    After having built models of all kinds since about age 6 (I'm 70 now), I one day, now well into retirement, just decided I didn't want to do it any more. I think it's primarily because now that I'm a widowed empty-nester and well into the minimalist stage of life, I just saw them as more clutter to deal with. Yet when I watch videos such as this one, I realize the joy is in the doing, no matter what becomes of them afterward. Keep up the great and inspiring work, my friend.

    I can't believe you actually removed those molded bolts, replaced them and wired the the undercarriage to the body. That is the biggest issue with this model and you just took this to another level...totally amazed and impressed. Also glad you didn't add weathering...I like showroom looking models.

    I have been pondering the idea of building the 1:12 Type 35 for a while now. Very good video, thank you for creating and presenting it. At approximately 5:30 in the video, you seem to be dry brushing some sort of material over a black-painted shape which looks like the differential housing. I cannot work out how you are getting most of the black paint off the higher areas but keeping it in the nooks and crannies where depth is required. It’s almost like a wash process, except there doesn’t appear to be any paint on your brush. Can you please explain the process of how you achieved such a realistic looking finish?

    • @bobscalemodeling9863
      @bobscalemodeling9863  Před měsícem +1

      Thank you for your comment and for watching the video! As shown, I began by applying black oil paint all over. This was the first stage. Then, I used various brushes, starting with one to wipe off the oil paint. While doing this, I cleaned the brush on a sponge to remove as much paint as possible, though you can also use a paper towel.
      I kept switching to clean brushes to continue removing the oil paint until I was happy with the result. By using a wide brush, you can pick up only the high parts, barely touching the dark spots, which I believe creates a very realistic effect

    • @paulofarrell3460
      @paulofarrell3460 Před měsícem

      Two more questions please Bob:
      Firstly with the louvre scribing, how do you manage to scribe each slot without damaging the louvre lip? Do you thin the reverse side of the louvre panel before scribing the slot?
      Secondly, the rivets on the bodywork - where do you source these 3D printed items please?

    • @bobscalemodeling9863
      @bobscalemodeling9863  Před měsícem +1

      I have bought a good scriber and that helped a lot.. if I'm not mistaken I showed in the video. But the scriber helps if you have a good one.

    Bonjour
    Je te suis depuis peu, tu fais un travail merveilleux.
    J'aimerai effectuer quelques maquettes comme les tiennent.
    Je suis plutôt fan de voitures.
    Tu me conseillerais de commencer par quel modèle, pour commencer à me familiariser avec les peintures, les outils et plein d'autres choses.
    Tu fais cela depuis combien de temps ?
    J'imagine que tu te documente énormément pour voir plein d'images.
    C'est génial, les maquettes sont très agréables à voir.
    Une très bonne continuation.
    Lulu.

    • @bobscalemodeling9863
      @bobscalemodeling9863  Před 7 měsíci

      Hello Lu, firstly, I appreciate your viewership, reaching out, and your kind comment. I recommend selecting a car model that you genuinely like if you're interested in building cars. I began with 1/24 scale models. Just take pleasure in the process, start building, and, as you mentioned, familiarize yourself with the craft. You can find helpful tutorials on CZcams from skilled modelers like Plasmo and Night Shift.
      Don't worry about making mistakes initially; what matters most is that you enjoy the experience and have the determination to learn. I recommend looking into Tamiya kits as they offer high-quality options. I've been involved in model building for approximately 7 years now. While thorough research can simplify your journey, you can also follow the instructions and build straight from the box.
      Feel free to connect with me on Instagram or Facebook, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions-I'm here to help.
