We installed our first cable railing system and it was super easy. I would say DIY friendly and I would hate to have to have ran every cable individually! Barrette Outdoor has a great system! I would recommend to other clients for sure.
I would use this product again.

"What do you guys think? I don't care what you guys think" - Kyle. Lol.
he knows he made the right choice😂
That is an awesome look.
Kids love to climb, and it makes a perfect ladder for them.
If only every builder was as meticulous as you. Nicely done.
I like it you guys did a great job just by looking at pictures GREG that's funny 🤣🤣🤣
You’ve got a camera man now?! Sweet!! Love seeing you grow!
Looking away is for safety, but is also a flex!
I like the one rail cable idea you finished with. Itwas the common sense approach. The cable rail project creates or finishes off the space in a very nice way, is a safety feature and is quick to install.
I was a bit doubtful of how sturdy it would be, but when I saw how the cables locked into the posts and tightened up, I think it’s a nice look and definitely safer than I expected after watching you assemble it!
The rail looks fantastic and the installation example was superb! Thanks for sharing!
Cut off wheel in a grinder or cable cutters
We use stainless steel washers as shims to plumb the posts
What a rad building. That would be a killer shop for almost any trade!
I would never go in the house again.
Kyle - “You ain’t cutting that cable with snips!”
Greg - *rolls his eyes* “Hold my beer!”
We know you care we can tell by the quality of your work!! Looks awesome!!
It looks awesome. Great video always wondered how you do one of them rails. Keep your videos common they’re the best.
It looks Amazing Kyle,
Sincerely, the old Montana cowboy,
Frank Scberping
I really like the idea behind that cable rail system you guys used.
The no look cut got me! hahaha!!!
Bot that looks amazing as usual, I may have to look into getting this product for my shop. We just got the walls and truss up last week. Take care and don't work to hard guys!
Looks great guys!
Well done Kyle & Greg. 😁👍🏼😁👍🏼
“Don’t use your hand” reaches over and smacks it too
21:00 😂 Classic Kyle.
You should make a video about how you met Greg and Zach.
I’m about to do my second. I use cable bullet. They are fantastic!
Very sharp look and easy install vs what I thought.
Damn that black ceiling really does darken the space.
Very helpful, installing this exact system this weekend!
The black adonised posts and top rails look really sharp against the light background, while the stainless steel wire seems to disappear when you are a short distance away.
Another superb job.
LMAOOOOO “I just don’t look at the blade. That way I know it’s not going to hit me in the eye” 🫣
Who was in the wheelchair?
Rails look great.
God bless you guys.
Looks great!
Excellent job - eye protection is mandatory when using any saw or power tools
Nice Railing!
I like it!
Looks great
It's awesome
I love cabe railing looks nice.
The way Kyle is walking that close to the edge the kneels down to mark. Knowing my clumsiness I’d lose my balance and fall right over the edge. Kyle is a brave man lol
Cable rail is a great finishing design touch. Did you mention cost? Sheepishly - I skipped a fair bit of the video because the job is repetitive and simple but time consuming, which is not a slant against your video. I think others will find it very interesting. Thanks for posting this.
Knipex allways in the belt
I like the off set for a little extra walk-thru space on the end rail. The only issue there could be is if it's some kind of code violation???
I thought about the code as well. I don't think that would fly in my state. Its a good idea and if i were installing myself would probably do the same thing.
Awesome
Get you some kaNipX snips and it’ll sail right through that cable.
Absolutely the best pliers, snips, etc.
Those lags are 5/16 x 3”1/8 Construction Screws we sent you!
I know you don't care but I like the way you did the post near the top stair. 😄
Supernice
Not that I care, but it looks awesome!
Here in Michigan code states where the corner post has to be mounted
Of course the extra cable might be to someone's advantage if they need to forklift something up there, a section can be taken out and reinstalled , or if it bothers you the next tine youre there, one of your guys can...
Does the Mezz guard meet your local code?
Looks good! What does the client plan on doing with the flooring up there or leaving as is for now?
I might add having priced those for customers then hv them run after telling them labor and materials as opposed to wood? Big difference! I would say you have $5500-6 G’s in material there?
Instant "like" button.
I didn't see any lights up top of the mezzanine and if not, then the client should have had them installed for safety purposes. Other than that, everything look great!
Классная система!
Just did the same railing today
Sweet 💪💪
Greg, Greg, don’t use your hand man…😂 That’s what she said
The only thing I can add is that there are codes. If I remember correctly the top post of a stair can't be more than one tread run from the top. In other words...no more than one tread exposed at the top, which is about 10 or 11 inches. Otherwise a great idea!
Noticed you and Greg are wearing the same [new] shoes in the last couple of videos. Perhaps I missed it in a previous video, but can you share who makes them? They look cool and comfortable.
This guy is the real deal, I have been an ac contractor for over 35 years, I’ve installed thousands of jobs and worked with many contractors. Mexicans have taken over the construction industry and they don’t come anywhere close to building , like this guy. I’m sure some of them will catch up in the future. What I like about him is he actually works and invents new ways of accomplishing his jobs on a daily basis. You can only do this for so long and he’ll become to old . Keep up the good work get paid for your experience and invest wisely. You’ll be glad you did when you just can’t do what you love anymore. That day is coming. I was superman for many years but now I’m not. It’s okay I have a super model wife and that makes up for a lot. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How do you determine the distance of the rails on the Construction calculator? That seemed pretty cool, because you were just getting the next measurement to mark so fast. ?!?!?!
The problem I have ran across with those are that the cables start to sag over time. You come back to re tighten everything, and they will just start to sag again.
Kyle, would you do a video on all your opinions on different doors large and small, along with openers?
Ok, great vid as usual. But why is there no floor covering?
I Like the cable rail. Though, I am dubious about the floor flange size, fastener spacing and the lag screws. But I guess they won't be doing any cage fighting up there, so it's probably fine.
Looks brilliant an amazing building except for the lighting looks a bit spotty ?
Did you know that this was the system you were going to use? So you could add structure for the screws to grab into? Can you vary the distance between intermediate posts? How much per foot was the cost?
Salam dari indonesia❤
I love the cable rail system im thinking of doing it with my mezzanine. Can you tell us what were the cost associated with the the railing system ?
Wait…. When did Greg get a Martinez square? Did he steal Cole’s
This is an old project, I think he’s done a wire staircase a while back as well
Aren't those horizontal cables a safety issue for children climbing them?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Let me know what you think, I dont care what you think. LMAO. You rock.
Hey kyle wondering if you are looking into the max control by bobcat?
👍
I do think it looks super cool but i also think kids could see it as a climbing frame with the horizontal cables but maybe thats just me
I am thinking the same. Might be an issue with code/safety ……. And not wanting to get your ass sued off when a kid takes a header off the mezzanine. Otherwise, very nice railing.
Nice job. I went to the website and the directions call out a mid-support post in between the main posts. Is this not required or optional?
The last rail by the stairs should guard the step, if you have an obstruction or vision issue placement would be dangerous?
i have it on good authority you don't care what i think (26:15) JK!!! as always great job love your videos
Is this a repeat?
"sight glass"?
Yo, what are those blue shoes you're wearing?
I was always taught that you can’t have a horizontal rails, they had to be vertical so kids couldn’t climb up and over. Is that true?
That was the original intention, but studies have shown it doesn't actually effect kids safety so code has been changed to just spacing requirements
@@SHKEKEKE thanks, I’ve seen several videos of railings done this way. I thought the rules had changed.
Do professional shops have to be kid friendly when kids aren't supposed to be in there?
Gotta cost a fortune
What is the grade of cement?
Not chance u wld come to tiskilwa il help me lay out a 40x60
I wear eye protection when I mow the lawn. All it takes is a stray whatever.
How about them lags...
@ 20:18 Greg Greg Greg don't use your hand . Let me .
Did your Facebook get hacked? Lots of weird short videos being posted on there. FYI.
Whispering to the camera. I don't care...lol!
Very clean looking. Greg I guess you have never been to the ER with metal in your eye. Hope you never do.
Why are you unboxing upstairs?
Easier to move up there in box
First !
❌Didn’t you already post this video a few months ago ??❌
No?
I thought the same thing but it looks like they only made a short clip from this video.
@@RRBuildings that’s crazy, I’m 100 percent sure I’ve already watched this video.
@@jckeddy maybe that’s what I’m thinking of .
@@Californians_go_homeNo, I think he did another railing on a mezzanine on a different job.
I wonder if that “use a drill not an impact” guy thinks he knows better than these guys.
Eye protection overrated? Seriously dudes. I've been in and around the machining industry for close to 40 years. The number of times I have been, and have seen others, saved by wearing a pair of safety glasses is beyond belief. Take the few seconds and put them on. Get the foam trimmed type to avoid sweat running down your glasses and steaming up.
Saftey sally in the house and doesn’t know what construction crew humor sounds like. 🙄
Get outside and work with some MEN once or twice.
Ok@@thefreedomwarrior Without skilled machinists there are no powertools for you to work with. Done plenty on construction inside and out. The extra few seconds it takes to put on safety glasses doesn't affect efficiency. I will send you a pick pair, or do you prefer purple?
Naw don't read anything just look at pics 😂
