Fun fact! The name Kaiba literally means "Seahorse" in Japanese-hence why one of Kaiba's signature monsters is Kaiser Seahorse. I guess they didn't know *not* to translate that in these fake products, and so we get "Seahorse Soul" instead of "Kaiba's Soul."

It’s really a universal standard for any fake merchandise. If the franchise has multiple looks over its history, you can guarantee that they won’t stay consistent with what look they use for the box art. Ben 10 suffers from it, Yugioh suffers from it, everything suffers from it.
I don't think the people who made these cards know what the arcs even are.

When I was young I traded my 1st edition Joey Wheeler deck + some other first edition cards to some kid in my neighborhood who told me he had wanted to get rid of his cards. He gave me double the amount but they were all fake af from the flea market. I was too small to defend myself to this kid but I never let that down. I still think about that to this day 🤦🏽♂️

Aw man that sucks I feel your pain, I gave away all my 1st edition gx cards away in grade 5 to a “friend” who said he wanted to play only to never see him again after he switched schools I think I gave him over 150 cards which was a lot to me back then

Went to an airshow back when I was a kid, whole stand of fake yugioh pokemon, magic cards... boy i didn't know they were fake until a few years later. Fake cards are wildly interesting, kinda nostalgic and silly
I love the fake cards. They feel like something out of a different universe, very surreal. And you never know what to expect. You guys should deffo do another fake card duel.
i remember back in 2002 when i went on vacation to Spain with my parents, i was a huge yugioh fan back then, every market you came across sold fake yugioh cards, and at the end of the day i had like hundreds of fake cards including like 10 fake god cards

like bruh is it too expensive t order real ones that u can sell .. doubt it would be sold anyway where I live anime is not that known and nobody would even know what the cards would be for ... they would just think it's cool pics

I remember in school people had these types of cards. The stars and font looked fake and weird. The writing was really big too
I mean clearly whoever made this misspelled and printed the wrong arts on purpose to avoid being sued. But damn I really like this. I think the yugioh community should have a hand in card creation. Something like that create a card tournament konami had some months back. Also whatever happened to the inzektor card that won? Was it ever released?
I think there was some controversy around the entire event because people were essentially rigging the poles with bots, so Konami called it off. I may be wrong though.
And as much as I’d love to see the community actually get some of their customs made/acknowledged, it will never happen for multiple reasons. It only happened once, and the card is technically banned, but then again, only 2 copies exist

I remember back in the day, there is one high schooler that has all the best cards, turns out 90% of his cards in his deck consists of "convincingly real" fake cards. This is back in 2005, when chaos decks are still the popular deck. I beat him once out of 4 matches. Beaten him with full on removal deck, and magic cylinder. What a memory...
That first deck reminds me so much of how I got into Yugioh in the first place: Some vendor next to my school sold a lot of fake CotD cards and they were pretty much those cards, probably even the same bootleg source
Learned better and recently I've now ordered some OCG cards to build a deck that's legal here in Asia

Damn I remember here there were fake starter decks sold in smaller shops. They were also like 3 euros instead of 10 or 20 but the boxes were exact copies of the official starter decks. Given how much a boxed original starter deck costs now I wish someone would do a starter deck boxes reproduction like those I seen back in the days lol

Funny thing is, seahorse is a direct english translation from the Chinese anime translation of Kaiba
The idea of adding a pack or two to structure decks sounds great! They’ve always advertised buying supporting sets to help modify and amplify the decks, so to have something a little extra to potentially spice up your new deck with different tech sounds cool.
Magic and Digimon already do this, and it makes the opening of a new deck better.
These were so widespread in my country when I was a kid... It was hard to find places that sold legit cards

I used to have a few hundred of these fake cards from Poland when I was a kid, sadly they're lost now. There were many different forms of the summoned lord exodia, most of which had the infinity symbol or the word "infinity" for its stats. They were cheap as hell though, a full structure deck cost less than $2

my cousin had a bunch of fake cards back in the day, monsters that were usually 1800 atk would were 18000 and the text on the name was huge on some of them, and the cards with "rarities" looked like someone ran it through a kaleidoscope

Story : my cousin’s first cards were fake YuGiOh cards from a flea market and he wanted to play against me but he would always lose because the card synergy was poor (All the cards were from Dark Beginning 1) . So I went out a bought one of these bootleg decks for a few dollars and we played and every single duel felt like the anime because I didn’t know what was going to happen. Those were good times.
I Just realized that not only did desk bot have a different number font, but they also gave the monster border section the color of a normal monster instead of an effect monster color

Hey! I was thinking about this kind of products on the shower this morning! XD wondering if there were products of the newest generations, like pendulum or links fake cards
And later (after the shower) having my breakfast and watching the video of "Dueling with Fake Cards", I realized that Alex has not a section like the others members of the team (Chris finally has his own too after a long waiting)... So I thought that you might do a section of "Real Cards VS Fake Cards" with kinda random functional decks, or "Real Deck VS Fake Deck" where you take the same structure decks/cards but different in that way, and Alex trying to beat another member of the team on a duel with his fake cards!
Think about it, sounds great for me having in mind that both kind of cards are seriously OP to their way XD

Fun fact: in Japan yu gi oh structure decks have special card packs in them. The card pull is 5 of 10 cards and are all extra deck(for mine at least )but have real nice holos. Yes we are missing out. Hope I blew your mind team APS

I pulled an "Exodia the Dark Forbidden Lord"it was one of those cards that's artwork is over the card text it had the power to instantly win the duel when summoned and had ATK/Infinity DEF/Infinity so even if you just swung with it you'd win if it hits lol
I once got a fake Dragons Collide structure deck, they copied over the Japanese decklist (you can tell because it has two Chaos Sorcerer's). Also got a deck with C32 Shark Drake on the cover. Turns out it's a Merlantean deck, so the cards actually synergized well. The card text is also pretty good.
It's funny how "Schild" is pronounced in American English considering its semantic origins (also something that I've been noticing with MBT's videos).
My friend literally has all of those metal tins...Really cool and like over 10 years old btw!

When I started watching 5Ds that's when my mom started bying me these fake yugioh tins, structure decks and pack and tins were, and still are to this day, around 150 and 200 dinars (less than 1,5 and 2 dollars), last time I saw a structure deck which were around 50 dinars I think (less than 50 cents) and as for packs, they were around 20 dinars (less than 20 cents) and I actually managed to find just 1 at a chinese store for 50 dinars. I started playing yugioh again with my friend for fun few months ago and we later started buying fake tins at are local chinese stores which we have a lot of here. They sell mostly tins for 150 dinars, 200, 600, 800 and 900 which you probably assumed have much more fake cards inside

I have some pretty good quality fake exodia and Egyptian god cards in Spanish. the brown and yellow on the back are slightly too light but otherwise everything else matches the real cards. I could probably use them in a tournament as the rules say you can use cards of a foreign language if you can provide the official translated card text and if i put them in sleeves so they look identical to the rest of my cards then that solves the problem of the card backs looking slightly different.
My friend had bootleg cards from Malaysia. The called Exodia 'Cherry Chost Ghost Master'. He had 5 of them and they had infinite Atk and Def...it was hard beating him that day

5-6 years ago, I bought a Meklord Structure Deck. And get this, there is an anime-only card called "Aurora Draw". Its anime effect is that you can draw two cards if you control a Meklord Emperor on the field and no other cards in hand. But the card I got excluded/removed the extra condition of having a Meklord Emperor. If that card wasn't fake, it would've been a broken "Draw 2" card BC it wasn't a "once per turn" card.

Used to see this fake structure decks years ago. Whenever a new archetype got a support, a new box will appear with full member of the archetype along with the new support and many other staples. And the boxes actually carry cards with good text too.
I remember trying to buy one of those and was surprised by how good (for a fake) the quality was. And not to mention uncensored artwork... (I bought a harpie box when channeler first appeared in OCG)
Arc-V box, with a booster pack labeled as Vrains with a 5Ds blurb that claims it's from Zexal, and to top it off, the playmat has the original DM/Fusion era layout and labeling. It's an actual perfect storm of errors.

Man not again lol. I remember the old fake cards were noticeably fake but not all these new cards look fake. Thank you Team APS for reveiling how to determine these new fakes to cut down on the scams.
around 6 years ago here in the philippines we had structure decks where the core cards had already 3 copies each, so we literally were playing drulers and spell books meta for literally a dollar xD
I remember buy huge fake yugioh tin and inside it i got 4 deck (earthbound, stardust,fortune lady and plant deck) + 10 booster pack and playmat
