Warren, there will always be "critics" (also known as arm chair quarterbacks) who will be full of commentary about topics to which they know nothing about. The rest of us tune in to see what your up to, and what your doing in the "real world"** (**not to be confused with reality t.v.). We enjoy the stories, the big steaks you can't finish, the discoveries and the boo boos. If you had a credits page roll after your videos it would just be one name on all the positions that make your videos possible, you. Keep up the good work, thanks for taking the time to share what you can with us, we do appreciate every shot you share. Stay safe, clearly your staying fed (steak you couldn't finish), and we will be here ready, butts in chairs, coffees and or adult beverages in hand ready to watch.. Cheers! and Thanks!

Warren’s content is legit-he shows what really happens in the field. I have fond memories of working with mechanics around the Austin, Texas, area during the mid ‘80s. I worked for a small dealer of John Deere equipment. I thoroughly enjoyed my job because one part of my responsibility involved testing equipment after the mechanics had repaired whatever was broken- it was a super-fun job for a young feller.

Warren: CHANGE THOSE AIR COMPRESSORS! Sorry for shouting, but I have seen air compressors on CAT C-13 Acerts give out and ruin the whole gear train on the front of the engine, and put metal into the pan which gets picked up in the oil pump and ruins it too.
What happened is that the bearing at the rear of the air compressor gave out, and let the air compressor crankshaft rock around, ruining the drive gear on the front of the compressor, and then the gear that meshed with, and so on through the whole gear train. Through all this, the compressor continued to build air, so the drivers had no warning that the compressor was bad until the compressor crankshaft beat its way through the compressor housing and and let the engine oil spill out.
CAT gave warranties of 800,000 miles on those engines, but the warranty on the air compressors was limited to 500,000 miles. On both trucks (2008 Peterbilts) that I saw had this problem, both had just over 500,000 miles, and the original compressors on them. So CAT was not fooling when they limited the warranty on their compressors.
Air compressors are much cheaper and easier to change than the gear train on the front of the engine! CHANGING AIR COMPRESSORS BEFORE THEY BREAK DOWN SHOULD BE A REGULAR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE OPERATION.
Putting a used compressor on an engine is taking a risk of it breaking down and taking out the gear train on the front of the engine (again).
I really like your videos, and look forward to them. Have a great weekend.

Sure i've said it before but there's nothing wrong with the quality of videos you put up. OK fine, sometimes there's dirt/oil or water on the camera, sometimes it'd be in the way if you got the "best angle" and the sound level isn't always high enough (that's more an issue with my laptop not going loud enough though) but damn, you're doing a job of work here & taking us along with you to watch (not even to help, and sometimes probably get in the way and hinder you slightly) so what more could anyone expect for a one-man outfit? The reason most of us are here is because we enjoy your commentary and take on life, the straight talking and integrity is inspirational to watch & i'd like to think you set an example for younger generations interested in getting into this line of work. Not to mention learning a little about machinery and plant that some of us have never seen or heard of before, the variety of equipment you get to work on is really cool too. Anyway got to go out now, just wanted to retread ground that's been well trodden before & make sure you know you're appreciated by your subscribers as well as your customers.

Something I noticed was when you were taking the compressor discharge line off there was still air pressure on it and it kept leaking air for a while after it was taken off. That means there's not a check valve on the air tank where the compressor line is attached, I wonder if that has something to do with why the compressors are failing and over heating? Not letting that air dump off with the air dryer would keep constant pressure on the valves in the compressor. Not entirely sure if it has anything to do with it but just throwing that out there.

Warren, you are running that body hard. If there is so much money in those fields, I think you should be charging more for your work: they are paying for your knowledge and your labour. You shouldn’t be wondering if you making a profit or not, and you should be getting more than 6 hours sleep, no? I ran my body hard, and I can tell you there is a lot of pain after 70! Just saying out of respect.
