AMT 2021 Dodge Charger Police Pursuit Hemi Squad Car California Highway Patrol 1:25 Scale Model Kit AMT1324 1324
Featuring ALL-NEW tooling, AMT’s 2021 Dodge Charger Pursuit kit has been created with cutting-edge technology. It’s packed with enough detail to satisfy even the most seasoned model builder!
This 2021 Dodge Charger Pursuit Police Car model kit is packed with features including a 5.7L V8 HEMI engine, two light bar options, deck lights, spotlights, push bar, and police wheels. Police options continue with a detailed interior featuring a radio console, laptop computer with mounting bracket, and rear seating partition. Lastly, the California Highway Patrol decals make this Charger one intimidating interceptor.
    Features:
1:25 scale, skill level 2, paint & glue required
    175 parts
Molded in white, clear, transparent red, and some chrome-plated parts
    Black vinyl tires
    Built size: 8.25 inches long
The Dodge Charger is a model of automobile marketed by Dodge in various forms over eight generations since 1966.
The first Charger was a show car in 1964.[1][2] A 1965 Charger II concept car resembled the 1966 production version.[3]
In the United States, the Charger nameplate has been used on intermediate-sized muscle cars and personal luxury coupes, as well as on subcompact hatchbacks. The latest Charger was a full-size four-door sedan.
Except for Charger Pursuit (through 2020), all models came standard with the eight-speed automatic transmission. In December 2014, the AWD Charger Pursuit appeared, and the V8 R/T AWD model disappeared. Sales of the AWD Pursuit increased.
For 2020, the Charger Hellcat comes standard with the "widebody" to accommodate an improved tire/suspension package. Dodge also added a new trim for 2020 called the SRT Hellcat Redeye. The Hellcat Redeye comes standard with the 797 hp (594 kW; 808 PS) V8 engine.[16] The 2020 Charger Pursuit was only available in the RWD V6 and AWD V8 models. Beginning in 2021, the roles reversed, with the V6 Pursuit now equipped with AWD and the 850RE 8-spd auto. The V8 Pursuit was RWD with the 8HP70. In 2022, several police models were dropped, including the V8-RWD Charger Pursuit, the V6-AWD Durango Pursuit, and both Durango SSV models. That leaves police with the V6-AWD Charger and V8-AWD Durango Pursuit models, and 4×4 1500/2500/3500 Ram SSV models, through 2023.
In 2022, the Street and Racing Technology team produced the "Jailbreak Edition", based on the 2020 Hellcat Redeye Widebody. SRT added ten extra horsepower from the stock Hellcat Redeye, which totals 807. The idea behind it was for the user to be able to customize the Charger through the factory as if there was a "Jailbreak". The interior offers different options for the floor mats, the color of the leather seats, logos, sound system, and headliner.[17] The exterior of the Charger has the options to add racing stripes to differ from the Challenger. Users have the option of changing the color of the car, brake calipers, wheels, badges, exhaust tips, and an option of adding the SRT spoiler.[18]
In January 2022, Dodge announced that the Hemi V8 Charger (5.7L, 6.4L, and 6.2L) would be retired at the end of the 2023 model year.

Cop paint job. Cop lights. Cop bumper. Cop interior. Cop chassis. Cop engine. Even cop caps on the wheels. I'm gunna guess its a cop car.
    What a build - bonus - mistakes fixed - a learning moment.
Thanks for the fine work, Chris (and a thank you to the Blues Brothers too).

I want to point out the Pursuit Chargers with the two wheel options shown were for the All Wheel Drive models, the black steel wheels with the round holes are the Hemi AWD Chargers and the other wheel with spokes was used on the V-6 AWD Chargers, Rear Wheel Drive Chargers had the steel 5 spoked wheels
V-6 Pursuit Chargers were only available with AWD and had a Governed Speed of 140 MPH
V-8 Chargers were available both Rear Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive and had a Governed Speed of 160 MPH

I'm impressed - I guess I can still dream of a model kit depicting the police package on one of the current SUVs the police use besides the Charger. Older cars seem to be well served even if those kits are no longer in production in some instances.

If you have time, I'm struggling to find a "glue" that I like and that I can successfully work with. I see in your current videos you brush on "glue" and was just wondering if it happens to be the same Tamiya "cement" that I'm using as I see you get better results than I do. I can't seem to not make a mess of it with that stuff. Love the videos!

I use Plastruct Bondene. Modelroundup.com sells it.
Most of the modern liquid glues work very well. I'd stay away from the tube glues and thicker gel type model cements as they take longer to hold.

Yet another delightfully excellent job! In answer to your question, “Car 54” is a reference to an early television comedy round the mid-1950s, Car 54, Where Are You?, starring Fred Qwynne (later, Herman Munster on The Munsters).
I am a popular culture nerd, and an aspiring novelist, essayist, classical vocalist, illustrator, etc., so I assiduously endeavour to keep abreast of such matters.
Speaking of police cruiser kits, did AMT release one of Sheriff Andy Taylor’s (Andy Griffith) car on The Andy Griffith Show, in the late 1950s and early 1960s? I think it was a 1957 Ford Galaxie four-door (sedan or coupe?). In truth are both of these pop-cultural references before my wherewithal, so you may have to ask round.
Also, did T.J. Hooker (William Shatner) drive a 1978 Dodge Monaco police cruiser on his eponymous series (I think in the early 1980s)?
For that matter, how many other police car kits are available? I recently watched you build a 1923 Model T kit in official livery. I am fairly certain I saw one of a 1967 Ford Galaxie four-door (sedan or coupe?). Also, I think I saw one that was a Chevy Caprice or a Ford Taurus from the 1990s or the early 2000s; I cannot be certain of the make and model.

Is it possible for me to make it look liked a unmarked police car and what to do if I messed up when building it?

Simply don't add all the exterior police parts and it will be unmarked.

No a fan of the police ( well the band I am) bu t I do like certain pursuit cars from certain states that just look bad ass! I’m goin to “cop” this kit and replicate one but I’m lowering mine as I did my stock charger kit so it doesn’t sit so high! More Like the height on the box art
