  • Fuzz Caan (UK Athletics) gives a progressive step by step guide to how to develop your high jump training. Athletes are instructed on basic postural and running skills, first of all on a straight line and then in a curve, gradually building up specific jumping strength and endurance.
The lecture was part of Athletics Ireland's Coaching Mentoring program.

This is a REALLY great breakdown of the high jump progression. During the U-bend, are all of your athletes aiming for one particular mark for takeoff? Also, how are you measuring the turn radius to avoid too much torque on the ankle?

What about minimum body's height that should forget this sport as an athlete?

    • @rainercullinan1007

You should never limit yourself due to height. Even if you might not be the best, you can still get really good if you work at it, even if you are short. You should do it for the love of the sport, not just to win. It’s an amazingly rewarding sport
