Doing onions a different way/space/easy 🧅🧅

- So I went down this way because I had put most outside and had a few left in the pint sized pots.. somehow the ones in the pots were much better than the outside ones..
Don’t know weather it was because they were in greenhouse not getting battered with rain wind etc .. but I could control the watering or feeding doing it this way so last year I did them all like this .. was thinking about putting in bigger pots to increase the size of the onions /spring onions .. but I was happy with the crop I got … plus this year I used all the spent compost sowing seeds.. as I’d seen people doing onions sprays for pests and the spent compost had a onion smell lol..
You may think what a waste of time and does take a bit potting on but we all have our ways 🧅🧅🧅..HAPPY SOWING HAPPY GROWING..
Good set of onions Darren, some of my leeks are damping off 😢😢. But I’ve sown more. Great update and have fun potting on 🤭🤭, Ali ☔️☔️
Do love to pot on lol… seems to work for me … not saying for all but great to try different ways
my garden is a sun trap. the first leeks i put in large pots were baked, so i'm putting some in smaller pots to grow on in the shade. i don't bother with the old system of dibbing holes, plonking the leeks in then watering. too difficult for me now, anyway..................brian

Yes a faff on with holes and dropping leeks in … the leeks I’ll probably put in my polytunnel in ground… as donnt think they’ll grow big enough in the pots they’re in …

Dug down inside the coop all along the edge… chicken wire/smashed glass ..
@@afcdyson ooo ta im trying to do the same but outside the run had a dead badger on mine so some predators around happy gardeningRichardx
