My New Year's resolution was to get on and see how this part works, and only halfway through the video, I am really impressed how this simplifies the process. That it puts the bits into their own collection and makes it easy to select, simplifies the deactivation, etc. this is a life improvement add on for VFX. Well done, and thanks. Hello, hope you respond to my question, after I drew a line on the subject I don't see the fracture settings option underneath it. Do you have any recommendations
Hi LightArchitect, I've been playing around with Destruction tools for a few days now and have been having an issue with using it on more complex objects (buildings/vehicles etc) where strange blocks or extrusions appear whilst fracturing. I've tried applying various modifiers to the items before attempting to fracture them and have also tried Boolean modifiers after fractures, all without success. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated if you have the time?
I sort of get the feeling I'm overlooking something and that it's a really simple fix... Please help?
How do i get the khaos destruction to happen at a certain point in a timeline. for example it always starts at frame 1 and ends at like 200 but I want it to start at like frame 400
I have version 3.1. Everything works very well, but when I render the destruction scene, the object is transparent, all other objects are not transparent, what's the problem?
Rigid body constraints function seems to not work correctly on 3.6, i tried with multiple file, it keeps saying objects don't have any rigid bodies (while they obviously still do physics)

Question: sometimes fracturing takes a lot of time for blender. I've got i9 10850k and 32 ddr4 ram. Isn't that enough?
Nice update Brad!! For some reason, when I added the glass and rock particles, following along with your tutorial, the particles fall through my rigid body floor. The main rocks stay on top no problems but both particle systems fall through. What did I miss please?
Hey Danny thank you! The reason for this is because the floor needs to have collision physics enabled. Just go to your physics panel in blender and add it as a collision object. Then I also recommend bringing up the damping so that the particles don't bounce too much. Hope this helps.

Hi i just bought khaos and everytime i try to use anything I'm receiving error.... I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Kind of disappointed since I cant use something I've been waiting to buy...what is the issue? Can you suggest please?

Hello I did some experiments with this function, and I was surprised, I like it, however I had a little problem for the internal textures, I could not add them at once, I should add them to each piece, one piece at a time! maybe I had to add the internal material before breaking the wall? or is there a trick to add it later? thanks ,and greetings.
Hey Pegasus, Thanks for the comment! You should be able to adjust the internal materials all at once. I'll look into it further though.
Once I apply the debris the entire physics object stops working and the sphere just goes through the wall with no effect
Pretty amazing. I have a bunch of constrained fragments that jump and shake like crazy once the sim gets going. Is there something I'm missing to make those fragments completely static? Thanks.
Hmmmm. It's hard to say exactly without seeing your file. You could try decreasing the object velocity parameter in the particle settings so they don't take as much of the movement as the rigid body.
@@LightArchitect One file to the next, instance to instance, I continue to get different results. I will try the above suggestion, thanks. I think for this I locked the trans properties for a lot of the fragments. Good as long as it doesn't want to move at all. Currently I'm trying to get things not to start falling immediately at the beginning of a sim. They've all got "Start Deactivated" ticked... Not sure what to do. But I continue to enjoy working with these tools. Looking forward to getting competent.

Thanks for reaching out. Make sure you install the correct version of the Add-on for your version of Blender. The latest version of the Add-on has the file name "khaos3_4_singlepy_wdestoolsparticles_v11.zip".
Also make sure that you have a collection in your Blender scene with the name "Collection". This should help resolve any UI issues you may have.

Make sure you have a collection in your scene with the name "Collection".
Also make sure that you have the latest version of KHAOS installed. With 3.4 in the title.

Hi Noah, Thanks for reaching out. When you open up a blender file you will see a collection named "collection" in the top right menu. Just make sure that isn't deleted or create a new one. Also make sure that you are using the latest version of KHAOS with the file name "khaos3_4_singlepy_wdestoolsparticles_v11.zip".

Hi Steel Studios. Thanks for reaching out. There are several versions of KHAOS install files included in your downloads. Make sure you install only the one that includes destruction tools with the filename: khaos2_93_install_wdestooksparticles_v6.zip

The KHAOS fire shader in this add-on helps a lot with that yes. We are making a tutorial on that effect this month utilizing the add-on and shader.

Hi VFXNanu. A few things. First make sure you have installed the latest version of KHAOS. It should have the filename "khaos3_4_singlepy_wdestoolsparticles_v11.zip".
Second, make sure that you have a collection in your Blender scene with the name "Collection". This should be there by default when you open Blender but sometimes gets removed.
Let us know if this solves the error.

Try activating and deactivating again. That should solve the issue.
Question: my debries go through an object "which is a solid ground" I set it as a passive rigid body simple. So whenever dirt/rocks are blasting they are just falling through everything. While on your video they collide with ground and remain on surface
Hi there. It sounds like you also need to enable collision physics for your ground plane. That will make the debris particles interact with the ground as well.

@@nodecrasher4991 Well I'm not sure if it's "Better". But it's a preset that will setup some default settings for you yes. You can then make adjustements from that point to change the way objects collide etc.

How wonderful! Always better, I really like this one, however I must be honest, RBDLAB, on this field is unbeatable, but this is also good, and .... a question, how come I do not have it in my addon? I also have KHAOS but this is not there, there should be free updates at least for those who have bought it?

But there remains (for me) a problem:
The debris (only the debris) falls through the floor - do not remain lying.
I do not find the fault.

@@LightArchitect hi brad. I switched to 2.92 and I now see the fracture tab, but when I click “fracture from drawing” I get an error message saying “attribute error: calling operator bpy.ops.object.add_fracture_cell_objects error, could not be found”

It does. The domain that comes in has the KHAOS fire shader built in.

following tutorial and still unable to fracture a cube keep getting an error nothing to fracture?, any tips such a good addon thanks windows11 preview build tried on octane blender 2.93.5 & ordinary blender build 2.93.5 still won't fracture and nothing in fracture settings to fracture?

We've updated this addon for 2.93 but havent tested with 2.93.5 at the moment. I think that is likely the issue you are having. Will be updating for future versions of blender ASAP as well.

@@LightArchitect hi i downgraded blender to 2.93 and also uninstalled blender octane version incase it was conflicting but still no joy theres nothing to fracture in the fracture list not even when named khaos or different the fracture list is 0 so i can't fracture from drawing when i press from drawing error says location 0??? everythings done right
downgraded again to blender 2.92 and downloaded addon again and installed still same location of cube unknown nothing to select in fracture settings? I'm at a loss to what the problem is,,,windows11 preview build 64bit tried on blender2.92 & blender 2.93
