonly missed item.
I picked up on it really early because I like the little door animation so much, but it seems like that’s the minority.
Well for those curious to know.
No he does not, but I have to admit, the new egg is trying
Im pretty sure he does realize the indicators on the doors.
@@DanksterPaws then why does he try to hit all the buttons while 1 is sufficient??

Old NL: There is no way to do this level with just two jumps!
New NL: This is easy.
Hit the irl pog, he's growing up
18:00 NL: Let's just try the exact same thing over and over again and maybe it will eventually work.

Yess i was looking for this comment
“Spikes? I get the picture.”*rams head directly into ceiling*
I love when one leg breaks the character drags it along, the animation work is great
I thought he'd never figure the bounce pads only work once.
One year in the future and this is still agonizing for me. I'm at 19:56 and he hasn't figured it out yet.
Jesus, 21:23 and he finally gets it.
Wow, pre-baby NL has such a younger energy for some reason
Just adding fuel to the algorithm. Don't mind me.
Thanks for the shoutout! This was a great one to play through.
Epic Brew cool game!
Its interesting that nl watches your content
oh I see where NL got his ideas for his thumbnails now
@@indeimaus You'd have to ask him.
Indeimaus HA! Looked at their channel and I thought I was on the Eggs.
I'm loving this series so far, so many nifty games I probably would have never seen without it.
"You thought I was fool. I am NOT a fool...Actually I'm really dumb."
I can't believe it took you that long to realize the bouncers indeed only bounce once...
Im not trying to be a shithead, i mean that. i thought this connection would be missed. but im so glad to hear- HE JUST LEARNED IT WHILE I WAS TYPING, LETS GO.
@@777tavarius I saw that they changed their texture after being used once. I was 99% sure he wasn't gonna realize at all cause it's such a subtle change but was very relieved when he did. Even if it was through trial and error and not actually realizing the spring looks different after using it
I picked up the phone to write an angry comment about this, also at the same time he learned about it. Viewer frustration got very real.
All Might: "Young Midoriya there are other ways to win without breaking your legs"
Yo dude, wtf man. My screen...
lol
i cant arrow key
I can always tell when you're in a comment section, because your name stops me from using the mouse wheel click to scroll, even when you aren't on the screen.
8:27 and this right here is how I know NL has not yet played "The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories".
i thought the same thing! i kind of adore that game
It is so satisfying when he figures out the way to solve the level at the same time I do. Every time. Thumbs up for that.
one for all 100%
Watching this video made me know of this existence, and now I’m downloading it, thank you!
3 minutes in puzzle with spring “Can you only jump on springs once?” *face palm*
Well to be fair there is nothing to visually indicate that anything changes about a spring once it's used. Why would he naturally assume it's a one-time use? Any other games you know do that with springs? Do springs in real life do that?
My bad, there is a difference of a few pixels. The color selection is so drab and monochrome, really doesn't help show the player something that's kinda important.
@@iforce2d But you can also just work it out by trying the same spring twice. I've noticed before but NL really has no faith in indie devs. When something he tries doesn't work he always assumes it's the game being janky rather than his method being janky.
I think it's moreso that there are certain people who just seem to have no sense of event permanence. I have friends who I say something to, then a few seconds later ask them a question about what I just said and they ask me "about what?" One something has happened they lose all ability to reference that past event in relation to current events. NL just seems to have no ability to connect previous attempts to jump on things with successive attempts. Every new attempt to do something is an isolated event to him.
@@TyrannisUmbra Feels bad I have game event permanence but honestly my conversation event permanence is totally shot like your friends
Anyways he did figure it out eventually at least, albeit never did anything with that knowledge
Wait this wasn't one week old? But one year old. Sheeesh
Was watching Kuukiyomi and Isaac vids from NL yesterday and this morning. This video was in my recommendations, lets go!
Ironically this is the least painful to watch "NL Tries" puzzle game so far
Snakebird level 14....
We were so close to greatness if it was not for that last one puzzle.
I disagree.. a quick glance of the level tells you what you need - NL uses a bizarre trial and error approach, where he repeats the same trial and error until he's convinced the game itself isn't at error for his method not working... Not sure what happens next, because he just terminated the stream without trying a different approach
Just found your channel because of the algorithm... you should totally try this game out it’s called The Binding of Isaac. It’s pretty cool, I think you’ll like it.
I feel left out not having been recommended this :'(
That just complete 180 in confidence at 2:40 left me laughing harder than I should've.
Him: OK I GOT IT NOW
Me: im 4 parallel universes ahead of you
Hmmm... I need to crawl through this gap. Better break both my legs so I'm forced to crawl!
I can't believe how ahead of its time the GameBoy was.
The Sporcle video is actually such a good ad for older videos that I missed
This game reminds me of Time Fcuk a game from Newgrounds made by Mr. McMillen
So the main character is Deku?
bruh, I was literally watching a video about this yesterday and the whole time I was thinking "this would be great for northerlion tries"
I bet you love bondage too
Love the I Think You Should Leave Reference. Fav skit right there
To those that haven't figured it out.
You drop to the first (left) spring and land directly on the second pillar. You drop to the button and then jump to the second (right) spring landing on the first pillar. Then jump on the button. Crawl to victory.
u aint lyin nl, the numbers do be poggin
I'm commenting to keep this video pogging in CZcams recommendations.
Thanks for the company.
It's like Deku discovering kicks on My Hero
5:43
When you save some Beskar Steel for the foundlings
Loll l love how he kept trying to jump on the used springs
NL literally never realizing that springs can only be used once hurt my soul
Except he does? Like literally the last thing that happens in the video is him saying exactly that.
Also NL not noticing the red lights on the doors indicating the number of switches that must be pressed.
Whaou ! Fantastic game. I'm happy i discovered your channel.
Ahh, typical Egg-fashioned ending- I love it! Whats an NL video without him noticing things until the very end? Good shit.
Pogged af for this videos weird performance spike
Thanks for the video NL
Thanks for the great content nl
"the fall becomes less precise because of your mangled leg"
Talk about attention to detail, wow.
I think I remember seeing this when it was in the game jam but I don't remember where I saw it considering I don't really follow game jams
Seems like a really cool game!
I'm just here to pump it up iykyk
that last puzzle was snakebird 14 all over again, except without the satisfaction and relief
OMG! They have done it, they made a puzzle game with few enough possibilities that even NL can complete the levels :O
2:30 ''You though i was a fool.. im not a fool'' .. ''Ok im actually very dumb''.
not realizing the springs worked once was so aggravating. Missing what's right there sometimes. does look like a nice puzzle game
You should all seriously subscribe to this lad. I have genuinely been a subscriber for over 7 years, and watch 2-3hours of him every day.
It's sort of a prototypical The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories. Neat!
the I Think You Should Leave reference killed mee
Figuring out game mechanics on the fly like a champ, got stuck on a level that I can't figure out just from watching, the new egg era is great. 👌
Sarcasm?
This is prime NL content. Keep it up egg lord
I was screaming YOU CAN ONLY USE A SPRING ONCE for like 5 mins
Great video!
9:17 Just jump once as soon as you enter. Smooth brain.
Is this an Awesome Pea 2?

This comment is very engaging 🤔
I engage with your engagement
the last one is actually easy. you don't need the spring back for the last button, just jump from 2nd platform.
spring only one way to the right. after last jump you can crawl to the door
> Need to check if one button is enough to proceed.
> I can see through misdirection.
Spawns next to a button and a door.
Gets stuck.
17:55 “just because you see a button doesn’t mean you have to press it” 18:02 “okay so we have to press two buttons” NL come on my guy you literally said it 7 seconds ago. Just look at the door open after your press one button
tbf you do need to press two buttons for that level
Wow, that‘s an amazing game!
I’m just watching this for the first time now, but the jump distance is five tiles if you measure that out you know where to jump so you won’t hit the spikes. And yes the lights indicate how many platforms you need to land on to open the door.
Only true fans will remember that NL also used the "break your own legs" tactic in Tarkov as well.
What an agonizing existence for our pixelated hero.
Yo, Northernlion Tries is just an Indie Impressions rebrand.
the i think you should leave reference is great
Now for a similar yet incredibly more frustrating experience, NL please play Jump King.
He did on - I think - a Tuesday stream a while ago.
Oh well, Midoriya, you're doing great training your new powers!
Of course this was on the radar
"Me finishes the whole level"
Seeing this video:
*visible pain*
just watching this so it gets out of my recommended :)
Here to pog up the algorithm
pannenkoek laughs in the distance. "i can do it in half a jump"
so for the level he stopped at, do you have to skip the 1st spring, using the 2nd one only so that you can use it on the way back?
That is some cool Gameboy aesthetic. :)
Imagine jumping so high ur legs break
Better title: Northernlion ignores the lights on the exit door for 24 minutes
Northenlion: they do only work once...
Me: OH FINALLY!!
This is one of the funniest videos I’ve seen for quite a while! I love how NL galaxy brains his way through, making everything take three times longer than it should. :D
my gut wants to say this was early In NL learning the art of thumbnails
I would love this on the Gameboy
This should be used as a case study for dementia.
NL's brain is smooth as his head.
You were supposed to use the first spring and not land on the second, then fall onto the button. Use one jump to fall onto the second spring allowing you to get on the pillar in the middle, then use your second jump to land on the second button, then crawl across the gap.
So frustrating watching this guy play the game lmao
