Chillis part 2..worst year ever 🌶️🌶️🌶️..

Probably been the worst year since 2016 for chillis … never known them to take so long to grow ..
The ones I ended up buying are so much better than the ones I grew which I put down to them being pampered ..
I do relize I’d used old seed so next year fresh seed and starting earlier.. plus I’m going to start some new ones in a month or so to see how they go and then overwinter .. 🌶️🌶️🌶️.

I swear every year I’m just going to buy starters 😂 and I fall for those seed packets and the pretty pictures. Hopefully yours will pick up soon Darren, Ali 🌞🇨🇦

Normally ok growing chillis but this year has been a challenge indeed

I,m growing De Cayenne chillies this year, mine are about 12 inch high but almost lost them early on when I watered them with water directly from the water butt, they suffered from the cold water and went in to shock. A quick re water with warm water from the tap saved the day.
So now I only water them from a watering can thats sitting in the greenhouse and had time to warm up, the chillies seem very heat sensitive.

I tend to do that as didn’t know myself ..only did it as someone mentioned it to me .. little tho gs you never relize about
