One note- it can be synched to any given point in a song. You just press the tap tempo button once and it will restart then LFO to synch with your band. Very cool feature- especially considering it was his only criticism!

I drink the coffees while I watch the Henning, and I get the chuckles. Good stuff, and animals at the end!

Who needs the pedal when you can have Henning imitating the sounds of the pedal for you. Only thing is: you need to take the guy to all the gigs and mic him up :D

That was the most comprehensive visual explanation of Sample & Hold. Did they teach you that at Berkely or Cirque du Soleil?
I still love the Mcmull sound, rock solid. A nice effect of the s&h on a tremolo is that you get different rhythm accents. Coohl.
The Univibe/Rotovibe sound sounds okay, even in mono.
The pedal got smaller but the review did'nt shrink, thank Gahd.
    Yup, I'm done now.

Good morning, is Tap and Rate control the same? Can the tempo be adjusted with the Rate button? Or it is necessary to set the tempo with the Tap button and then adjust the desired speed

Forgive my ignorance as I've never been a big trem user...
Q: Do any tremolo pedals have a basic pulse-width or gate-delay control for defining SWING? It seems to be rather fundamental (in a volume-modulation device of rhythmic implications) that it should enable beyond a constantly fixed symmetry of the LFO's resultant effect on the VCA.
How you, me, or anyone could want a pseudo-random/S&H, "harmonic" hoo-ha, or even the rhythmic division/TT *before* a basic swing control *in a tremolo* (it only ever HAS a rhythmic function, ffs!).... seems to be rather bizarre.

      Huh? 🤪
Now say as if I’m a third grader.

    • @shaft9000
      @shaft9000 Před 5 lety +2

@@CorbCorbin okay.....For example. Let's say your mate has just created some buttery-ass slo-jamz on an AKAI mpc - a box well-known for it's exact control of SWING.
You decide that you'd like to play a guitar effected by a tremolo to join with said buttery-ass *slo-jamz*.
You play a bit, and then maybe realize that you wish that your trem matched the swing of the beat, not just going 'wub-wub' ( in swing terms, a '50/50 groove' or 'straight') in 8th notes or straight 16ths or straight triplets only. It's for "pocketing the groove" whenever the groove swings, basically.
I've achieved this result by sending recorded guitar into a synthesizer before - but was wondering if any pedals can do similar.
The technobabble version: It would need to have a way to take the SQUARE(pulse wave) LFO that is clocking the tremolo and vary it's 'duty-cycle' [for more on this search: 'wiki Pulse Wave'] so that is weighted to one end or the other, instead of only the symmetrically 'straight' 50/50 that most every tremolo does.
I have a whetstone phaser and empress phaser that both have some kind of asymmetrical option(s) - so it seems only natural that a trem should have a similar ability, too.
It would enable me to reproduce some of my playing on-stage better, free up the synth modules to do other studio stuff when recording jams, get hot chicks, etc.

      shaft9000
I might get what your saying now!
I have the Whetstone myself, one of my favorite pedals, because of the Asymetric setting and the High/Lo pass filter, Ring Mod capable, you know!
So are you asking about the width of the sound, between the volume/no volume, so that in a groove, say a bass line that stretches, you can set the Trem accordingly?
I think I understand you questioning Harmonic Trem, but it’s not supposed to be right with the groove.
      A Uni-Vibe is similar.
I’ve had a Trem with a Width option, but I’m not sure that’s what your wondering.
Listen to Message to Love, by Jimi Hendrix, either the Band of Gypsys or Woodstock version, and here what he does with it. It’s within the groove, and outside it, at once.
I wish you could draw my ignorant ass a diagram. 😆

shaft9000 not sure if this helps but there are a number of tremolo pedals that vary the shape of the LFO effecting the VCA. For example sawtooths, triangles, peaks, sines and squares as well as everything in between. Source Audio Vertigo or Eventide H9 maybe options. If you really must have total control over these parameters, the only pedal I can think of that could do it is the new Empress Zoia.

    • @shaft9000
      @shaft9000 Před 5 lety

@@peterjessop1878 The monument has some shapes, too. It's the ability to specify the symmetry (1/99 to 50/50(perfect square) to 99/1) of the pulse LFO (i.e. 'pulse-width) that I'm talking about, which I haven't seen any pedal offer besides moogerfoogers - alas, they don't offer a trem specifically - but the effect is simple VCA modulation after all.

Are u kidding?! I've got small feet but unfortunately i 'm not 10 years old anymore so not small enough.
Those switches are so closed to each other i would screw up 100% guaranteed playing live when you don't always see clearly your feet, where they are and where they have to stomp on your pedalboard because you are playing guitar with your hands duh!
My limited brain can't think about all those things at the same time, sorry.
They are so close it's ridiculous if you don't play in full light.
I'm sure, they are so close i would screw up in full light anyway.
