- This is 4.5 months of my track season in 9 minutes! Regret, Injury, Healing, and brain growth. I love track and field.
Also I keep saying ' injured 8 months' but it was more like 7 months around Feb. Small details.
I will workout how to post here again regularly. Jumping content coming June that much is for sure. - Sport
Finally, you posted brother❤. I've been waiting for your video for a long time. Even watched some of them again😅. I'm really happy for you comeback ❤❤.
Keep up the vids mate, inspiring
Great to see you're back on track (ha) brother! I've been watching for a long time, and you're a big inspiration to me as someone who's starting their T&F journey later than most, and wanting to become pretty decent at it. Just moved to Dunners to study myself, and the Caledonian is becoming a bit of a second home. Best of luck for the rest of the season!
P.S. Main channel is going to the moon, I know it. It's honestly the most entertaining T&F channel by far, and I'm not just saying that because you're a Kiwi haha
Thats amazing to hear! I loved dunedin so much, i literally only moved away because i really dont like cold.
I appreciate the comment man, all of it haha. What events do you do? And the cale and community there are fantastic.
@@matehj Oh man, the weather is kicking my ass already and it's not even Winter yet. I come from Kapiti which is ~30 minutes outside Wellington, and just so much warmer haha. Really makes you appreciate being able to feel your extremities.
Long distance running is my thing, 5k-10k type stuff, but the 1500m has captured my heart recently. Just did the Lovelock Relays today and what a buzz that was. Definitely see what you mean about the community, been here two weeks and the vibe is just so good.
It can be hard to find people who take alternative routes to the top in T&F because the path is so defined when you start in high school. But the only reason we don't see more elite athletes who started later is because you've got to really dedicate yourself to it, be consistent, and put in the work. That's hard to do when you're older, but it's definitely possible. I'll keep an eye out for you next Nationals. Podium finish?
Loving it bro
This was some inspiring stuff brother, glad to see you’re feeling good and ended on a high note!
Ill Never take pain free for granted again hahaha
!!!! rest up brother
Fuckin oath Mate. Very glad to see ya postin on this channel again, and especially that you're healthy enough to clear some high bars. In other news, I've got a new coach - Swedish Olympic Champion Stefan Holm! Probs better to stay in Sweden rather than moving to AUS now haha
Holy shit dude thats incredible bro! You gotta leak me some training details HAHAHA. Super keen to see how you progress now.
Great to see you posting again, and great job ending your season well. Last week I jumped 6ft (~183cm), and it’s midway through my third season of track and field. I’ve had a case of jumper’s knee since early February, but championship season is coming up soon. I often place well in meets, and I want to score some points for my team. My knee only gets aggravated when I jump a lot, and doing rehab and time off usually helps. It’s lingering, but not too bad. So two separate questions for you, should I keep jumping into championship season while continuing rehab? And how should I keep improving in HJ over the summer and fall when I don’t have access to a pit?
Im not sure how much you jump, but i was able to continue to imrpove only training track 2 days a week, and rehab work in between. One track day was competition and the other was an short runup technical ez jump day and maybe some sprints if i could handle it.
So low vol if ur knee is really nagging you. In the off-season take a few weeks off to get the body feeling good again atleast, and slowly work into it again. If you dont got access to hj, work on running form and speed is my best advice. Even playing another sport. Just keep fit, active and jump occasionally when you get the chance to stay ready to hop into the next season :). Hope this helps!
Finally
Bro I have the same thing. I am a high jumper that has had nagging achilles pain in my jump foot for over a year. I picked up pole vault this year and found it hurts much less than high jump. How did you heal your ankle though?
Rehab at low intensities, and doing the absolute bare minimum training so it would continue to get better. Took me way to long to accept and get to that stage tho. Was jumping once a week, only at comps for most of the season, and gyming/grass running in between.
Again tho, not like i particularly did it well haha.
@matehj ah. Its so hard to minimize practice though, especially when you're learning something new and so technique heavy as pole vault. Guess I gotta hold out until summer haha
I have a question the high jump under armour hovr skyline are better than the nike high jump elite? Or wich is better
