I think that “tournament ready” in this context simply means “tournament legal” in that you technically have enough cards to enter a tournament, not that the cards will be good enough to make top cut.
So, anything basically.
That could also be a 40 card deck full of common vanilla monsters. At least these have a these and "kinda" playable so its a huge step up from just legal.

They're usually pretty good deck bases. But they're always missing the money cards.
The matches were actually fun to watch. Nothing too overly powerful, no hand traps, no mass descriptions, no omni/semi omni negates. The combos arent 15 mins long. Definitely not tournament ready but a great deck for casual matches. Can't wait to see more of it!
Agreed, if I were playing casually with friends and I didn't have the cards for Suship, I'd happily buy that prebuilt deck.

Wait... we did pick the middle deck in the poll and never been reveal. Is it possible for another member of Team APS to face either Alex with Digital Bugs deck or Paul with Gunkan Suships deck? I never bought tournament decks on eBay but I do bought YuGiOh 200 Random Cards for 14 bucks to make 2 fun decks and let's just say it's pretty chaotic fun.

Could you actually link the Suship one, or was it actually listed as "random tournament ready deck"? I have been wanting to try Gunkan but could never get the cards I needed.

Correction: You do get the draw when using Shari Red to make the Xyz. They care about what materials were used, not what materials they have. It doesn't matter if it's not treated as Shari while attached as material, because it was treated as Shari while it was on the field

And on that topic, you're also just straight up wrong. I tested it while writing this comment, and Master Duel 100% allows you to draw by the effect of the Xyz if you use Shari Red as material

The Mimicking Maneater Bug was not an Insect anymore, so it shouldn’t have gotten the buff from the field spell card in the second duel.
Mistakes like this happen when playing friendlies irl and you don't have a judge learing over your shoulder at all times 😅
Happened to me and my nephew when I was teaching him how to play Crystal Beasts, I was so focused on helping him I bricked or didn't use some of my branded cards effects.
I like how you treated the effects of your suship as if they were actually a plate of food. Very clever

16:52 you actually could make rank 5 uni-dreadnought because Shari Red says special summon from your extra deck, 1 xyz monster that mentions that special summoned monsters name. Therefore the level of Shari red did not matter
Would be awesome to see more of these eBay decks played. Both of them were surprisingly well put together for what seems to be decks made to off load commons. Digital Bugs look as good as they can be without Beetroopers, Cicadas and other misc insect support
These types of duels are always fun to watch no overpowered cards and you get to see some archetypes you don’t get to see everyday
As a Digital Bug player this match made me very happy. So happy to see them represented. 😊 Alec, if you want to make the deck even more powerful, use "Beetrooper Scout Buggy" and "Beetrooper Scale Bomber" in the main deck, and add some of the non-Digital Bug Xyz Insects and the Beetrooper Links to your Extra Deck to give further options against all kinds of strategies.
They might not always be the best, but I'll always love these fun themed decks like Suships.
Just letting you know that I greatly appreciate you. Nidoking has been my absolute favorite since back in the R/B days. :o

I bought a “tournament ready” dream mirror deck because dream mirror was a really unique archetype that seemed interesting to me. It had a 40 card deck and a 10 card extra deck, 6 fusions and 4 links but the links were weird and never included anything remotely useful. Of the 40 cards there were no hand traps, no non archetype spells/traps, and included BLS envoy of the beginning. Came with the I:P Masq sleeves and deck box though xD
Hey Paul, Gunkin Suship Shari Red counts as Gunkin suship Shari when used as an overlay, at least according to master duel. So you should have drawn a card.
Yea because it is checks for shari at attempt to summon rather than checks what is material it does the draw.

(especially because their inheritable effects do not work like zoodiac. that play where the rhinosebus got +1000 from the registrider was not actually how that works)
This was really cool! I love the Digital Bug archetype's aesthetic and I was disappointed when I couldn't get it to work well in Master Duel. Super fun duels to watch, felt pretty back and forth!

I've played a suship deck and actually, if you xyz with red shari you can draw one card because it was shari when it was being used for summon, but not as a material on the monster.

as one of the 3 suship players out there, shari red can only reveal regular shari to do it's effect
also shari red counts as shari for the draw effect
also the gunkan xyz does draw you a card for shari red as material unless shari red had it's effects negated while on field

You can show another Shari Red to use that effect because
1. Red's name becomes "Gunkan Suship Shari" while in the *hand* , Deck, GY, or on the field.
2. Red only asks for "Gunkan Suship Shari", not card with *original* name as Gunkan Suship Shari.

Awesome games! I actually really like this time in ygo decks. Everything is back and forth, the boss monsters are in archetype, and there is a lot of interaction. 🤣 I know the tournament ready thing is ridiculous, but it's super fun to see these kinds of decks play.

This ended up being the video to get me back into the game. I ended up building a budget suship deck with a basic rank 4 toolkit for less than a structure deck-- after playing some Master Duel I'm probably gonna swap out some of the generic fire/aqua support and lean more into a suship/utopia hybrid, seeing as I can pick up the necessary cards for that pretty cheap too.
Actually assuming I can find a good deal somewhere on Utopia the Lightning I reckon I can get a full 40 card deck and 15 card extra deck for a fair bit less than £1 per card. Not half bad.

On the bit about 1 card XYZ summons, Orcust can do the same though that effect is on the monster card itself not a field spell. Fun duels even with all the tongue twisters from Suships.
I actually got up to DLv. 18 w/ a FIRE Warrior deck in the Qualifiers. It's a Battlin' Boxer/Infernoble/Igknight deck mix, and as weird as it sounds, it was fun making the current tier 0's scoop so much lol.
I love battlin boxers, so much fun with them.

A nice combo from Paul in Game 3. But Ties of the Brethren prevents you from Special Summoning after it resolves so it it isn't possible.

You actually can XYZ for the rank 5 Suship using Shari Red's effect. In that specific case they don't both need to be level 5, according to the effect you just automatically make it

Fun to watch, though Alec shouldn't have used the bugs effect to pop dreadnought, it was still the battle phase, Paul could have chained dreadnoughts negation effect and disabled it.
This was a super fun duel to watch but, uh, in game 3 Ties of the Brethren locks you out of special summoning for the turn.

In my locals people play tier 1 decks and FTKs, so yeah obviously these decks wouldnt have a chance. But your duel was really fun to watch. In a vakuum like thjs, these decks seem to be very usable

I haven't played Yugioh in almost 20 years and watching this makes me glad I left. The amount of stacking and shifting in one term is way too long and outright insane. No wonder people are dropping more now. Konami was so focused on milking the brand and creating an arms race of the next complexity to keep the game going that it didnt stop and think "Hey seeing this being played is pretty ridiculous and boring... Lets go back to basics. A turn should last more than 20 seconds." I play the old rules from 2005 so all this is too much. I recently played duel links and this whole new way is so much... I miss simpler times...

Sushi’s look really fun. Are they as cheap as the gate guardian deck? They look like all commons and the gate guardian deck was only like £20 for the whole deck and extra deck since I already owned a couple of prismas.
Yeah, you can build them super cheap. And not only are pure Suships very satisfying to play against similarly-tiered decks, but they're (almost) all level/rank 4 so the Extra Deck is flexible. It used to be common to play Utopia Suships, but Shari Red giving you 6 Sharis makes pure Suships more consistent right now.
You can't overlay after using Ties of the Brethren.. it locks you out of all special summons for the rest of the turn.

The Gunkan cards are one of my favorite decks.
When this card is activated: Add 1 "Grandpa Demetto" or "Box of Friends" from your Deck to your hand. While you control "Princess Cologne", your opponent's monsters cannot target monsters with 0 ATK or DEF for attacks. Once per turn: You can destroy 1 monster in your hand or field, and if you do, send 1 "Doll Monster" card from your Deck to the GY, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Xyz Monsters. You can only activate "Doll Happiness" once per turn ?
